Georgia Democrat Rep. Erica Thomas: We don't want to confiscate guns, we want to seize them

Erica Thomas Tucker Carlson
What's the difference? Only a Communist gun-grabbing Democrat would say such a stupid thing, and yes, it was a Democrat representative from the state of Georgia!

Erica Thomas, Democrat state representative from Georgia appeared on Tucker Carlson to discuss the legislation she sponsored that would confiscate semi-automatic weapons from law-abiding American citizens and what she thinks the consequences of that would be.

Take a look.

Comment: Thomas seems to only be using her Care/Harm moral taste bud, and that is preventing her from seeing the problem of school shootings and what can be done to prevent them from a more nuanced perspective.

Richard Dawkins warns 'something worse' could replace Christianity

Richard Dawkins
In reaction to a recent article, well-known atheist and author Richard Dawkins Tweeted Wednesday that we should not rejoice over the death of Christianity in Europe because we do not know what might replace it.

"Before we rejoice at the death throes of the relatively benign Christian religion, let's not forget Hilaire Belloc's menacing rhyme: 'Always keep a-hold of nurse, For fear of finding something worse.'"

Comment: This is a good point by Dawkins. Unfortunately, the "something worse" he refers to will most likely be Dawkin's brand of atheistic materialism/scientism, with a cultural Marxist bent.

The article Dawkins referenced points to a report conducted by Stephen Bullivant, professor of Theology and the Sociology of Religion at St. Mary's University in London which found that young people, ages 16 to 29, are not attending or have never attended religious services.

The report showed that the majority of young adults in 12 European countries practice no form of faith, the Czech Republic being the least religious. It also found that 70 percent of young people in the UK do not identify with any religion, with 59 percent never attending a religious service at all.

Bullivant stated that many young adults in Europe do not identify themselves with any kind of faith.

Sweden paying transsexuals who were 'forcibly' sterilized

Europe's chickens are coming to home to roost. And Sweden is the latest European country to be punished for past decisions that contradict the new leftist dogma. The country is offering payouts to transsexuals who were forcibly sterilized beginning in the 1970s.

Sweden's Gender Recognition Act of 1972 required those who wanted to change their gender to undergo sexual sterilization. Interestingly, as progressive as many believe Sweden to be, the law was enforced until as late as 2013. It was declared unconstitutional and a violation of the EU's Convention on Human Rights by Sweden's Administrative Court of Appeals. Since that ruling in 2013, trans-activists have been seeking payment from the Swedish government for those who were forcibly sterilized.

However, it should be pointed out that, technically, Sweden never forced anyone to be sterilized. Those who chose to deny science were required to be sterilized. They were not required to make that initial anti-science choice. Regardless, eugenics is troubling and much of Europe has an inglorious history with eugenics. In fact, this isn't the first time that Sweden has confronted its eugenics past. According to The Local:
A total of 63,000 people, mostly women, were sterilized in Sweden from 1935 to 1975 based on eugenics and the desire to weed out "inferiors" to create a stronger Swedish race.

The Scandinavian country, which remained officially neutral throughout World War II, forced mentally disabled people, epileptics and people with alleged social problems to undergo sterilization against their will, or pressured them to agree to the operation in order to be allowed to marry or be released from mental institutions.

Kyle Kashuv & Cameron Kasky

Cameron Kasky (right), who agreed to a live debate over his conflicting views over gun reform with fellow Marjory Stoneman Douglas student Kyle Kashuv, has pulled out of the deal citing "personal reasons."
A Parkland high school student who agreed to a live debate over his conflicting views over gun reform with fellow Marjory Stoneman Douglas student Kyle Kashuv has pulled out of the deal.

Cameron Kasky, an organizer of the pro-gun control March for Our Lives movement, tweeted Monday night that he won't debate Kashuv, a pro-Second Amendment voice, following a tweet Kashuv seemingly disapproved of.

"Kyle, I've enjoyed my discussion about gun laws with you so far, but after seeing this, I think I'm out. For personal reasons," Kasky said, adding that while he "disagree[s] on certain policies with some family members of some victims," he would "never go after them, especially not like this. This is low."

RT and Sputnik Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan has confirmed that RT's provider company that broadcasts shows in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area will cease doing so.

"The provider company that aired our broadcast in Washington threw us out of the broadcast network," Simonyan said via Twitter on Thursday. "Yes, because of our 'foreign agent' status."

RT was compelled to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) last November. RIA Global LLC, a US company producing content for Sputnik News, was also recently forced to register as a "foreign agent."

"RT will continue broadcasting in Washington on other platforms," Simonyan said. RT's final program in Washington will air March 31.

Turkey gets green light from Russia to take Manbij, Syria

With no current US Secretary of State to negotiate with Erdogan has decided to go ahead with his advance

Before former US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was sacked by US President Donald Trump, he was working with Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan on securing an agreement over the northern Syrian town of Manbij.

It was important because Erdogan had threatened to march on all of northern Syria to eliminate what he believes is an emerging Kurdish militant threat-having already kicked them out of Afrin.

Turkey views the US-backed Kurdish YPG group as an extension of the PKK, another Kurdish militant group active in Iraq and Turkey, which it considers as a terrorist group.

Former Michigan State University dean William Strampel is being held at the Ingham County Jail, awaiting charges.
A former Michigan State University dean and superior to disgraced sports physician Larry Nassar has been arrested and held in the Ingham County Jail. No charges have yet been filed.

William Strampel reportedly faces multiple charges in connection to his alleged inaction in the response to sexual assault reports against the now-convicted Nassar, who worked at MSU for two decades.

Nassar is currently serving sentences of up to 175 years after more than 150 women and children from Michigan State, USA Gymnastics, and the Olympics stepped forward to accuse the doctor of sexual misconduct after he molested them under the guise of medical "exams."

Comment: It seems quite a few people were aware of Nasser's predations and chose to do nothing:

State and local health officials issued a warning Thursday about a new symptom of synthetic pot -excessive bleeding from the eyes and ears.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 22 people in the past few weeks visited emergency rooms with severe bleeding after using a synthetic cannabinoid product.

Most of those affected were in the Chicago area, but health officials warned the contaminated products could also be present elsewhere across the state, said department spokeswoman Melaney Arnold.

Though synthetic pot has long been considered dangerous, severe bleeding is not a known side effect, said Dr. Melissa Millewich, an emergency room physician at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

"This bleeding is not expected, at least in such a significant population so quickly," she said.

Moscow tells Britain, 'Prove YOU didn't poison Skripal or we will consider it an attack on Russian citizens'

Sergei and Yulia Skripal

Victims: Sergei Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia, 33
Russia as demanded that London provide proof that British spies did not carry out the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that their analysis of the assassination attempt has them to believe in 'a possible involvement in it of the British intelligence services'.

The Ministry says that in the absence of proof of British innocence, Moscow will regard the incident as an attempt on the lives of Russian citizens on foreign soil.

'An analysis of all the circumstances ... leads us to think of the possible involvement in it (the poisoning) of the British intelligence services,' the foreign ministry said in a statement.

'If convincing evidence to the contrary is not presented to the Russian side we will consider that we are dealing with an attempt on the lives of our citizens as a result of a massive political provocation.'
