The death earlier this month of Foremost Group CEO Angela Chao, the sister-in-law of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, is currently under "criminal investigation," a Texas sheriff's office said Thursday.

Chao, 50, was found dead shortly after midnight on Feb. 11 after being pulled out of a car that had gone into a pond on a private ranch in Johnson City, Texas, about 40 miles from Austin.

"This incident was not a typical accident," the Blanco County Sheriff's Office wrote in a letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Thursday.

"Although the preliminary investigation indicated this was an unfortunate accident, the Sheriff's Office is still investigating this accident as a criminal matter until they have sufficient evidence to rule out criminal activity," the letter said.

Ukrainian city honors Nazi decorated by Hitler

Nikopol has renamed one of its streets after Pyotr Dyachenko, an officer of the Ukrainian Waffen SS Division 'Galizien', the head of Ukraine's Jewish community said on Monday.

Eduard Dolinsky, director of the United Jewish Committee of Ukraine, lamented the move by the city authorities both on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), pointing out that Dyachenko was the recipient of one of Nazi Germany's highest decorations, the Iron Cross.

"The Nikopol City Council has renamed Pavlograd Street in honor of the Nazi war criminal, accomplice in the Holocaust, performer of punitive actions against civilians, commander of the 31st Schutzmannschaft battalion, head of collaborationist units within the Wehrmacht and the SS Galizien division, Pyotr Dyachenko," Dolinsky wrote.

Comment: Mayor Sayuk knows right well of Dyachenko's past, as it is precisely because of his past that he is revered by Ukraine. Sayuk's remark about not being a historian contains the lingering sentiment used by the pathocracy that one must be an expert to understand simple things, i.e. only a biologist can know what a woman is.

Tucker Carlson compares US to Roman Empire

Rome fell after its legions became dominated by non-citizens, the journalist said, likening it to the migrant crisis in America.

Allowing illegal migrants into the US military as a means of granting them citizenship will lead the country towards inevitable collapse, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson said in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.

In the clip, Carlson recalled the fall of the Roman Empire, stating that while historians have long debated the reasons for the collapse of one of history's most powerful empires, one fact has been "pretty obvious."

Comment: This on top of Elon Musk's latest pronouncement of "something far worse than 9/11" on the horizon given the massive influx of migrants across the border. Apparently it's not enough to have a completely porous border, the current administration also wants the illegals armed.

Elon Musk says 'the groundwork is being laid for something far worse than 9/11' after Biden administration ADMITTED flying 320K unvetted migrants into the US

Elon Musk has bashed the Biden administration after they admitted to flying 320,000 unvetted migrants into the US.

Musk took to his platform X early Tuesday and said the president's administration is 'importing voters and creating a national security threat' for secretly allowing illegal immigrants in the country.

'It is highly probable that the groundwork is being laid for something far worse than 9/11. Just a matter of time,' Musk said as he reposted a story from DailyMail.com.

Comment: One has to wonder if this 'something far worse than 9/11' isn't being orchestrated purposely by the shadowy figures at the top of the hierarchy. The mass influx of migrants of dubious origins can't simply be 'so the Dems get more votes' (although that's almost certainly part of it). It appears that what is being orchestrated is nothing less than the destruction of the US empire from inside.

Majority of US voters disapprove of Biden's Gaza policy - WSJ poll

A growing number believe the president isn't doing enough to help the Palestinian people...

Some 60% of US voters are unhappy with President Joe Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas war, a new survey by the Wall Street Journal has found. A growing number also believe the US is not doing enough to help the Palestinian people, the outlet wrote on Sunday.

The Gaza conflict escalated on October 7 after Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a surprise cross-border attack on Israel, killing some 1,200 people and kidnapping around 250. In response, Israel launched massive airstrikes and a ground operation in the Palestinian enclave. More than 30,000 people have been killed in the onslaught, according to the enclave's health ministry, and the UN has warned of an unprecedented humanitarian crisis with dire shortages of food and medicine.

The WSJ poll found that disapproval of Biden's handling of the conflict is at 60%, eight points higher than it was in a December poll. Just over 30% of respondents said they backed the president on the issue.

The newspaper noted that the high level of disapproval has made its way to the ballot box, with more than 100,000 people voting "uncommitted" in Michigan's Democratic presidential primary last week, many in protest at the president's policies on Israel.

Comment: Uncommitted voters turn against Biden in display of opposition:
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the largest socialist organization in the US, has urged primary voters to cast their ballots for 'uncommitted' rather than President Joe Biden to show their opposition to his stance on the Israel-Hamas war.

The announcement comes just two days before the primary elections on March 5 - known as Super Tuesday - when millions of Americans are expected to vote.

In a series of X (formerly Twitter) posts on Sunday, the DSA, which has more than 92,000 members and chapters in all US states, demanded that the White House end the bloodshed in Gaza by revoking military assistance to Israel, saying Biden will be to blame if former President Donald Trump is reelected this year.
"Today, DSA endorses 'Uncommitted' in the remaining Democratic presidential primaries. Until this administration ends its support for Israel's genocide in Gaza and delivers a permanent, lasting ceasefire, Joe Biden will bear the responsibility for another Trump presidency. Defeat is certain" if Biden continues on the current course.

"This week's brutal 'Flour Massacre' has proven once again that Israel is a brutal, inhumane apartheid state which carries a legacy of 75 years of genocide and occupation. Over 30,000 Palestinians have already died; how many will be ENOUGH for Joe Biden to stop this war?"
The DSA refered to the tragedy on February 29 when at least 112 Palestinians were killed and more than 750 were injured while waiting for much-needed food aid in Gaza City.

The campaign calling on Democrats to vote 'uncommitted' was organized by local chapters of the DSA and the Colorado Palestine Coalitions last week and is gaining popularity amid protests against the Gaza war. The DSA noted that over 100,000 people voted 'uncommitted' in the Michigan primary last week. The movement was also endorsed by a major labor union, UFCW 3000, which represents more than 50,000 grocery workers in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

Biden is not the only one feeling the heat from voters who are choosing 'none of the above'. Last week, Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley suffered an embarrassment when she became the first candidate to lose to 'no-one' in the Nevada GOP primary since the option was introduced in 1975.

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance has taken a shot at alleged "disinformation super-spreaders" in the "anti-vaccine movement"

Founded and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gavi reposted an article on Feb 13 criticizing meme creators for spreading anti-vaccine messaging and profiting from pandemic fears.

Critics are saying that the alliance is utilizing the "accusation in a mirror" tactic of attributing one's own misdeeds to opponents.

Price of gold hits record high amid geopolitical tensions and investor jitters

gold russia

The price of gold has hit a record high amid investor jitters over tensions in the Middle East and speculation that US interest rates will be cut by the summer.

Investors piled into the "safe haven" asset on Tuesday, with the spot price reaching a record $2,141.59 (about £1,685) for an ounce, beating the previous record of $2,135 in December, before easing back again to about $2,128.

Comment: Note the previous record was just a few months ago, and this one was likely brought back down by those powers rigging the markets.

The US Federal Reserve is increasingly expected to cut interest rates - now at 23-year highs - in June. Reductions in borrowing costs typically push gold higher because it does not offer any interest.

Comment: With the geopolitical situation escalating at a pace unseen in a century or more, it seems more likely that gold's true value will only continue to rise, which is relatively good news for some nations:

3 unexplained derailments hit Canada in 2 weeks, train hits fridge in 'sabotage' incident in Italy

derailment
© Global NewsPolice in St. Albert, Alta., said emergency crews were called to an incident involving a train at a rail track at Veness Road and Poundmaker Road at about 7 a.m.
Emergency crews were called to a train derailment in St. Albert, Alta., on Monday morning, but RCMP say no injuries were reported.

Police said emergency crews were called to an incident involving a train at a rail track at Veness Road and Poundmaker Road at about 7 a.m.

"There are no reported road closures or traffic issues regarding the train derailment at this time," the RCMP said in a news release issued just after 9 a.m.

Comment: 2 days prior, on March 2nd:
Train hits debris on tracks near Agassiz, spilling diesel; 121 passengers affected

All passengers had to get off after a VIA Rail train hit debris on the tracks east of Agassiz, B.C., Friday evening, Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) tells CityNews.

Terry Cunha, a media representative for CPKC, says the train travelling from Vancouver to Ontario suffered damage to the locomotive's fuel tank, leading to a diesel spill on the railroad.

"Local first responders helped to contain the spill, and an environmental team responded to further assess and work on clean up," Cunha said.

He says he does not know how much diesel was spilled.

VIA Rail had to arrange alternate travel for 121 passengers, the company tells CityNews in a statement.

"VIA Rail called in buses and all passengers were transported back to Vancouver, Kamloops, and Jasper," it said.

No injuries were reported.

CPKC, which owns that section of the track, is now working with the RCMP to investigate the incident.

This was the third train incident in B.C. in two weeks.
Over in Italy, also on March 2nd:
Train hits fridge dumped on tracks at Pompei Locomotive damaged

Passengers on the Circumvesuviana railway in the province of Naples got a nasty scare on Friday when a train hit a fridge that had been dumped on the tracks in the town of Pompei, the home of the famous Pompeii archaeological site.

The locomotive was slightly damaged but no one was hurt.

A bath tub was dumped on the tracks in the same area on February 20.

"It is not an act of vandalism or a prank," said Umberto De Gregorio, the head of Ente Autonomo Volturno, the local public transport company.

"They are criminals, saboteurs, terrorists".
The apparent spike in derailments is notable because they're occurring across much of the planet, but particularly in the West, and it seems to often be energy related cargo, and, in some cases, the authorities themselves are blaming 'sabotage':

26th Feb: 'Sabotage': Train derailment of iron ore in Sweden comes just 4 days after reopening following previous derailment
12th Feb: 118 tons of coal spill into river after 'track defect' derails train in California

They're also occurring alongside a myriad of other suspect incidents, such as explosions and fires, some of which are also being directly attributed to sabotage:

An hours-long stand-off inside a hospital in Aachen in the western German state of North-Rhine Westphalia came to an end late Monday when police overpowered a 65-year-old woman who had barricaded herself in a room.

"As the woman did not respond when spoken to, the police officers used their firearms to put an end to the dangerous situation," a police statement said.

The woman was seriously wounded and wheeled out of the facility on a stretcher.

'We will have a hard landing at some point. I guarantee you that'

crash landing
Can you guess who the quote in the article title is from? I will give you a hint. It wasn't me. I know that it sounds like it could have come from me, but it actually comes from a very big name on Wall Street. Ellen Zentner is Morgan Stanley's chief U.S. economist, and she is the one that said it. During an interview with CNBC she warned that "the tightening impacts from monetary policy" will have enormous consequences for the U.S. economy in the months ahead...
"We will have a hard landing at some point. I guarantee you that. We're all wondering: When does that come?" she said. "The point that Dimon makes is that there are these cumulative impacts that build over time, and we are in the camp that we haven't yet seen all of the tightening impacts from monetary policy," she added, referring to the impact of Fed rate hikes.
She makes a really great point.

The consequences of interest rate hikes are felt over time.

Higher interest rates have certainly started to cause a lot of problems, but if rates are not brought down soon the level of pain that we are experiencing will begin to go up dramatically.
