Radio host Larry Elder to run in California recall election

larry elder for governor california recall

Larry Elder
The recall election is scheduled to take place on Sept. 14.

Conservative radio host Larry Elder is entering the California recall election to replace the state's Democratic governor Gavin Newsom.

Elder, 69, made the announcement on his show, which is nationally syndicated, and is expected to file papers on Tuesday.

Comment: There would appear to be no shortage of people lining up to run in the California recall election. The attitude seems to be "At the very least, I know I could do a better job then Newsom!"

Parents shouldn't have a 'veto' on children's trans medical decisions? Should we let the kids smoke and drink too?

A prominent medical journal has argued that children as young as 12 should be treated as 'equal parties' in decisions relating to transitioning. This is a blatant case of political gender ideology trumping ethics.

It's against the law for children to purchase alcohol or cigarettes in almost every country on Earth. And for good reason. We know these substances can be harmful and we protect them from exposure to them. This is hardly controversial: not even the most ardent libertarians would campaign for the rights of five-year-olds to get drunk.

Yet, when it comes to handing out puberty-blocking hormones - medication that prevents the biological changes that come with adolescence - the debate never seems to stop. Some argue it should be down to children themselves to decide whether they want to take body-altering medication. But this would be a reckless abdication of adult responsibility.

Comment: The trans agenda is getting crazier and crazier. What seems certain at this point is that, if things continue on their current trajectory, we're looking at a future generation that will be entirely broken, unable to function in normal society.

Clashes in Paris amidst protest over mandatory Covid jabs & incoming 'health pass'

paris vaccine protest

People in France have taken to the streets to protest against the government's decision to make Covid-19 vaccination compulsory for health workers and to introduce a health pass to access bars and restaurants.

Protests took place across France on Wednesday with heated clashes erupting with police in Paris. A number of groups, including those associated with the Gilets Jaunes (Yellow Vest) movement, announced their intention to hold demonstrations across the country on Tuesday following the government's announcement of compulsory vaccinations for health workers and the introduction of a national Covid-19 passport.

In Paris, eyewitness footage captured people fleeing from tear gas as police were deployed in sizable numbers to break up the demonstrations. Major city arteries could be seen blocked by protesters and police. In one instance, a canister of tear gas landed near a restaurant terrace, causing diners to scarper inside.

Comment: Rather ironic that as France celebrates Bastille Day the Macron regime has just announced some of the most draconian measures France has ever been threatened with. However, the establishment across much of the planet are acclimatizing its subjects to a similarly dystopian future:

BMJ's editor-in-chief says lab leak theory is "plausible and worthy of serious inquiry"

british medical journal bmj logo
The two most famous British medical journals are The Lancet (founded in 1823) and The BMJ (founded in 1840). The Lancet - which is arguably the more famous of the two - has come under criticism in recent months for publishing a letter that dismissed the lab leak as a "conspiracy theory".

Now the Editor-in-Chief of The BMJ has written a surprisingly bold editorial, which is titled 'Covid 19: We need a full open independent investigation into its origins'. Referencing a longer BMJ article by the science journalist Paul Thacker, she notes that "suppression of the lab leak theory was not based on any clear evaluation of the science."

She goes on to say, "We don't know which theory is right, but a lab leak is plausible and worthy of serious inquiry." And she concludes by calling for a "a full, open, and independent investigation."

Comment: The lab-leak theory, once it couldn't be suppressed, has been a boon to China-bashers on all points of the political spectrum. Lost in the rhetoric is the distinct possibility the original leak was from U.S. bio-lab, most likely Ft. Detrick.

US Navy in shambles as leaders prioritize wokeness over combat readiness: report

woke navy
A scathing report commissioned by congressional members has found that the United States Navy is in disarray and focusing more on diversity than warfighting.

The official findings, considered a nonpartisan exercise of congressional oversight, discovered that the Navy's surface warfare forces have systemic training and leadership issues, including an intense focus on diversity that eclipses basic readiness skills. The authors of the review conducted long-form interviews with 77 active-duty, retired or detached officers, and enlisted personnel about insights into the culture of the United States Navy following a series of high-profile and damaging operational failures in the Navy's surface warfare community.

A staggering 94 percent of the subjects believed the recent Naval disasters were part of a broader, internal problem. "I guarantee you every unit in the Navy is up to speed on their diversity training. I'm sorry that I can't say the same of their ship handling training," said one retired senior enlisted leader. Other interviewed participants also voiced concern that the Navy spends more time on diversity training than on developing warfighting capacity and key operational skills.

Comment: With the amount of 'wokeness' coming out of the military at this point, this report is not surprising. This is the consequence of an ideology infecting an institution - they completely lose their way.

Mel Gibson's survived charges of sexism, racism and anti-Semitism... but saluting Trump could finally bring down the cancel hammer

Actor Mel Gibson arrives at T-Mobile Arena during the UFC 264 event on July 10, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada
Woke Twitter is outraged at footage showing the Oscar winner paying tribute to the ex-president at a UFC fight. In Hollywood's eyes, this overshadows all his previous misdemeanors — and could deal a terminal blow to his career.

Mel Gibson, the movie star and Academy Award-winning director, has long been a lightning rod for his problematic behavior and beliefs. But, over the weekend, he finally crossed the line and committed the most egregious of mortal sins in the New Hollywood: he saluted Donald Trump.

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, let me fill you in. On Saturday, Trump attended the Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed-martial arts event, aka UFC 264, in Las Vegas. As he entered the arena, Gibson happened to be nearby and gave the former president a salute.

Signs and portents: George Floyd mural crumbles after witnesses say it was hit by lightening

george floyd mural destroyed lightning

Aftermath of the lighting strike on Toledo's George Floyd mural
A mural in remembrance of George Floyd in Toledo, Ohio, was reduced to rubble after a reported lightning strike.

Witnesses told Toledo Police that a lightning strike destroyed the mural, and doppler radar shows a strike hit at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday near where the mural was painted.

Photos of the destruction show part of the brick wall reduced to rubble, with fragments of mural still remaining on the wall along its border.

The piece, titled "Take a Breath," was created by local artist David Ross about one year ago in honor of Floyd, who was murdered in Minneapolis last Memorial Day by police officer Derek Chauvin.

The EU's medicines agency has once again opened a review into the safety of the vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson following a warning from the US that it may contribute to a rare nerve disorder.

In a statement to Reuters on Tuesday, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) said it was looking at data concerning the safety of the J&J Covid-19 vaccine. The "EMA's safety committee (PRAC) is analyzing data provided by [J&J]... on cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) reported following vaccination," it stated.

The medicines agency did not provide any details as to whether it had observed potential cases of GBS, but added that its review was part of regular summary safety reports.

On Monday, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added a GBS warning to the fact sheet for the J&J vaccine, which has already been investigated for links to potentially fatal blood clotting.

Comment: When it comes to Astrazeneca and J&J, mainstream news is quick to report isues but silent on the numerous problems with the Moderna and Pfizer ones (i.e. mRNA 'vaccines').

Shoot Covid-19 with guns? Comedian Rob Schneider roasted for idea that right to arms should be used against 'coercive' vaccination

Actor Rob Schneider poses at a premiere for the Netflix original film ‘Sandy Wexler’ in Los Angeles, California, US. April 6, 2017.
Comedian Rob Schneider has stirred up controversy on social media after seemingly endorsing the idea that Americans should use their Second Amendment rights to defend themselves against the country's Covid-19 vaccination drive.

On Saturday, Schneider fumed over the news that Pfizer wanted to introduce a new Covid-19 booster shot, making full vaccination against the virus a three-dose procedure. On Twitter, the comedian urged his followers to "just say no" to the vaccine.

"Over Half of the US population is continuing to say no to this unapproved experimental gene therapy! 'My body, my choice!' #2ndAmendmentIsForThis," he wrote.

Comment: There's nothing overtly controversial about Schneider's comments, while some of the responses seem disingenuous. Calling for people to stand up against coercion and mandatory medical procedures was, at least at one time, something most Americans would agree with.

US diplomat at center of railway sign theft scandal was flown back by Washington to avoid facing charges in Russia, Moscow claims

American embassy employee stealing railway sign
An American envoy accused of endangering lives by breaking and stealing a railway sign from a busy train junction left Russia to return home to the US rather than face potential criminal action, officials in Moscow have said.

Speaking as part of an interview with a news program broadcast on YouTube on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova explained that the Russian government had issued a protest to Washington over the incident, which took place last spring.

The Foreign Ministry had announced the day before that the authorities had evidence confirming that an employee of the US diplomatic mission in Moscow was behind the theft of a railway pointer signal from a junction outside a station in Ostashkov, near the Central Russian city of Tver. A video clip, made exclusively available to RT, shows the man alleged to be an American diplomat snapping off the indicator. Officials say it was a vital piece of infrastructure and its removal threatened the lives of train passengers.
