Police on the Italian island of Sicily have arrested an ambulance worker suspected of killing people to earn money from a funeral parlour linked to the mafia.

The man is alleged to have injected air into the veins of at least three terminally ill patients as they were transported back to their homes.

He is said to have been paid €300 (£265) for each corpse.

Italian media have dubbed it the "ambulances of death" scandal.

Police arrested the man after a contact, said to be a reformed mafia member, gave details to authorities in the city of Catania and to an investigative TV programme. The ambulance worker is charged with voluntary homicide.

California cops investigating 10 random shootings targeting drivers

Fresno and Madera County law officers are now investigating up to 10 shootings in which drivers are randomly fired upon, officials said Thursday.

Detectives are looking for a dark-colored, four-wheel-drive pickup with oversize tires and an extended or crew cab, Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims said during a news conference Thursday morning. She was joined at the conference by Madera County Sheriff Jay Varney and California Highway Patrol Capt. Eric Johnson, commander for the Fresno area. Valley Crime Stoppers also upped the reward to $3,000 for anyone who provides information leading to an arrest.

One person has been injured in the random shootings, a woman who sustained shrapnel wounds, apparently from broken glass. But, "If this keeps going, we are going to have a murder investigation," Mims warned.

The initial round of shootings happened between Nov. 27 and Dec. 7 in Fresno and Madera counties. In each case, the victims said they heard loud bangs as a vehicle passed them heading the opposite direction. More have occurred since then.

German police arrest 'ISIS-linked' man suspected of plotting car-ramming attack

German police escort a man, suspected of planning to carry out a ramming attack, prior to his transportation to the federal court of justice on December 21, 2017.
German police have detained a man who they believe was plotting a car-ramming attack near an ice-skating rink in the city of Karlsruhe. He reportedly has connections to Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS).

Investigators say that preliminary information suggests the man, identified as 29-year-old German citizen 'Dasbar W.,' planned to ram a vehicle into the stands near the ice-skating rink, which is located in the center of the southwestern city of Karlsruhe. He allegedly scouted the location in August and had unsuccessfully tried to get a job as a delivery driver, which would have given him access to the area and a vehicle.

The suspect is also said to have been distributing IS propaganda videos and promoting its ideology in Whatsapp group chats. Prosecutors say he traveled to Iraq twice between 2015 and July 2017 to join IS and undergo firearms training. They also say he carried out reconnaissance missions for militant attacks in the city of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Russia sees US fast food and media culture as detrimental to their society

russian mcdonalds
As U.S.-Russian relations deteriorate, the contrast between Washington and Moscow reveals just what each nation fears and what their policy priorities are. The United States has taken several symbolic steps that offend Russia, like renaming D.C. streets near the Russian embassy after Putin's political rival. The main U.S. reaction has been journalists and establishment politicians alleging various Russian plots to destroy American democracy and collude with the Trump campaign.

Such allegations do not require any effort, they are not subject to any legal standard of evidence, and they serve mainly to keep the American public suspicious of foreigners so no one asks any questions about how our own politicians have corrupted the judiciary and bastardized the democratic process.

Consider the contrast of Russian symbolic actions in this spat. The legislature has proposed classifying U.S. media outlets and fast food chains operating in Russia as foreign agents, which would revoke some press credentials and impose restrictions on advertisements. Unlike the impotent sputtering of American politicians in "The World's Greatest Deliberative Body," the Russian legislature actually has the wherewithal to give their complaints the force of law.

Comment: It's quite clear by now that America is going down the tubes. At least in Russia they're taking steps to prevent this. As they say, a wise man learns from his mistakes, a genius learns from others'. See also:

Palestinians with the help of social media are winning the online battle for Jerusalem

A Palestinian woman documents clashes in Jerusalem's Old City on 8 December 2017
December sparked worldwide outrage, especially among Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims and pro-Palestine supporters.

Popular demonstrations took place from Morocco to Indonesia amid a shy reaction from politicians in many Arab countries.

As protests have continued in Gaza and the West Bank for two weeks now, with reports of homemade projectiles fired from Gaza without any Palestinian faction claiming responsibility, disproportionate force has been used by Israeli occupation forces. Shocking scenes have emerged of Palestinian children arrested, handcuffed and blindfolded, as in the case of the teenager Fawzi al-Junadi who was photographed surrounded by 22 heavily armed Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

HuffPost blogger Andy Ostroy tweets racist remarks about Sen. Tim Scott; calling him a black 'prop'

Andy Ostroy, a political and pop culture blogger at the left-wing Huffington Post, attacked Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) by calling him a "black ... prop" during Wednesday afternoon's media event surrounding the successful passage of the GOP's tax relief bill.

The now-deleted tweet read, "What a shocker... there's ONE black person there and sure enough they have him standing right next to the mic like a manipulated prop. Way to go @SenatorTimScott."

In a single tweet, Ostroy, who is a white male, used the color of Scott's skin to demean him as a man, to assume he had done nothing of consequence to earn a spot near the president, and to further assume Scott had allowed himself to be used as a prop, a shield, a token.

Comment: It's amazing how, in denouncing racism, the leftist authoritarians are becoming more and more racist. How can it not when 'Identity-politics' exerts its effort to further and further separate people into ever-shrinking group identities based on simplistic racial and gender roles? If race is all you see, then racism can be the only end result.

Palm Springs officials say they'll remove 'nasty racist trees' from golf course

A Palm Springs golf course is removing its "racist" trees from the grounds. The trees, which were planted in the early 1960s, are said to have been designed to segregate the golf course from a historically black neighborhood.
Government officials in Palm Springs, California, announced this week that they will remove what some consider to be "racist" trees from the city-owned Tahquitz Creek Golf Course.

What's the history?

The trees, which line a golf course and were planted in the early 1960s, are said to have been designed to segregate the golf course from a historically black neighborhood.

The tree removal project, which will cost $169,000, is a much-needed project according to some Palm Springs residents who say that the trees are a painful reminder of past misdeeds against minorities.

Comment: The accusation against inanimate objects as being racist is so absurd it's mind-boggling. And the irony in Daniel saying the trees are "nasty" saying they "aren't from here" (see video) is seriously too much. He's essentially racist against the trees! See also:

ISIS 'hit squads' are using the tide of refugees to attack Western nations

Terrorist
I know that the headline sounds over the top, but this has actually been confirmed by German intelligence and by the mainstream media. ISIS terrorists have been using the refugee program to sneak into North America and Europe, and yet very little is being done to stop this from happening. One of the reasons why this hits so close to home for me is because leftists are pushing to bring a lot more Islamic refugees up here to north Idaho. Since our area has a low population density, a significant number of refugees could dramatically alter the character of our community very rapidly. Many moved up here in order to have a safe place to raise their families, but now the left seems determined to bring the danger of Islamic extremism to our local neighborhoods.

Refugees typically have little or no paperwork, and it can be exceedingly difficult to tell a terrorist apart from a non-terrorist. German intelligence has discovered that ISIS has been using this confusion to smuggle "hit squads" and "sleeper cells" into Germany...
German intelligence services have evidence that "hit squads" from the Islamic State terror group have infiltrated the country disguised as refugees, the deputy head of Bavaria's spy agency told the BBC Thursday.

"We have to accept that we have hit squads and sleeper cells in Germany," Manfred Hauser, the vice president of the Bavaria region's intelligence gathering agency, BayLfV, told the Today program.

"We have substantial reports that among the refugees there are hit squads. There are hundreds of these reports, some from refugees themselves. We are still following up on these, and we haven't investigated all of them fully," said Hauser.

Comment: While it's true that terrorists are likely making good use of mass immigration, it's also true that, in the United States especially, the Islamic terrorist is more of an FBI-manufactured phenomenon than anything else.

First wave of steel posts installed along Las Vegas Strip

Steel posts in Vegas
© Bizuayehu Tesfaye/Las Vegas Review-Journal
Clark County on Wednesday finished installing close to 800 steel posts between the street and sidewalks along the Las Vegas Strip to increase pedestrian safety.

The posts, known as bollards, are interconnected by underground steel frames. They can withstand a head-on collision from a 15,000-pound vehicle traveling 50 mph.

The posts were installed at seven locations between Tropicana Avenue and Spring Mountain Road. Next year the county plans to install 7,500 bollards along the Strip between Sahara Avenue and the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign.

Comment: Las Vegas' revenues have plunged since the Mandalay Bay shooting. It is no surprise that 'Vegas' would want to make gamblers feel more secure.

U.S.-backed SDF arresting Assad supporters in Syria after top Kurdish commander kidnapped

sdf syria
Following the sudden disappearance of a top Kurdish commander within the ranks of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces in east Syria, pro-Coalition fighters have begun arresting supposed supporters of President Bashar al-Assad.

According to reports from opposition sources, an important commander within the ranks of the Coalition-led Syrian Democratic Forces, one Abu Hadid Ocelan, was kidnapped from the village Jia'a near the Euphrates River in the northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor province.

Reports go on to claim that security elements within the US-backed Syrian alliance group have begun arresting suspected Assad supporters throughout areas in Deir Ezzor province under its control.

At the present time, Al-Masdar News is unable to confirm opposition claims on the matter.

If the reports are true, then it remains unclear why US-backed forces have come to the assumption that Assad supporters in the areas controlled by them are responsible for the kidnapping of one of their commanders.

Comment: The SDF are traitors, plain and simple. It's still unclear what exactly the U.S. hopes to use them for: start another war against Assad? Stall the political process by holding out for independence? The border with Iraq is secured. The oil infrastructure held by the Kurds in Syria is negligible. The Arabs in the Kurdish-held areas won't go along with Kurdish desire for an autonomous "Kurdish" region. And Turkey will not allow a Syrian Kurdistan on the border. Any Kurdish obstruction will be unwelcome by everyone except the U.S. and Israel and their sycophantic "allies".
