Retired Indian general disgusts audience with calls for mass rape of Muslim women in Kashmir

A former Indian Army major general has 'gone dark' after his angry call during a TV debate for "death for death, rape for rape" in Kashmir caused a public outcry among civilians and the military.

A political talk show on the TV9 Bharatvarsh channel was about the exodus of non-Muslim families from Kashmir Valley. Since the 1990s, hundreds of thousands of people were forced to flee, when they were targeted by a Muslim insurgency in a campaign of ethnic cleansing that involved kidnappings, assassinations, rapes, and other crimes.

The on-camera debate descended into a shouting match, and at one point S P Sinha, the retired major general screamed his vision of retaliation: "Death for death, rape for rape," the Print reported. The plan sounded like one from an age when women were considered to be a man's property under talionic justice, but would obviously be a war crime if there was a politician crazy enough to implement it today.

Four people were killed and six others wounded in a shooting Sunday night in California. Fresno Police Lieutenant Bill Dooley said a suspect or suspects sneaked into a football viewing party in a backyard and opened fire, according to CBS Fresno affiliate KGPE-TV.

There were about 35 people at the party, he said. Fresno Police Deputy Chief Michael Reid told the station 10 people were hit, three died on the spot and another at the hospital where the rest of the victims were taken. The other six were said to have suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

"Thank God that no kids were hurt," Reid said.

Police said the victims were Asian males between the ages 25 and 35.

A police captain in Seattle was among the five men arrested this week in a prostitution sting, reports say.

Capt. Randal Woolery, a member of the Seattle Police Department for 31 years, was placed on administrative leave following his arrest Wednesday in north Seattle, KING-TV reported.

The station reported not being able to reach Woolery for comment. An email Saturday seeking comment from Fox News wasn't immediately returned.

The UCU's 'position statement' did not just stand by its support for self-identification of gender, but also insisted people can choose their own race, saying: 'Our rules commit us to ending all forms of discrimination, bigotry and stereotyping. UCU has a long history of enabling members to self-identify whether that is being black, disabled, LGBT+ or women.'

Comment: It's a truly bizarre phenomenon to witness - people lying to themselves about who they are and, despite the obvious fact that it's a lie, everyone not only going along with it, but screaming in outrage at anyone who doesn't. 'Clown World' doesn't even come close to encapsulating this.

Comment: Oh boy. The idea that someone can improve their athletic performance (or literally any performance) by going vegan is in for a rude awakening at some point. Recent "documentary" by James Cameron and The Arnold, The Game Changers is a dangerous propaganda piece trying to convince people that they will be better athletes by avoiding animal products. Be prepared to see a glut of "super-athletes" in the future, if they try to go the vegan road.

This Brooklyn Nets star (who was crowned one of PETA's Most Beautiful Vegans of 2019!) is thrilled by what going vegan has done for his body and stamina.

Comment: The sad thing about all this is that these NBA players are being lied to and are in-turn passing on the lies to the kids who look up to them. As was said in the opening comment, these players likely have a rude awakening coming to them. It could take years, and they may never be able to tie a drop in their performance, athletic or otherwise, to the change they made in their diets.

Late night talk show host Bill Maher has had a change of heart, telling his audience that he plans to tamp down his anti-Trump comedy over fears that America's political divisiveness could spark a second civil war.

"I have been guilty of saying things like that," Maher said on his HBO show "Real Time" on Friday, referring to mocking conservatives. "I'm going to try to stop. I've learned that the anti-intellectualism of the right doesn't come primarily from stupidity, it comes from hate. Telling people they're irredeemable is what makes them say, 'You know what, I'd rather side with Russia than you.'"

Comment: Despite the fact that he occasionally has a good thought cross his vacuous mind, Bill Maher is an ass. And while the article above commends Maher for encouraging his audience to rethink their anger, even while he's calling for less divisiveness he's still mocking his political opponents. That's not toning it down, Bill. And his praise GWB at the end was really the icing on the cake.

The bridge leading to the town of Mirepoix-sur-Tarn in the south west France département of Haut-Garonne collapsed at about 8am on Monday, sending a car plunging into the river below.

According to local newspaper La Dêpeche, the car contained a 15-year-old boy and his parents and the boy died at the scene.

The 150m long suspension bridge had a weight limit, and initial reports suggested that a large lorry had driven onto it when it collapsed.

Eleven federal MPs have joined forces to agitate for the Morrison government to intervene in the United States' attempts to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange from Britain to stand trial on espionage charges.

Independent MP Andrew Wilkie said the cross-party group, which includes two Nationals MPs, two Labor MPs and members of The Greens and the cross bench, would provide a forum to "discuss matters" relating to Mr Assange returning to Australia.

Mr Assange told a London judge on Monday he was in an inequitable fight against a superpower, which had been spying on his "interior life" and on confidential meetings with his legal team.

Queensland MP George Christensen will co-chair the group along with Mr Wilkie, a long-time supporter of the Australian.
