American Job Loss Is Permanent

Now that a few Democrats and the remnants of the AFL-CIO are waking up to the destructive impact of jobs offshoring on the US economy and millions of American lives, globalism's advocates have resurrected Dartmouth economist Matthew Slaughter's discredited finding of several years ago that jobs off-shoring by US corporations increases employment and wages in the US.

At the time I exposed Slaughter's mistakes, but economists dependent on corporate largess understood that it was more profitable to drink Slaughter's kool-aid than to tell the truth. Recently the US Chamber of Commerce rolled out Slaughter's false argument as a weapon against House Democrats Sandy Levin and Tim Ryan, and the Wall Street Journal had Bill Clinton's Defense Secretary, William S. Cohen, regurgitate Slaughter's claim on its op-ed page on October 12.

I sent a letter to the Wall Street Journal, but the editors were not interested in what a former associate editor and columnist for the paper and President Reagan's Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy had to say. The facade of lies has to be maintained at all costs. There can be no questioning that globalism is good for us.

The UN press office said a bedbug-sniffing dog had confirmed the presence of bedbugs in furniture in the basement of the Dag Hammarskjold Library
New York City's bedbug epidemic has spread to yet another landmark - the United Nations, officials at the world organization said on Wednesday.

The pests appeared at places like the Empire State Building and Bloomingdale's before reaching the city's centre of international diplomacy on the East Side of Manhattan.

The UN press office said a bedbug-sniffing dog had confirmed the presence of bedbugs in furniture in the basement of the Dag Hammarskjold Library, where the offices of the team overseeing the UN headquarter's $1.9 billion (£1.2 billion) renovation project are housed.

"This furniture has been moved to a part of the building not occupied by staff to facilitate fumigation," it said.

The library is a three-story annex to the main building.

UK: Files say David Kelly wasn't murdered, but doubts still abound

The British whistleblower who was behind revelations that the UK government had "sexed up" a dossier on Iraq before the 2003 invasion did indeed commit suicide, say newly-released medical reports.

But at least some of the doctors who have called for a full inquiry are skeptical of the results, arguing there is "nothing new" in the years-old post-mortem reports the British government released Friday morning.

Dr. David Kelly was found dead in a field near his home in Oxfordshire in 2003, shortly after he was revealed to be the source of a BBC leak that accused Tony Blair's government of exaggerating the threat posed by Saddam Hussein. His death prompted suspicions among many that he may have been killed in retaliation for the leak.

Doctors with questionable records earn a lot as drug firms' speakers

The Ohio medical board concluded that pain physician William D. Leak had performed unnecessary nerve tests on 20 patients and subjected some to "an excessive number of invasive procedures.'' Yet the finding, posted on the board's public website, did not prevent Eli Lilly and Co. from using him as a promotional speaker and adviser.

In 2001, the US Food and Drug Administration ordered Pennsylvania doctor James I. McMillen to stop "false or misleading'' promotions of the painkiller Celebrex, saying he minimized risks and touted it for unapproved uses.

Still, three other drug makers have paid the rheumatologist $224,163 since 2009 to deliver talks to other physicians about their drugs.

Vaccinated by force, now autistic

This little girl was taken out of the arms of her mother who didn't want her vaccinated, forcibly given vaccines, and ended up in critical condition that very day!

It is NOT the law that you must vaccinate your children (no matter what the doctor or schools tell you), and you can sign a form to make your child exempt.

Scientific Consensus: MSG, GMO's, and Aspartame are Good for Your Health

GMO Food

As human beings, we're the only species stupid enough to actually poison ourselves. As part of modern living, we create a wide variety of chemical toxins that go into the ecosystem through rivers and streams, the air, the soil and so on.

MSG - is one thing we humans are very fond of adding to our foods. Monosodium glutamate is a widely used food additive. It is the sodium salt of glutamic acid. MSG is a form of glutamate, a carefully regulated neurotransmitter. This food additive is produced by fermenting sugar beet molasses, and the overly processed form is a fine white crystal that resembles salt or sugar.

MSG doesn't really have a taste of its own but is used to enhance the flavor of other ingredients. It is put in nearly every canned, packaged, or otherwise processed food out on the market. MSG fools the brain into thinking that something tastes better than it actually does, so it may be used in place of quality ingredients. We humans love that snack aisle.

Even though the Food and Drug Administration has received many anecdotal reports of adverse reactions to foods containing MSG over the years, they still classify MSG as an ingredient that is "generally recognized as safe". Some common symptoms include headaches, sweating, flushing, weakness, nausea, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, facial tightness and tingling and burning of the face or neck. To we humans these symptoms mean we are eating right well.

Many Americans Plan to Skip Flu Shot This Year

One reason people refuse to take the flu shot is that they engage in 'magical thinking'. The Truther Girls take some time out to debunk popular misconceptions.

One-third of women abused in world: UN

A UN official says violence against women has increased across the world and more than one-third of the world's female population has suffered domestic abuse.

In a Tuesday press conference at the UN headquarters, vice-chairwoman of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) Zou Xiaoqaio said that international campaigns have not been successful in decreasing domestic violence in the world.

"At least one of every three women has been beaten, coerced into sex or abused in some other way, usually by an intimate partner or family member," Zou said, quoting a new report by the UN Population Fund.

According to Zou, not all the 186 countries which have signed the 1979 Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women have effectively followed it to help women.

"Women continue to be raped and subject to other forms of sexual violence with impunity all over the world," she said, adding that in some countries, rape charges against an offender can be dropped if he marries the victim.

"Women and girls are still being sold for sex around the world. Two million girls between the ages of five and 15 are introduced into the commercial sex market each year."

"You Cannot Criticize Israel In This Country And Survive" - Helen Thomas Defends Comments on Israelis in Radio Interview

Thomas Says Remarks on Israelis 'Distorted,' Calls Charge of Anti-Semitism 'Baloney'

Veteran White House journalist Helen Thomas, who resigned in June over comments many viewed as anti-Semitic, has taken to the airwaves to defend the remarks, saying they were "exactly what I thought."

"I hit the third rail," Thomas told Ohio radio station WMRN-AM in an interview that aired today. "You cannot criticize Israel in this country and survive."

Thomas, 90, caused an uproar May 27 when she said Israelis should "get the hell out of Palestine" and "go home" to Poland, Germany, America and "everywhere else."
