This week, Pennsylvania state Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced that no charges will be filed against Officer Richard Nicoletti, who was seen on video executing an unarmed father of three by shooting him in the head at point blank range as he was surrounded by police.

Jeffrey Dennis, 36, was gunned down in broad daylight by Nicoletti, a 29-year-veteran assigned to the Narcotics Field Unit of the Philadelphia police department. Police were preparing to serve a search warrant on Dennis' home over alleged drug dealing when they found him on the road and murdered him.

Shapiro launched an investigation into Dennis' killing in August just after it took place.

"My office conducted a thorough four-month review of this case, interviewing witnesses, examining video footage, and analyzing all available evidence," Shapiro said in a statement. "We applied the facts to Pennsylvania law, and accordingly, no criminal charges against Richard Nicoletti will be filed by my office."

Illegal immigration ticked up in November, but the number of those people traveling as families shattered records, Homeland Security reported Thursday, saying it's proof that migrants have figured out how to game the flawed U.S. immigration system.

More than 25,000 people who came as part of families were snared by Border Patrol agents sneaking across the U.S.-Mexico line, and nearly 5,000 more were encountered at official border crossings where they demanded entry.

Nearly 5,300 more children traveling without parents were also caught jumping the border, the government said.

The 25,000 family "units," as they're called, are by far a record, far surpassing the heights of the Obama years.

"The November 2018 border numbers are the predictable result of a broken immigration system - including flawed judicial rulings - that usurps the will of the American people who have repeatedly demanded secure borders," said Katie Waldman a spokeswoman for Homeland Security.

Research conducted by PriceWaterhouse Coopers, in association with the thinktank, Demos, has named Preston - the UK City whose Labour-run Council's socialist policies saw it labelled the "poster child of Corbynomics" - as the most improved urban area in the UK to live and work.

The annual research, called the Good Growth for Cities 2018 index, measures the UK's biggest 42 cities and uses indicators including health, income, skills, housing affordability, commuting times, environmental factors, income inequality and new business starts.

Unemployment in the winning City fell to 3.1% last year, compared to 6.5% in 2014. In addition, Preston has seen improvements above the national average in health, transport, residents' work-life balance and skills across the entire population, from young to old.

95 per cent of speed cameras in one area of France have been completely destroyed as part of the 'yellow vest' anti-government protest movement.

According to Le Point, almost all speed cameras in Puy-de-Dôme, a region in central France, have been taped over, broken or burned.

Comment: The French spirit of rebellion has been awakened. Macron and his ilk had better tread carefully. The populace has been here before.

The practice of witchcraft in the U.S. has risen dramatically over the past few decades.

According to statistics, the number of registered Witches and Pagans currently outnumber Christian Presbyterians in the US.

Witchcraft and other pagan religious practices increased in the U.S. over the past few decades, with millennials turning to astrology and tarot cards as they turn away from Christianity and other traditionally dominant Abrahamic religions.

The number of witches and Americans practicing Wicca religious rituals increased dramatically since the 1990s, with several recent studies indicating there may be at least 1.5 million witches across the country. A Trinity College study conducted in 1990 estimated only about 8,000 Wiccans in the U.S., but the increase has been led by a rejection of mainstream Christianity among young Americans as well as a rise in occultism.

With 1.5 million potential practicing witches across the U.S., witchcraft has more followers than the 1.4 million mainline members of the Presbyterian church.

In December 2011, St. Louis Police Officer Jason Stockley violated department policy when he grabbed his personal AK-47, premeditated, and then murdered Anthony Lamar Smith. The planning of the murder and the actual murder were captured on the officer's dashcam. In spite of the overwhelming amount of evidence against him, a St. Louis judge last year found Stockley not guilty of first-degree murder in the 2011 shooting death of Smith. Months of protests ensued immediately.

"Once they put those barricades up, I knew what was up," activist Jae Shepherd recalled to Rolling Stone. "They put those up when we were waiting for the indictment or non-indictment of Darren Wilson when Mike [Brown] was killed. It was just like this building up of anticipation and anxiety."

During the protests, angry citizens took to the streets en masse. They were met by hundreds of police officers in riot gear, who were armed with military grade weaponry and technology.

"Yellow Vests" have planned action across The Netherlands to protest against "political correctness" and immigration policies, and to call for the resignation of left-liberal Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Inspired by the French Gilets Jaunes, the Dutch Gele Hesjes (Yellow Vests) will be protesting Saturday morning in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Maastricht, Groningen, and The Hague following similar action last weekend, reports Dutch online newspaper nu.nl.

Unlike the French Yellow Vests, or Yellow Jackets, whose protest originated in reaction to Paris Climate Accord-inspired green tax hikes on fuel, their Dutch counterparts began their movement over government policies including immigration and healthcare.

They are also calling for a reduction in excise duties, the lowering of the age at which pensions can be received, and for the Dutch prime minister to step down, Algemeen Dagblad reports.

A Minnesota professor suggested in a series of tweets that the Virgin Mary did not consent to the conception of Jesus Christ and suggested that God may have acted in a "predatory" manner.

Minnesota State University, Mankato psychology professor and sex therapist Dr. Eric Sprankle critiqued the story of the Virgin Mary in a tweet Monday, suggesting that the Virgin Mary did not consent to being impregnated by God.

"The virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen. There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays," Sprankle said.

Another Twitter user called the professor's claim into question, noting that the Bible states that the Virgin Mary did, indeed, agree to God's plan for her.

"The biblical god regularly punished disobedience," Sprankle rebutted. "The power difference (deity vs mortal) and the potential for violence for saying 'no' negates her 'yes.' To put someone in this position is an unethical abuse of power at best and grossly predatory at worst."

Michael Avenatti will have to fly commercial for the foreseeable future.

The celebrity lawyer and his estranged wife, Lisa Storie-Avenatti, have settled their messy child and spousal support battle, TMZ reported Wednesday, and the agreement includes forking over the company plane.

Avenatti reportedly agreed to cut a $40,000 check to his ex for child support and another in January, a stark departure from previous figures that added up to almost $2 million.

The difference will come in the form of assets, according to TMZ, including five luxury wristwatches, his 2017 Ferrari 488 GT Spider lease and his law firm's share of a 2016 Honda private jet.

CNN issues all-clear after NY offices evacuated due to phoned-in bomb threat

Police and firefighters arrived around 10:30 p.m. to the Time Warner Center in New York.

Police and CNN have issued an all-clear message after the network's New York offices and studios were evacuated Thursday night because of a phoned-in bomb threat.

"The NYPD has now given us the all clear, and employees have been permitted to return to the building,"CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker said in an internal memo to staff. "The building is secure and safe for everyone to return in the morning."

"We appreciate the swift action by the local authorities, and the patience and professionalism of all the employees who were impacted.

"The threat was not substantiated, the New York Police Department tweeted.

The threat came Thursday night when a caller indicated there were five devices in the building, according to a law enforcement source. Several fire alarm bells rang inside CNN's New York newsroom, signaling an evacuation after the call was received shortly before 10 p.m., the company's security said.
