Hayward: Leftists Embrace the 'Four Stages of Ideological Subversion'

riots
"Progressive" ideology always rests on a conviction that the current "regressive" system is comprehensively unjust and must be destroyed by exploiting its weaknesses.

The most famous proponent of such tactics in recent years has been the late Saul Alinksy, the intellectual godfather of the modern Democrat Party, but former Soviet journalist and KGB informant Yuri Bezmenov laid out an even more concise strategy for subversion in a 1984 interview.

Alinksy's seminal book specified 13 Rules for Radicals, but Bezmenov had only four "stages of ideological subversion," and they will sound very familiar to anyone following the current wave of left-wing riots, or the politicized final stages of the coronavirus panic before it: Demoralization, Destabilization, Crisis, and Normalization.

Bezmenov defined ideological subversion, or "active measures" as the KGB preferred to call it, as a "slow brainwashing process" to "change the perception of reality of every American to such an extent that despite their abundance of information, no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interests of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country."

Ivanka Trump slams 'cancel culture' after being no-platformed at Kansas University

The US president's daughter will now join a growing list of conservatives, including world-renowned figures such as Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson, who have been prevented from talking at universities due to holding views that largely liberal university campuses deem politically incorrect.

Ivanka Trump has condemned "cancel culture and viewpoint discrimination" after a graduation speech she was slated to give to students at a university in Kansas was canceled amid ongoing criticism of Donald Trump's response to the killing of George Floyd.

Just a few hours after Wichita University and WSU Tech announced that the 38-year-old daughter of the US president would be addressing graduates, they suddenly reversed course and said that the graduation event would instead be "refocused" on the students.

As US cities tiptoe toward martial law, the National Guard has tried to sweeten the deal by couching curfew enforcement in a synchronized dance routine - putting the pandemic's dancing nurses into perspective.

The country has slipped with surprisingly little fanfare from the de facto medical martial law imposed in the name of the coronavirus pandemic into the real thing, deploying actual soldiers onto the streets of American cities to rein in unruly protesters, rioters, and looters with nary a peep from the heavily armed political factions that promised to fight for their rights if any of President Donald Trump's predecessors had tried such a thing.

Power seized isn't necessarily power kept, however, and Americans aren't used to seeing military uniforms on the streets of their cities. In a climate where the police are so unpopular even the ruling class who gives them their marching orders wants to defund them, the National Guard are, for all intents and purposes, cops on steroids. On top of that, they're weighed down by the guilt built up over two decades of War on Terror atrocities committed by their brethren fighting in the Middle East.

'Madness of Crowds' author Douglas Murray slams authorities as hypocrites for allowing mass protests while still urging social distancing rules

Thousands of people blocked the road as they gathered outside the US Embassy in London last Sunday
The author of best-selling political book 'The Madness of Crowds' has slammed authorities as hypocrites for allowing mass anti-racism protests while still urging Britons to stick to social distancing rules.

Controversial author Douglas Murray said that while 'everybody in the UK has to lock down', thousands are permitted to gather for protests across the UK sparked by the death of unarmed black man George Floyd in the US.

Floyd was killed when a white police officer pressed his knee into his neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds despite Floyd's desperate pleas that he 'can't breathe'.

He passed out and later died in Minneapolis on May 25.

At least 11 killed during US protests seeking justice for George Floyd, many of them African Americans

James Scurlock, a 22-year-old Black man, was shot and killed by a white bar owner
One man was the beloved owner of a Louisville barbecue restaurant who provided free meals to officers. Another was a man known as "Mr. Indianapolis," a former star football player. Yet another was a federal officer working security during a protest.

They are among those killed as protests have roiled American cities in the week since the death of George Floyd, a black man who pleaded for air as a white Minneapolis officer jammed a knee into his neck.

The deaths have at times been overshadowed by the shocking images of unrest, from heavy-handed police tactics to violence, vandalism and arson. Tens of thousands have marched peacefully in demonstrations against police brutality and racism.

Many of the people killed were African Americans, compounding the tragedy for black communities.

Hundreds of others have been injured in the chaos, with police officers getting shot and protesters struck with rubber bullets.

The death toll and circumstances of the killings are still being sorted out in many cities, but here is what we know so far:

Comment: These are just a small sampling of the deaths and injuries that came as a result of the mass chaos witnessed in the last two weeks.

'Where does this end?' NYT oped suggests cutting off family & friends unless they protest or give money to anti-racism orgs

A New York Times opinion piece suggests the only true way to alleviate white guilt is to cut off family and friends unless they support anti-racism causes, either through protest or financial contributions.

Author Chris Sanders is not happy about white people he knows texting him about the current unrest in the nation amidst the ongoing protests over the death of George Floyd.

After ranting about his agent and publishing company pushing off a scheduled meeting for a "blackout" day in support of the demonstrations around the country and people suddenly caring about the Black Lives Matter movement in light of protests, Sanders argues white people texting him about these issues "drain my time and energy."

Being guilty is not enough, Sanders suggests. He offers only three ways white people can be allies to black people today.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer marches with George Floyd protesters despite pandemic: 'Elections matter'

Gretchen Whitmer

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, center, marches with others, on Woodward during a rally in Highland Park, Thursday, June 4, 2020, in honor of George Floyd, a man who died last week while being arrested by Minneapolis police.
Three days after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer urged Michiganders to "Google" how to cut their own hair during the ongoing coronavirus-related restrictions, the Democratic governor was spotted marching with her hands raised among throngs of George Floyd protesters in Detroit Thursday.

A video tweeted by WXYZ Detroit showed Ms. Whitmer purportedly violating her own social distancing orders by marching shoulder-to-shoulder with protesters. In the video, the governor wore a face mask with her arms raised as protesters chanted, "Hands up, don't shoot."

"Elections matter," Ms. Whitmer said during the march, The Detroit News reported. "We cannot be defeated. We must move forward together. When we do that, we cannot be defeated."

According to the state administration's website, "Persons may engage in expressive activities protected by the First Amendment within the State of Michigan, but must adhere to social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including remaining at least six feet from people from outside the person's household."

Comment: And the double standards abound. A real piece of work that one. See also:

The vandalised Abraham Lincoln statue in London's Parliament Square
Activists defaced and scaled Abraham Lincoln's statue in Parliament Square, London, at a Black Lives Matter rally held in defiance of Britain's anti-coronavirus regulations.

Video from protest, estimated to be 15,000-strong at the time of publication, shows the Lincoln statue defaced with the graffiti reading "BLM" and naming George Floyd, Mike Brown, and other individuals said to have been killed wrongfully by the police.

One side of Lincoln's pedestal has also had a banner and several placards duct-taped to it, reading "RACISM IS A PANDEMIC TOO", "SILENCE IS VIOLENCE", "BLM", and "ABOLISH THE POLICE".

Comment: It was known that a reaction by the imprisoned public would follow the lockdown, and so one wonders whether these protests and riots, that aren't being prevented from happening, nor are they being denounced by the mainstream media, and this despite emergency laws rushed through parliament to stop mass gatherings, are instead being hijacked and hyped to the establishments advantage?

New Marxist frontiers: The riots cured the incurable virus

It was the biggest news story and most consequential policy decision of our lifetime. The lockdowns destroyed potentially 53% of our GDP, paralyzed our health care system, shut down our education system, and induced a physical and mental health crisis along with a social, economic, and labor catastrophe that we still can't begin to conceptualize. Yet we were told it was absolutely necessary for our survival because of the most dangerous virus ever that required these actions to some degree until there is a vaccine or a cure. Well, it appears that we found a cure, though not a medical one.

From day one, the coronavirus response was a display of the tail wagging the dog - the media driving the scientific and medical community, not the other way around. This is why the minute the media found a more exciting narrative to advance their agenda, namely racial strife, not only is the virus is out of the news entirely, but the cult-like devotion to quarantine, wearing masks, and the mind-numbing trope of "social distancing" has been repudiated within hours of the first sacred "protesters" smashing and burning storefronts in Minneapolis last week.

Even the media figures who tacitly condemn the violence and the local officials who take some action against the most violent rioters have all elevated the "protesters" to sainthood status. They have allowed them to break curfews and gather in the thousands on top of each other. Politicians have even joined in with them, and there have been group hugging and kneeling sessions with the police.

Reddit founder steps down from company board, requests seat 'go to black board member'

Reddit Alexis Ohanian

Founder and former CEO of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian
Alexis Ohanian, the founder and former CEO of Reddit, stepped down from his position on the company's board Friday as the U.S. roils with nationwide protests against police brutality after Minneapolis police killed George Floyd, an unarmed black man.

Ohanian is calling on the company he founded to fill his position with a black board member, a high-profile step for a company with its own rocky track record around issues of race.

"I believe resignation can actually be an act of leadership from people in power right now," Ohanian said in his announcement. "To everyone fighting to fix our broken nation: do not stop."
