NYC department store security guard filmed tackling teen to the ground, charged with assault

Shocking footage of a department store's security guard tackling and punching a teen who was suspected of shoplifting at the lower Manhattan, New York premises has led to the employee being charged with assault.

Video of the incident, which happened Friday night, shows the teen being pinned to the ground by three Century 21 security officers as the youth shouts out, "What are you doing, I'm 18, I can't breathe." One of the security personnel appears to strike the teen with his fist.

In a longer video of the incident, also captured by Brian Fraser and posted on a friend's Twitter account, security can be heard telling onlookers to move away for their own safety as a female friend threatens to call police.

"What are you doing to this black man? I'm calling the cops," she shouts as the alleged thief, identified as Victor Roberson, is dragged along the sidewalk.

The salaries of CEOs have ballooned over the past 50 years, extending huge gaps with those of their employees. Today, so-called 'fat cats' can earn the annual salary of a typical worker by lunchtime.

In its latest filing, Walmart disclosed that company CEO Doug McMillon's total compensation rose two percent in 2017 to $22.8 million. Meanwhile, the firm's median employee earned $19,177 in the same period.

The largest chunk of McMillon's compensation came in the form of stock awards. He has held the company's top job since 2014.

Walmart, which is the largest private-sector employer in the US, has around 2.3 million global employees, including full-time and part-time workers.

The Bureau of Investigation was founded in 1908 by a man named Charles Joseph Bonaparte, the great nephew of Napoleon. It remained a relatively marginal slice of the US Department of Justice until an ambitious sociopath named J Edgar Hoover rode a Red Scare panic to the top of the law enforcement food chain and used blackmail and illegal wiretapping to exponentially expand its size, scope and power under its new name, the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Hoover ruled over America with an iron fist for nearly five decades as the head of the FBI. He bullied, blackmailed and crushed anyone who stood in between him and his insatiable drive to acquire more power, eventually forming the frequently Constitution-violating Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO) in the 1950s.

COINTELPRO was used to infiltrate and undermine any activist groups Hoover personally disliked under the pretense of protecting the nation from violence, targeting everyone from feminist groups to antiwar activists.

'Netanyahu resign!' Hundreds of Israelis protest against US embassy move, Jerusalem Day parade

Hundreds of people hit the streets of Jerusalem late Saturday to protest against the relocation of the US embassy to the city and a Jerusalem Day parade, saying that both only serve to escalate tensions with Palestine.

The demonstration, organized by co-existence group Standing Together and settlement watchdog Peace Now, saw at least 100 protesters march from King George Street to the Old City's Jaffa Gate.

Video footage posted by Ruptly agency showed protesters carrying placards with slogans including "Don't set Jerusalem on fire." They shouted slogans such as "We oppose an escalation [of the security situation]" and "Netanyahu - resign! Peace is worth more [than the embassy move]," the Jerusalem Post reported.

Russian embassy in Paris requests info from France on knife attacker's citizenship

The Russian embassy in Paris has requested information on the nationality of the man who killed one and injured several others with a knife in the city. Reports claim that he was born in Chechnya but had French citizenship.

"We have requested information on the nationality of the attacker and we are currently waiting for a response from the French authorities," Anna Shlychkova from the embassy's press service told RT.

On Saturday evening, the attacker shouted "Allahu akbar" as he stabbed five people with a knife. One of the victims, a 29-year-old man, later died from his injuries. The perpetrator was killed by security services.

Yvette Felarca is a leader of a Berkeley area Antifa group called By Any Means Necessary (BAMN). Last July Felarca was arrested on charges of inciting a riot and felony assault over an incident that took place in Sacramento in 2016. In February of this year, Felarca and two other Antifa defendants asked a judge to dismiss the charges on the grounds that she is the victim of a "political witch hunt" involving a cover-up and police collusion with fascist protesters.


Comment: Unfortunately for Felarca, she and her Antifa group are the real fascists who decided to assault people who merely disagreed with their political views.


Today, County Court judge Michael Savage ruled the felony case against Felarca could proceed. From Berkeleyside:
[Judge] Savage did not accept the defense's argument that the charges were discriminatory.

"Simply nothing in these exhibits supports the defendants' claims...that they were unjustly or unfairly culled out," he said in court...

"No one from my office really cares" about the defendants' racial or political identities, said Paris Coleman, Sacramento County deputy district attorney. "That's not why they were charged. They are captured on video committing crimes, unfortunately for them."

After its lengthy investigation, the CHP submitted more than 100 arrest warrants from the rally, but the DA determined that most did not meet the office's standards for filing charges, or were not backed by enough evidence, according to a statement by the DA. Coleman said the DA had the ethical obligation to go after the cases that could be proven, and nothing else...

Felarca's attorneys have argued that the video showing her assault is inadmissible as evidence because it is "unauthenticated."

The woman, dirty, disheveled and in tears, ran over to a patrol car parked along a Harlem street in the early morning of Jan. 18, 1991. She told police officers she had been kidnapped at knife point near her home in Queens and raped by three black men, whom she identified.

Before the end of the month, the police arrested two of the men she had named - Gregory Counts, then 19, and VanDyke Perry, then 21. They were charged with rape, sodomy, kidnapping and criminal possession of a weapon, according to court records. The third man was never caught.

Investigators had no physical evidence. Semen recovered from the woman did not match the two accused men. The prosecution's case relied heavily on her testimony, which was inconsistent. The defense argued the woman, a recovering crack addict, fabricated the story to protect her boyfriend, who had shot Mr. Perry two months earlier and was wanted by the police, court records show.

Yet, in 1992, a jury convicted Mr. Counts and Mr. Perry on all counts except for the weapons charges. Mr. Perry ended up serving 11 years in prison, Mr. Counts 26.

Comment: Until there becomes a law making false accusations an actual crime, there will be no deterrance against this. People have lost years of their life and no one is punished for it.
