Virtue signaling didn't save Lululemon - still been devoured by the Woke Monster

Lululemon did all the right things.

They launched a "Strength to Be" campaign that featured men discussing their own idea of masculinity, including gay boxer Orlando Cruz.

They pandered to the LGBT movement at stores across America.

They released an "Impact Agenda" that focused on climate change, focusing on the goal of having all their clothes be made with 100% green energy.

The company focused tirelessly on "equity" over the past few years, not only in salary between men and women, but along racial lines as well.

Question

Why is notorious Fusion GPS attorney Glenn Simpson risking sanctions?

Glenn Simpson fusion gps

Glenn Simpson
Fusion GPS attorneys have been accused of violating ethics rules in the case they're defending against Alfa Bank. What do they want to keep hidden?

Background

In 2017, the owners of Alfa Bank (we'll call them Alfa Bank for the purposes of this article) sued Fusion GPS and Glenn Simpson for their publication of false statements accusing Alfa Bank of "bribery, extortion, and interference in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election."

As a reminder, it was Fusion GPS and Glenn Simpson who, along with others, created and spread bogus Trump/Russia dossiers to government officials and the media. This was then used to justify the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance warrants on Carter Page to spy on Page those associated with President Trump.

US criticizes Israel over demolition of family home of Palestinian American alleged attacker

israel demolition palestinian american
The Biden administration has criticized the Israeli military's demolition of a home in the West Bank owned by the family of a Palestinian American accused of carrying out a terror attack in May.

This is the first time since the new Israeli government was formed that the Biden administration has criticized its actions in the West Bank.

Israel has repeatedly demolished the homes of terror suspects in the West Bank, contending that it serves as a deterrent against future attacks.

WHO warns of 'epidemiological stupidity' of early Covid reopening

mike ryan WHO
Mike Ryan issues warning over letting people catch Covid earlier as England prepares for 'big bang' reopening.

As England moves towards an anticipated "big bang" lifting of coronavirus restrictions on 19 July, a senior World Health Organization official has warned countries to lift their Covid-19 restrictions slowly so as "not to lose the gains that [they] have made".

The comments from the UN global health body's head of emergencies, Mike Ryan, were not aimed directly at Boris Johnson's much-trumpeted reopening. However, they will be interpreted as grist to the mill of those health experts who have been arguing that England is moving too fast at a time when infections are surging.

Comment: Just your friendly neighborhood World Health Organization official telling you that you're still supposed to be scared, just in case you forgot.

The Swedish police described the crash as "very serious" on their official website, but were unable to provide any more details.

An airplane with nine people on board has crashed after takeoff outside Orebro, TT News Agency reported, citing authorities.

Several people were killed in the crash, which Lars Hedelin, press spokesman for the police, described to Expressen as "a total accident".

Comment: More from New York Post:
A small plane carrying a group of skydivers crashed this week in Sweden, killing all nine people on board, police said.

The single-engine plane, a DHC-2 Beaver, crashed close to the runway and burst into flames shortly after takeoff at Orebro airport on Thursday night, police said.

"It's a very severe accident. Everyone on board the crashed plane has died," police said on their site.

The plane had been carrying the pilot and eight passengers, who were members of a local skydiving club, according to police and Orebro County Governor Maria Larsson.

No official cause for the crash has been determined, but officials said that "something happened in the middle of the runway."

"The plane didn't get up very high before it went down to the left of the runaway," Peter Swaffer, a department head at the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority, told daily newspaper Aftonbladet.

Swedish Maritime Administration spokesman Carl-Johan Linde said the crash must have occurred "in connection" with the plane's takeoff.

NIAID, Moderna Had COVID Vaccine Candidate in December 2019

covid vaccine syringe
So much has happened over the past year that it may be hard to remember what life was like pre-COVID. But let's flash back to December 2019, when the idea of social distancing, compulsory masking and lockdowns would have been met with disbelief and outrage by most Americans.

At that time, most were blissfully unaware of the pandemic that would change the world in the next few months. It wasn't until December 31, 2019, that the COVID-19 outbreak was first reported from Wuhan, China,1 and at this point it was only referred to as cases of viral pneumonia, not a novel coronavirus.2 I say "most" because it seems some people may have been aware of something lurking much earlier than it appeared.

HHS chief says his vaccine comments are being taken 'wildly out of context'

Xavier Becerra
Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra on Thursday sought to clarify his argument that "it is absolutely the government's business" to know which Americans have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, after facing backlash from Republicans in Congress.

In a tweet, the federal government's top health official said his comments from earlier in the day had been "taken wildly out of context."

"To be clear: government has no database tracking who is vaccinated," he wrote. "We're encouraging people to step up to protect themselves, others by getting vaccinated. It's the best way to save lives and end this pandemic."

Becerra's initial remarks on Thursday morning came in response to Republican criticism that President Joe Biden has received this week for his administration's latest push to persuade vaccine-hesitant Americans to get their shots.

In a speech at the White House on Tuesday, Biden gave an update on the state of the U.S. vaccination program and ongoing efforts to reach parts of the country where skepticism of the vaccine still runs high.

Wells Fargo is reportedly closing all personal lines of credit

well fargo
Wells Fargo is shutting down all existing personal lines of credit and is not offering the consumer lending product anymore, CNBC reported on Thursday, citing letters from the bank.

The product, which usually gave users $3,000 to $100,000 in revolving credit lines, was pitched as a way to consolidate higher-interest credit card debt, pay for home renovations or avoid overdraft fees on linked checking accounts, the report said.

Customers have been given a 60-day notice that their accounts will be shuttered, according to the report.

Wells Fargo did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

The move comes more than a year after the bank suspended home equity loans, given the economic uncertainty fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fallout from the pandemic also prompted the bank to stop providing loans to a majority of its independent auto dealer customers last year.

The American progressive's civil war over Syria: Left's lack of intellectual curiosity

FILE PHOTO: Syrian President Bashar al Assad visits Syrian army troops in northwestern Idlib province
Truth and politics are often mutually exclusive concepts when dealing with the progressive American Left. This unfortunate fact is being driven home in spades in an ongoing spat between two lefty online personalities.

Anyone following Aaron Maté (149K followers on Twitter); The Young Turks (TYT, with 440K followers as an institution, and as many followers each tracking the activity of co-hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian); the comedian Jimmy Dore (274K followers); or any number of other Twitter personalities whose online paths have crossed with any of the above; knows these left-leaning social media stars have been engaged in a vicious feud. Full disclosure, I have appeared on both Maté's podcast, Pushback, as well as The Young Turks radio show. At issue is Syria and, more pointedly, the contention by both Uygur and Kasparian that Maté is shilling for President Bashar Assad.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has pledged to reduce the amount of public space dedicated to cars in one of Europe's densest cities

Paris will impose a speed limit of 30 kph (19 mph) on nearly all streets by late August in a bid to reduce accidents and noise pollution while "adapting" the city for the fight against climate change, an official said Thursday.

Mayor Anne Hidalgo, a Socialist who is weighing a run for the presidency next year, has pledged to reduce the amount of public space dedicated to cars in one of Europe's densest cities.
