College men are attempting to ban pornography on campuses across the country, The Daily Beast reported.

Eighty male students at Notre Dame University wrote an open letter in the school newspaper asking for a porn filter on the school's Wi-Fi.

"This filter would send the unequivocal message that pornography is an affront to human rights and catastrophic to individuals and relationships. We are calling for this action in order to stand up for the dignity of all people, especially women," the letter read. "The overwhelming majority of contemporary pornography is literally filmed violence against women - violence somehow rendered invisible by the context."

"Pornography is prostitution through the lens of a camera, but more abusive. It exploits the men and women involved, advances a twisted narrative about human sexuality and harms those who consume it."

Airlines in India are beginning to offer gender-segregated seating - and some say the practice should be more common
Airlines are under pressure to provide separate women's seating to combat the lecherous spread of male passengers over the dividing armrests, amid a surge in midair sexual assaults.

Writing for the South China Morning Post, columnist Kate Whitehead described her experiences with "manspreading" and urged airlines to introduce women-only rows.

"Nine times out of 10 - based on my extensive experience flying 'cattle class' - if a man is seated beside a woman he will claim the armrest. Not only that, but his elbow will protrude slightly into the woman's seat space.

"Unless you are prepared to press your arm against the man's - which will allow you to feel the rise and fall of his breath and is, I feel, too intimate a connection with a stranger - then you have lost two inches of your seat."

"I hope that in the wake of the #MeToo movement, people will come to realise that the airline armrest is a gender political issue. The first airline to establish "pink rows" will have my custom."

Writing helps develop fine motor skills: Ohio lawmakers approve new lessons to encourage penmanship

Cursive
Cursive is making a comeback in Ohio if state lawmakers have anything to say about it.

House Bill 58, which passed the Ohio Senate 27-2 on Thursday, would require the Ohio Department of Education to create instructional materials on handwriting through the fifth grade. The goal of the materials: students should be able to print letters legibly by the end of third grade and write in cursive by the end of fifth grade.

The proposal initially required cursive be taught in schools. Now, it would be an option as soon as the 2019-2020 school year.

Paul Nuttall quits UKIP over Tommy Robinson's role as adviser

Paul Nuttall, former UKIP party leader and member
Former UKIP leader Paul Nuttall has quit the party in protest at the decision to appoint Tommy Robinson as an adviser. Mr Nuttall said he was leaving because the party was being taken in a direction "harmful to Brexit".

The association with the former English Defence League leader would "appall many moderate Brexit voters," he said.

Mr Nuttall's resignation follows that of fellow former leader Nigel Farage, who expressed similar sentiments.

UKIP's leader in Scotland has also quit the party, accusing it of being "infiltrated by people with an alternative agenda".

Comment: Several other figures in UKIP have recently resigned including David Coburn, Nathan Gill and Suzanne Evans, see below for her full statement.

Reportedly, Tommy Robinson will be backing a "Brexit Betrayal" rally with the UKIP leader Sunday 9th December in London. Despite organisers stating it will be a "democratic and peaceful demonstration expressing the strength of feeling amongst Leavers", police are preparing for violence amid reports of a counter-protest being staged. Is the 'yellow vest' movement about to come to the UK?

High ranking colonel arrested in child sex sting

Lt. Col. Willie Newson
Earlier this week, the FBI Metro Atlanta Child Exploitation Task Force held a sting to catch alleged sex traffickers and made multiple arrests in the process. During the sting, a high-ranking Air Force Colonel was ensnared by federal agents.

The undercover sex bust unfolded Tuesday night at a Cobb County hotel at which Lt. Col. Willie Newson, 47, was arrested. According to authorities, Newson thought he was meeting a 14-year-old girl at the hotel. He was actually meeting undercover agents pretending to be a child.

Georgia Department of Defense spokeswoman Desiree Bamba told AJC.com that Newson is on the command staff of Maj. Gen. Jesse T. Simmons Jr., who is the commander of the Georgia Air National Guard. Newson also was formerly the commander of the 165th Communication Flight of the 165th Airlift Wing, according to the official.

"Lt. Col. Newson's alleged actions do not reflect the values we uphold in the Georgia National Guard," she said.

As WSB-TV reports, the "undercover officer that Newson spoke with gave him the opportunity to stop communicating several times." However, Newson continued to pursue who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Facebook's new sexual solicitation policy will ban 'dirty talk' on the site

Looking for a good time? Well, don't post about it on Facebook.

The company has quietly updated its content-moderation policies to crack down on implicit requests for sex.

The expanded policy specifically bans "sexual slang," hints of "sexual roles, positions or fetish scenarios," and erotic art when mentioned with a sex act. Vague, but suggestive statements such as "looking for a good time tonight" when soliciting sex are also no longer allowed.

Facebook added the new "sexual solicitation" policy on Oct. 15. But it was only on Wednesday when internet users began to take notice. And many are not happy, fearing that the mere mention of sex will get their content taken down.

Families may have to rely on food banks to survive.
Ten thousand Scots will be left penniless at Christmas after being transferred to Universal Credit.

The new benefit has a five-week waiting time built into the system which means anyone claiming today will not get support until the New Year.

Universal Credit, which bundles six old benefits together, is being rolled out across Scotland.

The UK Government claimed it would "simplify" payments and guide people into work.

But Scottish Government Social Security Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville said the switch-over will leave thousands of new claimants with no income over the festive period.

Comment: Universal Credit's rollout has been fraught with misery and incompetent, callous responses from authorities since inception:
