A video depicting a drag queen clad only in spangled panties and a body harness leading a young girl adorned in a tiara around a bar has elicited outrage and demands for legal action from viewers after the clip went viral over the weekend.

"These people belong in jail," conservative pundit Lauren Chen tweeted on Saturday in response to the video, adding that the issue was a "hill [she was] willing to die on."

The footage shows the unnamed performer strutting around Miami's R House Wynwood restaurant, G-string stuffed with cash and enormous breasts bared, hand-in-hand with the child - who was apparently also deputized to collect cash tips from patrons.

Dave Rubin suspended from Twitter after defending Jordan Peterson

dave rubin twitter jordan peterson
Dave Rubin has been suspended from Twitter after the podcaster and commentator defended Jordan Peterson, who had previously been suspended.

"Since my life's work has already been about exposing and destroying the Woke agenda, I shall now add exposing and destroying Twitter to my resume. Stay tuned," Rubin told The Post Millennial.

Twitter claimed that Rubin had violated their rules against "hateful conduct." His tweet read: "The insanity continues at Twitter. [Jordan B. Peterson] has been suspended for his tweet about Ellen Page. He just told me he will 'never' delete the tweet." Rubin then wrote: "paging @elonmusk," Twitter's new owner.

Comment: It's likely Rubin was also suspended for 'dead-naming' Page. It's a rather stupid policy.

Another day in paradise: 9 dead among 57 shot in Fourth of July weekend shootings in Chicago

Nine people have been shot and killed in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend. They are among at least 57 people shot, according to police.

Last year, 19 people were killed and more than 100 people were shot over the long Fourth of July weekend.

Seeking to prevent a similar surge in violence this year, Chicago police Supt. David Brown had said ahead of the long weekend that people should expect to see a heavier police presence in their neighborhoods.

Comment: Kind of puts the Highland Park shooting into perspective...

Norway's government steps in to end oil and gas strike, averting a new energy shock for Europe

norwegian oil workers
Norway has intervened to end a strike by oil and gas workers, the country's government said in a statement late Tuesday, citing concerns about Europe's energy crisis amid Russia's war in Ukraine.

Natural gas prices spiked after Norwegian oil and gas workers went on strike over a pay dispute Tuesday, shutting three fields in the North Sea and threatening to escalate action over the course of the week.

Norway is Europe's second-largest energy supplier after Russia and the strike had pushed gas prices to their highest level in four months.

Highland Park parade shooting: What we know about person of interest Robert Crimo's social media

roberto crimo art

The "person of interest" arrested in the deadly mass shooting at a Fourth of July parade outside Chicago on Monday has been identified as a 22-year-old local amateur rapper with a history of disturbing online posts.

Robert E. "Bobby" Crimo III, who performs as "Awake the Rapper," was taken into custody Monday shortly after FBI agents visited his family's home in Highwood, Ill., about a mile from the scene of the shooting in Highland Park, WGN-TV reported.

An IMDb page under Crimo's name identifies him as a "rapper, singer, songwriter, actor and director" from the Chicago area. The page boasts one of his songs released in 2018 amassed "millions of plays."

Comment: More from New York Post:
Robert "Bobby" Crimo III, the "person of interest" arrested in the Highland Park mass shooting, used a legally obtained weapon in the Fourth of July slaughter in Illinois — but was not known to police, the local mayor revealed Tuesday.

Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering — who banned assault rifles in 2013 — gave the update while telling the "Today" show that she had known the suspect when he was a Cub Scout and she was the leader.

"I don't know where the gun came from, but I do know that it was legally obtained," Rotering told the NBC News morning show, without elaborating.

She said she didn't believe he was "previously known to police" before the massacre — but noted the apparent forewarnings in his disturbing rap lyrics and social media posts.
Here we've got a contradiction. Rotering is claiming Crimo was not known to police, while other sources say he was. See: Highland Park shooting suspect 'known to law enforcement'

Another question: How did Crimo legally obtain an AR15 if assault rifles were banned in Highland Park in 2013?

Shanghai's government announced a snap lockdown Tuesday across 9 of its 16 residential districts to allow officials to conduct mass testing for the Chinese coronavirus, Xinhua News Agency reported, adding that the movement restrictions will last through Thursday.

All residents across the following districts were confined to their homes effective July 5: Huangpu, Xuhui, Changning, Jing'an, Putuo, Hongkou, Yangpu, Minhang, and Baoshan. An unspecified number of residents in the Shanghai districts of Pudong New Area, Jiading, and Fengxian were additionally ordered to obey stay-at-home orders on July 5, according to Xinhua, China's official state press agency. The movement restrictions were slated to last through July 7 while city health workers screen residents for the Chinese coronavirus.

"During the testing, people living in the affected districts would be required to show a test taken within the last two days to leave their homes," Shanghai's municipal government wrote in a message posted by its official WeChat social media account, as reported by Reuters.

"No household or person should be missed," Shanghai's government said Tuesday of its mass testing scheme.

Comment: Wonder how long before we start seeing 'snap lockdowns' in the rest of the world...

The Bank of England has told lenders to prepare for a "deteriorated economic outlook".

Banks were told to ramp up capital buffers to ensure they can weather the storm.

"The economic outlook for the UK and globally has deteriorated materially," the Bank said as it published its latest Financial Stability Report, largely blaming the impact of the war in Ukraine.

The Bank said the outlook for the UK economy is "very uncertain".

Comment: Which means that small and medium business will suffer.

And so, just how 'deteriorated' can the situation become? Well, just a few months ago the Governor of the BoE warned of looming 'apocalyptic' global food shortages'.

French police were searching for a man on Tuesday who was suspected to have shot dead two teachers in a small village in the Pyrenees mountains, in a crime possibly motivated by jealousy.

The teachers — a man and a woman who worked at a school in the nearby southwestern town of Tarbes — were found dead on Monday afternoon in the village of Pouyastruc, prosecutors said.

The suspected gunman "fled and has not been arrested yet", Tarbes prosecutor Pierre Aurignac told AFP, adding that a double murder investigation has been opened.
