Campaigners protest against the sale of British weapons to Saudi Arabia for use in the ongoing war in Yemen
Almost half of the British public are unaware a war is going on in Yemen, a Yougov poll has revealed, as a Labour MP accuses the government of having "blood on its hands" while it continues to sell arms to Saudi Arabia.

Keith Vaz, chair of the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on Yemen, told the Independent that it's the "forgotten war." His claim appears to be backed up by a recent poll commissioned by NGO Human Appeal, which found that 42% of British respondents could not identify Yemen as a warzone - a war that has seen three years of bloodshed and at least 10,000 people killed, according to the UN.

'Fake News made me do it': Would-be terrorist's lawyers deploy 'Trump defense' in court

Attorneys for wannabe bomber Patrick Stein are asking a judge to consider the toxic political climate when sentencing their client, who called himself "Orkin Man" and wanted to exterminate Muslim "cockroaches."

Stein is facing 15 years to life on charges of weapons of mass destruction and conspiracy against civil rights. He was convicted in April alongside two other Kansas militiamen for plotting with an FBI informant and undercover agent to bomb an apartment complex in Garden City, where Muslim refugees from Somalia lived.

Comment: FBI entrapment of Muslims was useful in creating the illusion of terrorist boogeymen around every corner that the Deep State needed to continue on with their wars in the Middle East. Now, the entrapment of white male Trump supporters is being used as a means of demonizing Trump.

An Islamic State terrorist cell that was planning attacks in the Russian capital was detained in Moscow Region on Friday, Russia's Security Service (FSB) said.

The group consisted of six members, who received commands from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) terrorist kingpins in Syria, the FSB said in a statement.

"The detained planned to carry out resonant terrorist attacks in Moscow, using both firearms and improvised explosive devices," the statement read.

The group was funded by money transfers from abroad and through local criminal activity. It put much effort into covering up its operations and avoiding detection by police.

Twitter erupts over 'Christian Rabbi' who fails to name Pittsburgh victims, asks people to pray for GOP at Pence rally

A makeshift memorial outside the Tree of Life synagogue.
A 'Christian Rabbi' who offered prayers for victims of the Pittsburgh massacre failed to mention them by name and called upon people to pray for the GOP. Americans didn't appear to find it patriotic.

Vice President Mike Pence held the rally in the Waterford Township of Detroit. It took place less than 48 hours after the Pittsburgh Synagogue tragedy and was opened by a rabbi who held a prayer to honor the victims.

Rabbi Loren Jacobs represents the Messianic synagogue Shema Yisrael based in Michigan. Though the followers call themselves members of Messianic Judaism, a combination of Christianity and Judaism, many of the main Jewish movements refuse to accept them as 'true' Jews.

Pence couldn't possibly "have done something more offensive to Jews" than choose Jacobs to open the rally, people on Twitter were quick to point out.

Matt Drudge slams Fox News for laughing during synagogue shooting segment

Matt Drudge Fox News

Matt Drudge hosting his show on Fox News in 1999 and the Fox News panel he criticized on October 29, 2018.
Conservative political commentator Matt Drudge has lashed out at Fox News over a panel on political violence in the US. Critics called him a cherry-picking hypocrite who misrepresented the network's coverage.

On Monday, Drudge broke his silence on Twitter to criticize Fox News for making light of the political climate in America. He posted screenshots of smiling Fox panelists, whose cheerfulness apparently clashed with the phrase "Questions on how mail-bomb scare, synagogue attack could impact midterm voters eight days from now" below.

"Not even 48 hours since blood flowed at synagogue? Check your soul in the makeup chair!" he wrote.

Comment: Drudge seems to have knocked a screw loose! Seems in his outrage he missed the message about the value of civility during tragedies. In any case, we're seeing more and more of this rabid misconstruction of reality. The social climate has been primed for people to take offense at pretty much anything and interpret intentions in the worst light possible. People appear to be quickly losing the ability to discern information within context. It seems relational understanding is being bypassed in favor of impulsive and aggressive emotion, which is perversely given the full authority of truth by its mere existence. This is a growing trend, fostered in no small part out of the acceptance of 'accusation as fact' craze in the anti-Russian crusade and the #metoo movement.

Two women of a same-sex couple each carried their son during pregnancy in what has been hailed a medical first. The unusual IVF method managed to save the family money, too.

Ashleigh and Bliss Coulter from Mountain Springs, Texas both wanted to experience carrying their child and, thanks to a novel IVF method, known as reciprocal effortless in vitro fertilization, this was able to become a reality.

"This represents the first time that two women have both physically carried their child together," fertility specialist Dr. Kathy Doody of The Center for Assisted Reproduction told CBS11.

Doctors from Doody's clinic placed a capsule containing Bliss's eggs fertilized with donor sperm into Bliss's body, creating a kind of incubator for the cells, keeping them warm and shedding any toxins.

A laser was shone into the cockpit of a passenger plane which was flying at 29,000ft (8,840m). Humberside police have confirmed the incident happened on Saturday as the plane flew over North East Lincolnshire.

The Scandinavian commercial flight from Manchester to Bilund, Denmark, was hit by the laser at 18:45 GMT on Sunday.

A spokesman for the force stated that the "captain of the flight reported to National Air Traffic Services (NATS) that he was over the Ottringham Beacon and had the cockpit illuminated by a laser coming from a coastal town to the starboard (right) side of aircraft.

"The NATS team have assessed the flight's path and location and have assessed that it came from the Grimsby area."

100-name 'hit list' reportedly found in US mail bomber's van

Cesar Sayoc, suspected of mailing at least 15 pipe bombs to prominent Democrats, was just getting started, according to law enforcement sources who say they found a "hit list" of over 100 names in his Trump-spangled van.

The list, which includes names and addresses, was found in the van where he is believed to have lived and constructed the devices. Sources familiar with the probe say Sayoc told FBI agents and other authorities that he did not mean to hurt the targets during a brief interview at their South Florida field office.

The fifteenth envelope - a third mailing destined for CNN headquarters in Atlanta after two earlier packages were sent to the station's New York offices - was intercepted Monday afternoon at a postal facility.

Comment: The Twitterati weighed in almost immediately, as hundreds of armchair detectives dug into Sayoc's background and cast scorn of the over-the-top van decals and amateurish "bomb" construction. Many remarked on the fact that the postage stamps on the packages were never cancelled, and how would a nobody find George Soros' home address to make a delivery.

Human head brought to police station fools officers, who thought it was Halloween prank. It wasn't

When someone told Oakland, California, police on Friday they'd brought a severed human head to the downtown station, officers at first suspected a Halloween prank, KGO reported.

Then they took a closer look, the station reported.

"It was decomposed and had a little bit of flesh on it," Sgt. Michael Cardoza told KGO. "I can say in my years of service I've never had a human skull delivered to the police station."

Two visitors to an Oakland apartment complex had discovered the decaying head in the backyard earlier Friday morning, The San Francisco Chronicle reported. They decided to take it to police.

"They thought it was real enough that it had to be brought to our attention immediately," Cardoza told KGO.
