'Blackface' backlash: NBC's Megyn Kelly's career undone by ruthless liberal outrage

TV host Megyn Kelly
When NBC's Megyn Kelly started the discussion about what is appropriate and politically correct behavior at Halloween, she had no idea the segment on her morning show would provide such a conclusive answer.

Kelly was talking about what costumes are acceptable during the Halloween holiday and found herself pondering, on live TV, why a white person wearing a 'blackface' would be regarded as racist.

As she is now finding out, liberal outrage is ruthless and she's almost certain to lose her show as a result of the backlash that followed. A few seconds of unrehearsed, naive speech and a stupid mistake is all that is needed for careers to be ended.

Comment: Unfortunately this is not Kelly's first unthinking foray into fraught territory.

Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters toed the line during his show in Brazil, when he urged people to stop right-wing candidate Jair Bolsonaro seconds before he could be arrested for violating election law.

Waters, an indisputable music icon, has been in Brazil with his Us+Them tour since October 9. The singer, songwriter and bassist had performed six shows in the country before arriving in the city of Curitiba on Saturday.

At every one of his concerts, the legendary musician, known for his progressive views, decried neo-fascists, listing among them US President Donald Trump, Hungarian President Viktor Orban, and former UKIP leader Nigel Farage.

While touring Brazil, Waters added the frontrunner in the country's presidential race, Jair Bolsonaro, to this list. It caused mixed reactions among Waters' own fans, whose ranks include both supporters and opponents of the right-wing candidate from the Social Liberal Party (PSL).

A serial killer of rabbits has struck fear into the hearts of the people of a picturesque French village on the north Brittany coast.

More than 100 animals have fallen victim to the mystery killer since he or she began their murderous spree in and around the village of Minihy-Tréguier, a pretty spot popular with tourists and home to a handful of British expats.

"The village is gripped by fear," Jean-Yves Fenvarc'h, the mayor of the village of 1,300 people, told the Telegraph.

The killer sneaks into people's gardens, removes the rabbits from their hutches, kills them with a sharp object or by simply crushing them with his foot, and then leaves their dead bodies where they died.

The rabbits he kills are often kept by elderly people who house them in their gardens, sometimes alongside chickens or geese.

Leftist open borders Activists are organizing the illegal alien caravan

Immigrant caravan from Mexico
A group of 7,000 plus immigrants from Central America has been making its way through Mexico towards the United States border, with clear intentions: enter the U.S., even if that means violating American immigration laws.

One of the key organizers behind the caravan, Pueblo Sin Fronteras, or "People Without Borders," want to fly under the radar, but we're here to help lift the veil.

The New York Times has said that "no group has claimed responsibility for organizing [the most recent] caravan," but claiming responsibility and quietly funding are two different things entirely.

The first cargo train, loaded with 37 containers, left the Belgian city of Liege this week to travel to the capital city of China's Henan province. The freight route is part of China's ambitious One Belt One Road project.

The train is loaded with goods including auto parts, baby food, pharmaceuticals and steel products for import stores in central China. It will travel 12 days across the continent via Russia before arriving in Zhengzhou. The trip is to cover more than 11,000km.

The train service is scheduled to run once a week initially, with the frequency to rise in the future.

"We have every interest in turning to China and having close, strong relationships, and we must see this as an opportunity and a necessity," said Pierre-Yves Jeholet, vice president of Wallonia.

Comment: The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on.

Driving while high: Stoned drivers now outnumber drunk drivers in the US, says new study

Stoned driving is on the rise in the US, with a new study showing that THC - the main psychoactive constituent of cannabis - is now the most commonly detected intoxicating substance in American drivers.

Following the legalization of cannabis in some states, Americans are getting higher than ever before, with an estimated 15 billion hours under the influence of cannabis each year. A newly released paper, 'Driving While Stoned: Issues and Policy Options' reports that the number of people driving while high is therefore likely to increase... and the science behind accurate drug testing for cannabis products is yet to catch up.

The paper calls on stoned driving to be made a traffic offense, adding that the government should invest in messages that highlight the dangers and risks of marijuana on the motorway, as many users believe that THC does not have an impact on driving ability.

The Fourth Turning is upon us; most Americans see a sharply divided nation

Amercia poll 1
The October 2018 AP-NORC Poll national survey with 1,152 adults found 8 in 10 Americans believe the country is divided regarding essential values, and some expect the division to deepen into 2020.

Only 20% of Americans said they think the country will become less divided over the next several years, and 39% believe conditions will continue to deteriorate. A substantial majority of Americans, 77%, said they are dissatisfied with the state of politics in the country, said AP-NORC.

The nationwide survey was conducted on October 11-14, using the AmeriSpeak Panel, the probability-based panel of NORC at the University of Chicago. Overall, 59% of Americans disapprove of how Trump is handling his job as president, while 40% of Americans approve.

More specifically, the poll said 83% of Republicans approve of how Trump is handling the job, while 92% of Democrats and 61% of Independents strongly disagree.

More than half of Americans said they are not hearing nor seeing topics from midterm campaigns that are important to them. About 54% of Democrats and 44% of Republicans said vital issues, such as health care, education, and economic activity, Social Security and crime, were topics they wanted to hear more.

25% of millennials say they're suffering from PTSD due to the 2016 elections

A new psychological study from San Francisco State University claims that a full quarter of millennials are suffering from bouts of post traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, because of the 2016 elections.

The study is by no means comprehensive - the research pool was limited to 769 students studying psychology at Arizona State University - but of those millennials chosen for the test, 25% reported experiencing "clinically significant" levels of stress, along with other symptoms of PTSD.

Students were evaluated using an "Impact of Event" scale, which measures stress levels at various times following a major traumatic event, typically a tragedy or a personal illness or injury. The results, the Washington Examiner reports, "indicated that students' average stress score was similar to those of witnesses of a mass shooting seven months after the incident."

Comment: Only 25%? Surely the number must be higher. There are just so many things to be offended about. See also: Safetyism And The Destruction of a Generation

"Jews are the children of Satan" and other anti-Semitic conspiracies of synagogue shooter

The gunman behind the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, Robert Bowers, was active and outspoken on social media, publishing bizarre posts in which he slammed Jews, diversity, and Donald Trump.

Moments before entering the synagogue on Saturday morning, the 46-year-old wrote on the social network Gab that he was "going in," stating that he couldn't "sit by and watch my people get slaughtered." That comment was in reference to the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), which he says "brings invaders in that kill our people."

Three days ago on the same social network, Bowers posted a "daily reminder" in which he said that "diversity means chasing down the last white person."

Comment: Despite the liberal media claims that 'supporting Trump means you are alt-right", this man was against Trump and demonstrates what the real alt-right is like. Trump has denied any links to the attack.
Speaking to reporters ahead his scheduled rally in Illinois, the president confirmed that at least 11 people were killed as 46-year-old Robert Bowers opened fire on worshipers inside the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh during a Saturday service. Three or four police officers were injured in a stand-off with the attacker.

At the rally, Trump called the carnage "a monstrous killing" and thanked the officers for apprehending the suspect.

The president doubled down on his earlier call for capital punishment for the attacker.

"When you have crimes like this, we'll have to bring back the death penalty. They have to pay the ultimate price," he said. In the wake of the deadly shooting, Trump said that the US government "should stiffen up" laws, so it can bring perpetrators of such heinous acts to due justice.
In the wake of the shooting, social media platform Gab has taken the blame for the shooting, with some calling it the "alt-right's favorite platform". Paypal has terminated their agreement with Gab due to violations of their terms of service although they aren't specific as to what exactly. Twitter and Facebook also hosted some of the shooter's content but they have yet to face any repercussions.

Former President Barack Obama has delivered a speech for the first time since the US Secret Service intercepted a package with a potentially explosive device in his mail this week.

Standing in front of a crowd in a Milwaukee high school gymnasium on Friday, ex-president Barack Obama targeted his succesor Donald Trump's tenure in office, slamming the GOP and the commander-in-chief for "making stuff up."

While Obama didn't mention Trump by name, he cited the president's recent remark that he would pass a tax cut before the midterm elections slated for November 6.
