Accusations have been circulating on Twitter that the prominent Yale professor, known for her public diagnosis of President Donald Trump as having a "mental impairment" and who recently met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss the issue, isn't actually a licensed psychiatrist.
As journos look for the next men to expose, some have wondered how far all this will go, or what happens when one of those men is adamant he didn't do it. After all, few of these stories have been accompanied by police reports, DNA evidence or criminal prosecutions.
After a storied 50-year career as actor and producer that includes two Oscars, Michael Douglas finds himself accused of something tawdry he says he didn't do: masturbate in front of a former employee. Noticing that too many of the recent stories could be best described as She Said, He's Gone, Douglas was uncomfortable waiting to be the villain in a narrative crafted by either The Hollywood Reporter or Variety, two publications he said have reached out to possibly publish allegations involving an employee claiming something happened over 30 years ago, which he vehemently denies.
Even though he understands he is inviting scrutiny by volunteering details that could harm his career if other women come forward with more accusations, Douglas felt strongly enough that he would prefer to have some control over the narrative that he asked to tell Deadline his story. The accusation story most likely will follow elsewhere, but in this moment of "she said, he said" trial by journalism, it was never specified whose version had to be first. So here, Douglas states his case.
As State Rep. Steve Alford, R-Ulysses, was failing miserably attempting to make his point on why marijuana should remain illegal in the state of Kansas, he began with unfounded and debunked myths before jumping off the racist deep end.
Remaining entirely ignorant to the massive amount of evidence to the contrary, Alford attempted to paint marijuana as a gateway drug.
"Basically any way you say it, marijuana is an entry drug into the higher drugs," Alford said.
WRONG.
Trump signed the Interdict Act into law on Wednesday in a bipartisan effort to provide US customs agents with $9 million for additional portable chemical screening devices to check travelers, mail and packages.
A sponsor of the bill, Senator Edward Markey (D-Massachusetts), said 80 to 90 percent of the drugs are coming from China. Another sponsor, Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin), told Trump: "This is why people elected you,"the Washington Times reports.
Trump called the bill signing "a significant step forward" in the battle against the opioid crisis that is killing tens of thousands of Americans each year, according to the paper.
The Motrosskaya Tishina jail, in use since 1775 and (erroneously) considered to be impossible to escape-from, came under fire after an exposé, published in mid-December by the tabloid Moskovsky Komsomolets. The report alleged that, while some of the detainees were kept in abysmal conditions, others were offered a life in what would be considered a 'luxury apartment' behind bars. The report was based on accounts by employees of a state-mandated body called the Public Supervisory Commission, a watchdog for the Russian penitentiary system.
The report prompted three different probes into the operation of the jail, which is used to detain people suspected of crimes and considered as a flight-risk. The disciplinary action, announced on Thursday by the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), was taken after one such inquiry was completed.
Kenton's company held the royal warrant for 57 years, but the 82-year old's relationship with the Queen ended shortly after her book, 'Storm in a D-Cup,' was published in March 2016.
Kenton, who transformed Rigby & Peller into a global retailer after acquiring it for £20,000 ($27,000) in 1982, also explained how Princess Diana had accepted posters of models in lingerie for her sons William and Harry for them to bring to Eton college.
Kenton, who has described herself as "the UK's leading boobologist,"said she was "shocked" by the news.
Koala Rescue Queensland (KRQ) responded to a report of one of the furry animals climbing a picnic shelter at Brooloo Park Lookout near Gympie, 175 kilometres (around 100 miles) north of Brisbane, on Wednesday.
But on closer inspection it was found to be dead and screwed in place. "This poor koala has been screwed to the pole with building screws," it said on Facebook "He is deceased, but whether or not he was when cruelly attached to the structure is unknown."
During a Wednesday press conference, North Little Rock Police Chief Mike Davis said it was necessary to release footage of the shooting in order to clear up a "great deal of misinformation" that was being spread on social media.
"I fear that misinformation gets out that says the subject wasn't armed, that the subject didn't shoot," Davis said, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. "He was armed and we, in fact, had to take action because of that. I want people to see what happened."
Head teacher Maria Bull claims her "no pay, no play" scheme at Wednesbury Oak Academy in Tipton should have worked because there are no parents who "didn't have" £6 (US$8).
The school introduced what was branded "rich and poor zones,"where only those who paid to play could use equipment at lunchtimes.
Bull also claimed those who had paid could use the skipping ropes, balls and slinky, and could essentially get a guest pass for a less well-off friend to play every few days.

Zainab Ansari went missing last week while returning from a Quranic studies class.
'We will not bury our daughter until her killers are arrested,' girl's father Ameen says, as thousands gather for her funeral
Two people died and dozens more have been injured in clashes in Pakistan after the alleged rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl.
Angered by the perceived lack of arrests over the death of Zainab Ansari, hundreds took to the streets of the city of Kasur in eastern Punjab.
Some attacked a police station and government buildings while local TV cameras captured others throwing rocks and smashing car windows with sticks.
Ansari went missing on her way to her religious studies tuition, earlier this week. Police said she was raped, and that her body was found dumped in a pile of rubbish.
Comment: There is CCTV footage and a description of the man who took away Zainab:

Comment: Don't suppose there will be any forthcoming legislation or attempts to stem the tide of government sponsored drug trafficking:
