Society's Child
The video was shared 1,500 times and gained 84,000 views before it was removed, reports the New York Post.
Officers were called to a house in Gulfport Tuesday morning where police discovered a recording of the assault at the scene and interviewed several suspects who were reportedly intoxicated.
"I wish people would look at just how warped our society has become," Chief Leonard Papania told reporters at a news conference Wednesday.
"We videotape pain and suffering, then we share it and we view it over and over. And I don't doubt this story will be dead in two days and everybody [will] move on to something else and you still have a victim of a crime."
On Wednesday, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals ruled in favor of a girl seeking a waiver from a state law that requires minors to obtain "the written consent of either parent or the legal guardian" before receiving an abortion.
The 12-year-old girl, only referred to as "anonymous" or "minor" in the opinion, was impregnated by an adult relative while she was living with her mother, stepfather, four siblings, and an uncle.
The relative who raped her was charged with statutory rape and the girl was removed from her home for the fifth time. She was placed in the custody of the Department of Human Resources (DHR) after the police were notified that her mother reportedly became physically abusive toward her upon learning of her daughter's pregnancy.

Vigil attendees gather outside the DNC headquarters in Washington, D.C., to honor murdered staffer Seth Rich on the anniversary of his death.
But Democrats laughed Monday as they passed the crowd of at least 30 people who held a silent vigil and later chanted, "Justice for Seth Rich!"
Ralliers held up stuffed panda bears in memory of Rich, who reportedly used the pseudonym "Panda" online. They also held signs demanding to see Rich's death certificate and unreleased body-camera footage obtained by Metropolitan Police Department officers at the scene of the murder.
The Metropolitan Police say two teenagers have been arrested as a major investigation into the series of attacks that took place in less than 90 minutes is launched. The assaults appear to be linked, and two of the victims had their mopeds stolen, police added.
A 32-year-old man on a moped was left with facial injuries in Hackney after another moped with two male riders pulled up alongside him and threw a corrosive substance in his face.
One of the men stole his moped and the other drove away on the vehicle they arrived on. Police said the victim had gone to an east London hospital and they are awaiting an update on his injuries.
Little more than 20 minutes later, another victim was sprayed with the liquid in Islington. He was taken to a hospital in north London.
About 15 minutes after that, an attacker targeted another man in Shoreditch High Street. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
The study's findings, published Thursday, came after Penn State's Bill Burgos and his fellow scientists sought to discover what had been the effect of the strategy of treating and releasing fracking wastewater, according to the Independent.
They sampled sediments and groundwater from the Conemaugh River water, downstream from two facilities that were created to make the water used in the fracking process fit for release into the environment.
"Isotopic ratios of 226Ra/228Ra and 87Sr/86Sr identified that peak concentrations of Ra and Sr were likely sourced from wastewaters that originated from the Marcellus Shale formation," according to the study Watershed-Scale Impacts for Surface Water Disposal of Oil and Gas Wastewater in Western Pennsylvania.

The attack occurred in the al-Badrasheen area of Giza province, 30km (20 miles) south of Cairo, according to the Interior Ministry.
Two officers and three conscripts were killed in the attack.
No group has yet claimed responsibility but Egyptian forces have been battling Islamic State insurgents in the northern Sinai region. Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) claimed responsibility for multiple attacks against Coptic Christians in Egypt this year as part of their North Sinai offensive.
According to the agency, the number of absolute poor in Italy rose to 4.7 million last year against almost 1.7 million in 2006. The figure represents 7.9 percent of the country's population with most of them living in southern regions.
In the south of the country, 9.8 percent of people were living in absolute poverty, compared to 7.3 percent in central areas including the capital Rome, and 6.7 percent in the north, including the business capital Milan, the report shows.
Absolute poverty is defined as the condition preventing people from buying goods and services "essential to avoid grave forms of social exclusion," according to ISTAT.

Israeli policemen carry the body of an assailant after he was shot dead by Israeli police at the compound known to Muslims as Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as Temple Mount, in Jerusalem's Old City July 14, 2017.
The two officers were amongst three people initially injured. Three armed assailants were then pursued, shot and killed by police.
The gunmen, reported by Reuters to be Arab-Israeli, arrived at the site which is holy to both Jews and Muslims, and made their way towards the Lions Gate in the Old City. "When they saw policemen they shot towards them and then escaped towards one of the mosques in the Temple Mount compound," police spokeswoman Luba Simri.
According to Simri three firearms were found on the bodies of the attackers.
The officers were named by authorities as Hail Stawi, 30, and Kaamil Snaan, 22.

Comment: Warning! The following is written by an apparent crazy, narcissistic, and paranoid person who needs immediate help before she damages her sons any further! A good parent would be more concerned with creating a safe environment for her sons rather than painting them (and all men) as dangerous in the national media. It is this type of fanatical proselytizing that divides people and perpetuates a hostile social climate. The article is provided here as an insight into the current regressive liberal delusion spreading across the West.
If the feminist men—the men who proudly declare their progressive politics and their fight for quality—aren't safe, then what man is? No man, I fear.
I have two sons. They are strong and compassionate—the kind of boys other parents are glad to meet when their daughters bring them home for dinner. They are good boys, in the ways good boys are, but they are not safe boys. I'm starting to believe there's no such thing.
I wrote an essay in The Washington Post last year, during the height of the Brock Turner case, about my sons and rape culture. I didn't think it would be controversial when I wrote it; I was sure most parents grappled with raising sons in the midst of rape culture. The struggle I wrote about was universal, I thought, but I was wrong. My essay went semi-viral, and for the first time my sons encountered my words about them on their friends' phones, their teachers' computers, and even overheard them discussed by strangers on a crowded metro bus. It was one thing to agree to be written about in relative obscurity, and quite another thing to have my words intrude on their daily lives.
One of my sons was hurt by my words, although he's never told me so. He doesn't understand why I lumped him and his brother together in my essay. He sees himself as the "good" one, the one who is sensitive and thoughtful, and who listens instead of reacts. He doesn't understand that even quiet misogyny is misogyny, and that not all sexists sound like Twitter trolls. He is angry at me now, although he won't admit that either, and his anger led him to conservative websites and YouTube channels; places where he can surround himself with righteous indignation against feminists, and tell himself it's ungrateful women like me who are the problem.
Comment: This is reminiscent of the story of Julie Burchill, a feminist who wrote an article for the Guardian in 1999, mocking male suicide. Here's what she wrote:
That young men succeed in suicide more often than girls isn't really the point. Indeed, the more callous among us would say that it was quite nice for young men finally to find something that they're better at than girls...In 2015, her son Jack, committed suicide. She was out in force gathering sympathy in a Daily Mail article.
To ask me to feel sympathy with suicides after witnessing this (the death of her father from asbestos-induced cancer) is, I suggest, just as unfeeling and ignorant as my callousness must appear to you - like asking a starving African to sympathise with an anorexic. In a society still beset with the most vicious social deprivation and rampant cruelty to the very young, the very old and the very weak, the voluntary exits of a few hundred able-bodied young men each year are best dealt with as private tragedies rather than a public concern. Let them go.
'After a lifetime of acting as my boy's life coach, ATM and personal maid, I had had enough,' Burchill said.'Finally I peeled his drowning fingers off of me and saved myself, and so when he died I hadn't seen him for a year, having become so despairing over his self-destructiveness.'Considering she admits to having lost custody of Jack due to her flousy lifestyle and various infidelities, and only having lived with him off and on for a year at a time later in his life in most cases, it's hard to imagine she spent 'a lifetime of acting as my boy's life coach, ATM and personal maid...'
