Far-right rally after the killing of a German man in Chemnitz
Prosecutors have confirmed that an Iraqi national, detained for three weeks after a stabbing incident in Chemnitz, Germany, which left one local man dead, has been released. Another suspect, a Syrian national, remains in custody.

The 22-year-old, identified only as Yousif A., was one of two men detained after a 35-year-old German man was fatally stabbed in a brawl with migrants late in August. Another suspect, a Syrian national, remains in custody. A third migrant, sought after the incident, has not been located.

While Yousif A. admitted he was at the scene of the deadly incident, he claimed he only observed the brawl. His account was supported by the testimonies of eyewitnesses, German broadcaster NDR reported last week.

The stabbing in Chemnitz triggered a wave of far-right and right-wing rallies, some of which escalated into skirmishes between riot police and protesters, resulting in multiple arrests and injuries. The right-wing rallies were also met with counter protests from the left, who opposed the "hatred" against the migrants. The rival protesters clashed with each other on several occasions.

Border Patrol agents in the Tucson Sector are witnessing significant increases in the number of migrants crossing illegally from Mexico. In roughly two weeks, four groups were apprehended-each consisting of more than 100 adults and children.

Ajo Station agents encountered a group of 121 migrants who crossed the border near the Senita Basin, north of the Lukeville port of entry. The group quickly turned themselves over to the custody of the agents, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. Agents said the group was composed of 111 adults and children from Guatemala and another 10 from El Salvador.

Four days earlier, agents encountered a group of 163 several miles west of the Lukeville port of entry. Another group of 103 was apprehended on August 28 and 128 more on August 20. The group of 128 was abandoned in the desert by their human smugglers, officials stated.

"This is where our law enforcement mission quickly turns from enforcing immigration laws to preserving life by ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of these migrant families," Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch said in a written statement. "Transnational criminal organizations are exploiting these immigrant families and demonstrating their blatant disregard for human life."

The CIA has tweeted a GIF marking its 71st birthday - and while some folks on Twitter took the opportunity to express their sincere thanks to the intelligence agency for the work it does, others were, let's just say, not so kind.

The simple self-congratulatory GIF showed confetti falling over the years '1947 - 2018' with the words "celebrating 71 years" written underneath and the CIA's logo in the middle. It wasn't long before the responses to the birthday tweet started rolling in.

Some Americans praised the "heroes" of the organization and the "sacrifices" made to 'keep the US safe'.

What began as a dispute over check-in times between three Chinese tourists and a Swedish hotel has somehow escalated into an international incident, with Beijing demanding an apology for what it says was a human rights violation.

China has issued a safety warning for its nationals in Sweden after the three tourists were "brutally abused" by local police on September 2. On Monday, Beijing urged Stockholm to take their concerns seriously and respond to the complaint immediately

"We again urge Sweden to take China's concerns seriously, and to take practical measures to protect the security and legitimate interests of Chinese tourists,"said China's foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang.

The Chinese family arrived to the Stockholm hotel after midnight on the day in question - several hours before their scheduled arrival. After being told they could not check in yet, they asked if they could wait in the lobby. The hotel staff ordered them to leave when they allegedly started to make verbal threats, before calling the police to forcibly remove them.

The Saudi-led coalition has renewed a large-scale offensive on the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, ending a months-long effort led by the UN to bring hostilities to a halt.

"The Saudi-led Arab Coalition forces continue military operations in Yemen's Red Sea Coast, in cooperation with the Joint Yemeni Resistance Forces," Commander of the Arab Coalition taskforce, Brigadier Ali Al Tunaiji, told Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The Arab Coalition and Joint Yemeni Resistance Forces managed to capture a stretch of road between Kilo 6 and Kilo 10 near Hodeidah, cutting off a major Houthi supply route that runs from the port city to other rebel-controlled areas. Saudi-loyal troops were also able to reinforce Kilo 16, Al Tunaiji noted, pointing out that "dozens" of Houthis have either been killed or captured in the renewed offensive.

Alibaba Group co-founder and executive chairman Jack Ma
Chinese billionaire and Alibaba founder Jack Ma said on Tuesday that trade frictions between Washington and Beijing could last for two decades and would be "a mess" for all parties involved.

"It's going to last long; it's going to be a mess," Ma said at an annual conference for Alibaba investors. His remarks came just hours after US President Trump's administration slapped a new round of tariffs on Chinese goods worth $200 billion, with Beijing promising to retaliate.

He added that the trade war will last not for 20 months or 20 days, but "maybe 20 years."

According to Ma, trade tensions between the world's two largest economies would likely impact Chinese and foreign companies immediately and negatively.

An Air India plane with some 370 passengers on board escaped disaster by just a whisker as it managed to land safely despite a concurrence of adverse conditions.

According to NDTV, the plane from New Delhi to New York was supposed to land at JFK airport on September 11, but landed in Newark instead because of a series of technical failures, bad weather and low fuel.

The commander in charge of the 15-hour flight could be heard fretting approximately 38 minutes prior to landing, as he called Air Traffic Control in New York to say: "We're really, you know, stuck, and there's no fuel."

Flight AI-101 Captain Rustom Palia went on to described how there was only one radioaltimeter functioning and the Traffic Collision and Avoidance System had failed.
