A Muslim man in France who was indicted for manslaughter for shaking his 5-month-old daughter to death blamed fasting during Ramadan for putting him "on edge".

The 42-year-old man, who is said to have stayed at a hotel with his child while his wife went to work every day as the couple were still looking for a home, was indicted in a Versailles court this week for manslaughter after admitting to shaking the young child to death on May 28th, Le Parisien reports.

The man, who lives in the commune of Mantes-la-Jolie, is said to have reacted to the young child crying by shaking her and then throwing her on the hotel bed. The child once more began to cry and the Muslim man shook her again and threw her onto the bed but this time the child bounced off onto the floor headfirst and vomited.

Tabu Henry Taylor (C) of Washington DC, and Mike Crowe (R) of Springfield, Virginia, join a handful of protesters from anti-amnesty groups, including New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement (NY ICE) and The Tea Party Immigration Coalition, to demonstrate in front of the U.S. Capitol building April 10, 2013 in Washington, DC. The groups came out to protest the 'Rally for Citizenship,' co-sponsored by the Service Employees International Union and CASA of Maryland, an immigrant advocacy group.
The majority of likely voters in 2018 midterm swing districts across the United States say immigration to the U.S. has made American life worse, a new poll reveals.

In the latest CBS News/YouGov Poll, which surveyed likely voters in 2018 midterm battleground districts, Americans by a majority say overall immigration to the country is making their life worse off.

About 56 percent of likely voters said immigration is making their area "worse" while only 17 percent say their area has been made "better" because of immigration.

Israeli government whines about 'sarcastic' global press over 'kite terrorism"

The Israeli Government Press Office released the statement below yesterday, with the photos attached, and the headline: "Kite Terrorism: GPO Foreign Press Tour of the Area Adjacent to the Gaza Strip Raises Global Awareness of New Threat." We promise, this isn't the Onion.

Israeli officials demonstrate "kite terrorism" during tour of Israeli areas bordering Gaza, photo by Maria Elkin, Israeli Government Press Office.

Very little has been written in the foreign press about the kite terrorism from Gaza which began two months ago and has burned almost 2,500 acres of agricultural lands and caused tens of millions of shekels in damage. When it has been written about, there have been sarcastic comparisons between "Palestinian kites" and "Israeli F-35s" in order to underscore the seeming lack of symmetry between the two sides and lessen the importance of the new wave of terrorism affecting the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip - that of kite-borne firebombs.

Comment: Palestinians are using kites to foil IDF tear gas attacks.

Get your tickets now! Parkland activists will be launching a 75-stop gun control tour

On Monday, students from the pro-gun control March for Our Lives protest are expected to announce plans to go on a 20-state summer bus tour. Vocal Parkland High School survivors and anti-gun activists, such as group leaders David Hogg and Emma González, will be headlining the 75-stop tour.

The bus tour, called "March for Our Lives: Road to Change," will include meetings with victims and survivors of shootings and focus on the promotion of more gun control legislation and registering fellow youths to vote, reports Axios.

Hogg, 18, promoted the bus tour during an interview with the outlet on Saturday. "I'm glad I'm getting my diploma and not my death certificate," he said. The recent Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School grad will take a year off before entering college.

Fellow prominent Parkland anti-gun activist Emma González will also be a key bus tour leader. "If you don't support this ... it'll look like you're going against kids," said González, unintentionally giving away the Left's motive for their shameless exploitation of the teens. The 18-year-old is off to New College of Florida in Sarasota next semester

NATO puppet Facebook looking to hire "news credibility specialists" that will pass judgment on which sites are "credible" - and which sites are not

icons facebook
The war on "fake news" is about to go to an entirely new level. According to media reports, Facebook has been seeking to hire "news credibility specialists" that will be tasked with "evaluating" which news publishers are "credible" and which are not. If the goal was just to simply filter out the handful of websites that purposely publish fake news stories, that would be fine. But as we have seen so many times in recent years, these types of programs inevitably discriminate against conservative viewpoints. Facebook is highly liberal, and they will be hiring from a California talent pool that is also highly liberal. And liberals invariably consider liberal viewpoints to be more "credible" than conservative viewpoints. Facebook built an empire by giving everyone a voice, and it is simply not fair for them to try to exclude conservative viewpoints now just because they do not like them.

Hopefully we can get some answers from Facebook about this. On their official job site, the advertisement for these positions indicated that these "news credibility specialists" would be involved in the creation of "a list of credible news organizations"...

Comment: It's no doubt that Facebook's recently getting their marching orders from NATO's propaganda wing - the Atlantic Council - is part of the reason the social media company is now going full Orwell. Yes, it's that bad.

Poll shows that Sweden's left wing is collapsing: Anti-migration party now largest in the country

Sweden Democrats leader Jimmie Åkesson
The leftist Social Democrats, of Sweden's Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, collapses, a Sentio survey shows. In the meantime the right-wing Sweden Democrats surge and become the biggest party of the country.

Jimmie Åkesson and his Sweden Democrats (SD) are on their way to become Sweden's biggest party during the next election on 9 September this year.

The SD gained 3% of support since the latest poll and is now at 26.1%. At the same time the Prime Minister's Social Democrats lost 3.6% of support and are at 21.7%, which is near their all-time low of 20.6%.

Comment: Sweden's "liberal," neoliberal, and left-leaning domestic and foreign policies have left it a hot mess that its citizens now seem to be aware of. Good on them for trying to correct the ship!

It's past time to get out of the mainstream media bubble

It's only getting worse amidst continuing Russiagate hysteria and has already begun to pop

Whoever controls the media controls the narrative. Whoever controls the narrative controls the world. Media propaganda has reached a level we have not seen in our nation's history as wars are ignored, politicians destroyed, and truths distorted. But the American people want change and they got that in Donald Trump. Despite that, the media is still the same and is now as atrocious as ever.

"Those who report the news and shape public narratives are of particular interest to US oligarchs, who bought up the old media long ago and are doing everything in their power to secure influence over the new media as well," caitlinjohnstone recently wrote on Steemit. "Pundits like Joy Reid are some of their most valuable assets, and they protect those assets accordingly. Because whoever controls the narrative controls the world."

Predators among us: Sex offenders groom in churches too

Pedophiles in churches

How predatory behavior goes undetected in congregations

A man who had long sexually abused children sat in front of his pastor, wanting to confess his crimes. He began cautiously, mentioning that there had been accusations against him. He got no further, as his minister broke in, "Well, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of," the minister said quickly. "You're the last person I'd believe that of. End of conversation."

This true account was shared in Anna C. Salter's 1991 book, Predators, Pedophiles, Rapists, And Other Sex Offenders. As a psychologist who has spent over 20 years working with and studying victims and sexual offenders, Salter says that "many offenders report that religious people are even easier to fool than most people."

Rachael Denhollander, the courageous attorney who invoked her faith in her statement during the trial of her abuser Larry Nassar, warns, "It defies the gospel of Christ when we do not call out abuse and enable abuse in our own church." Shortly before Nassar's trial, she lost her church because of her advocacy for other victims within evangelical churches. Her story is an example of a culture found in some churches that disregards victims.

Comment: In 2013, editors at SOTT interviewed Dr. Anna Salter about her book. You can listen to our interview or read the transcript below. 10 weeks incommunicado: Conspiracy building to force Assange out of Ecuadorian embassy

A supporter holds up a poster of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange outside the Ecuadorian embassy, London, February 5, 2016.
One day after Ecuadorian Foreign Minister María Fernanda Espinosa declared that her government would continue blocking WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange from all communications and deny him any personal visitors, she was elected president of the United Nations General Assembly. Today marks 10 weeks since Ecuador's government deprived Assange of his rights, which it is obliged to honour after granting him political asylum in its London embassy in 2012.

The UN vote in support of Espinosa was a substantial 128, versus 62 for the only other nominee, Honduras's UN ambassador Mary Elizabeth Flores Flake, and two abstentions. The vote suggests that the United States did not energetically intrigue on behalf of Honduras. Washington was believed to favour Honduras because its right-wing government supported the provocative relocation of the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

There is little doubt that the treatment of Assange by Ecuador's government - and behind it, the small country's corporate elite - is the outcome of pressure and threats by the US and other powers. Washington is demanding Assange's head as the price of restoring relations. CIA director Mike Pompeo, now US secretary of state, asserted last year that WikiLeaks was a "non-state hostile intelligence agency," due to its publication of documents exposing the operations of US intelligence.

Comment: Those countries participating in the persecution of Assange are showing their true colours; they are lackey's to the US and the Western ruling elites:
