New York City medical examiner personnel walking on Saturday to the Manhattan Correctional Center where financier Jeffrey Epstein died.

Correctional officers who worked in a special unit inside the New York City jail that housed Jeffrey Epstein -- before his apparent suicide -- had worked extreme overtime shifts to compensate for staffing shortages, according to reports Sunday.

The Associated Press cited an unnamed source in a Sunday report that said the Metropolitan Correctional Center's Special Housing Unit was staffed with a single guard working a fifth straight day of overtime and another who was working mandatory overtime.

Epstein, 66, was found unconscious in his cell Saturday. He later was pronounced dead from an apparent suicide, raising questions as to how the wealthy financier might have been able to kill himself under the nose of staff in the high-security facility.

The correctional center did not immediately return Fox News' requests for comment.

A bombshell new Opinium poll has exposed how there is massively more public support for finally leaving the European Union on 31st October without a deal than cancelling Brexit. Remoaners once again exposed as a shrinking fringe amplified by Remainstream media.

The poll, carried out days ago, asked voters: "If Boris Johnson is unable to make changes to the Withdrawal Agreement that enables it to pass the House of Commons before October 31st, which of the following should he do?"

46% want to see a No Deal Brexit delivered at the end of October, whilst only 29% would want to see the UK's EU exit cancelled. That's a 17-point lead for a WTO Brexit compared to overturning the referendum result.

Comment: It remains to be seen whether the UK will leave the EU but the majority in the establishment have made their intent to ignore the will of the people pretty clear:

MSM ignores massive anti-sanctions protest rallies in Venezuela

Leading English-language news organizations have provided extensive and dramatic coverage of anti-government protests in Venezuela, but mostly ignored large-scale rallies against US sanctions, which took place over the weekend.

Tens of thousands of Venezuelans flooded the streets of the country's capital, Caracas, on Saturday to denounce the economic blockade and sanctions imposed by the US. Many were wrapped in national flags and sported red shirts, typically worn by the supporters of the government. The rallies were held under the slogan 'No More Trump'.

The mainstream media stayed largely silent on the massive anti-sanctions rallies. This is a striking contrast to the extensive and often dramatic coverage the leading English-language news organizations have provided during anti-government protests, led by opposition leader Juan Guaido.

The corporate media think we are stupid. All of us. They have as much respect for our intellect or ability to reason as they do for the truth. This is displayed, in size 20 font, on the front page of every newspaper every single day. They paint a picture of an absurd world, and expect us all to nod along with it, blithely accepting their stories as true, no matter what laws of reason - or even physics - they bend to suit their purpose.

The world in the newspaper and on the television is not real in any true sense of the word. Merely a crazy fun-house mirror reflection of the truth. Important features shrunk to nothing, tiny flaws blown up out of proportion. Apparently solid shapes that - on inspection - are nothing but strange plays of light and shadow.

With that in mind, let's remind ourselves of the kind of completely bonkers things we're all expected to believe.

1. The Inherent silliness of "ISIS"

This was section was going to be more specific, but as I looked back over recent history, there was no single absurdity that highlighted how stupid the ISIS story was.

ISIS was, and is, silly. A few bullet points to demonstrate this - and a reminder that these are not exaggerated in any way. These are, supposedly, facts:

The always rogue and occasionally imprisoned John McAfee has been dispensing free advice to all who will listen; from his "Mixology 101" series on bartending, to his Central America travel guide, to offering advice for young men, (which includes "stay out of jail as much as possible") - the 73-year-old gun-toting cybersecurity pioneer who parties harder than most 23-year-olds has some advice for surviving the upcoming civil war.

"Arm yourself to the fucking teeth"

Pointing to a political map of the United States ("This is the layout, assuming we're having war"), McAfee suggests that blue states "arm yourselves to the fucking teeth" with 'vastly superior Israeli weaponry.'

To the blue states of Colorado and New Mexico; "I'm sorry, you're surrounded. See if Mexico won't annex you."

To the central-north states, "you're too damn cold, noone wants you," and the Northeast should "just tell them you're part of Canada and they won't know the fucking difference."

Comment: Amidst the bluster that is McAfee's "advice" is acknowledgment of one sad and horrible truth; there is a whole segment of the US population that - Trump or no Trump - sees what the advances in the police state and other tyrannical political changes are leading towards - and these Americans are preparing to fight it come what may.

Sarah Silverman may be known for her hard-hitting, controversial comedy, but she is aware that her past sketches may prove to still haunt her years later — even her career.

During a recent discussion on The Bill Simmons Podcast, the comedian and actress admitted that a particular scene from a 2007 episode of The Sarah Silverman Program in which she sports blackface caused her to lose a role in an upcoming film.

"I recently was going to do a movie, a sweet part, then at 11 p.m. the night before they fired me because they saw a picture of me in blackface from that episode. I didn't fight it," Silverman shared with Simmons. She said that though she understood, she's not that person anymore: "They hired someone else who is wonderful but who has never stuck their neck out. It was so disheartening. It just made me real real sad, because I really kind of devoted my life to making it right."

The only trouble with the conspiracy theory that hundreds of prominent and powerful people wanted Jeffrey Epstein dead is that Jeffrey Epstein might have wanted Jeffrey Epstein dead even more than they did. But that's mere conjecture. His mind is beyond being read. Of course, the evidence of his alleged crimes didn't die — the "meticulous" records he kept live on, along with the names of Mr. Epstein's patrons, clients, marks, however you might classify the celebs drawn into the pulsating estrogenic bubble of his life, humming that old tune "Thank Heaven for Little Girls...."

I'm a little surprised that Attorney General William Barr didn't have a heart attack upon learning the news. With Mr. Barr already fully engaged cleaning up the mighty mess in the Department of Justice, the FBI, and elsewhere — considerably aggravated by Robert Mueller's bungled operations — another stink bomb leaves federal law enforcement beskunked, bothered, and bewildered. And now the FBI is being sent into investigate? That's rich. America's Deep State looks like a re-make of that marvelous 2018 movie The Death of Stalin, a fabulous burlesque of people in high places acting like dishonorable idiots.

This newly announced program is part of a wider pro-family budget which was unveiled earlier in the year by Orbáns Fidesz government is designed to combat massive demographic declines without relying on replacement migration.

Under Viktor Orbán's new pro-family budget, married couples who have three children will eligible to receive 30,600 euros by the Hungarian government.

The government offer would come in the form of a 30,600 euro loan to couples upon their marriage. The loan would have to be repaid until the couple has three children. At that point, the debt would be forgiven, France's Le Figaro newspaper reports.

In this month alone, approximately 2,400 Hungarian families have already signed up and applied for the loan which is paid out in monthly installments. In the case that the couple has a child within five years, the loan's interest and scheduled repayments are both suspended for a period of three years.

To be eligible for the program, certain criteria must be met include: one person in the married couple will need to have paid 180 days' worth of tax contributions to the state, the woman must be between 18 and 40 years old, and the marriage must be the first for at least one of the individuals involved.

Thousands of Native Hawaiians have gathered on Hawaii Island to prevent construction of the $1.4 billion Thirty Meter Telescope on the top of Mauna Kea which, for them, is sacred ground.

On the rugged slopes of Mauna Kea, Hawai'i's highest volcano, a major standoff erupted in mid-July after Hawai'i's Supreme Court ruled that construction of an 18-story high telescope known as "TMT" (named for the telescope's 30-meter diameter mirror) could begin.

The nearly 14,000-foot high volcano is already home to 13 large telescopes dating back to the 1960s with a history of opposition. TMT opponents say the $1.4 billion TMT must not be the 14th. When hundreds of Native Hawaiians gathered to block construction vehicles, Gov. David Ige showed initial restraint, but by the third day, police and Hawai'i's National Guard were dispatched, key roads closed, a state of emergency declared, and at least 34 kūpuna (elders), were arrested in an emotional exchange with Department of Land and Natural Resources officers.
