There were at least 30 arrests in Portland over the weekend - for violent conduct, assaults on police officers, and rioting - despite mainstream media reports continuing to describe the rallies as "fairly calm" and "largely peaceful."
On Sunday night, a protester in a wheelchair was filmed arguing with police, who responded with force and pushed the man back to the sidewalk. The encounter prompted outrage in some online quarters and mockery in others.
Several months ago, the immediate disruptions began at the beginning of the COVID-19 hysteria, when factories, distribution centers, and even farms shut down under the pretext of "flattening the curve."
As a result, Americans found necessities were missing on the shelves for the first time in years. Items like hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes were, of course, out of stock.
Soon other items became noticeably missing as well.
People began to notice meat, and even canned vegetables and rice were soon missing from the shelves. Most of this was simply the result of mass panic buying, although "preppers" were blamed for "hoarding." Therefore, people who had not been prepping all along and were suddenly caught with their pants down. But that's not the whole story.
Comment: The confluence of events having an influence over the food supply chain is something to behold. Adding to the political, social and environmental influences we'll also see economic woes that effect the value and purchasing power of money - that is sure to take have an impact as inflation inevitably hits greater heights. Prepare what you can, while you still can.

Sir Maejor Page, whose real name is Tyree Conyers-Page, accepted more than $430,000 in donations through his Facebook page Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta in July and August, according to an affidavit filed in federal district court Thursday evening.
Although Page represented the group as a nonprofit to Facebook, allowing it to accept donations through the platform, Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta's nonprofit status was revoked in 2019 after failing to file tax documents for three consecutive years, the affidavit said.
Comment: From Fox News:
The Toledo FBI office opened an investigation last year after a cooperating witness submitted a fraud complaint against Page, whose real name is Tyree Conyers-Page, FBI agent Matthew Desorbo said in the complaint. This isn't the first time a high profile scam has been run in the name of Black Lives Matter, either.
...
The FBI in Toledo said Page pledged to use those donations "for George Floyd" but instead used the money make purchases related to food, dining, entertainment, clothing, furniture, a home security system, tailored suits and accessories.
According to the bureau, Page also used $112,000 of the donated money to purchase a house for himself in Toledo, Ohio. The transaction took place last month.

According to the station, months earlier Page had parted ways with the Black Lives Matter of Atlanta movement before forming Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta.
In a now-deleted tweet, Scarborough shared a clip of Barrett appearing to suggest that she opposed nominating Supreme Court judges in a presidential election year for fear they may "flip the balance of the court." Barrett made the comments in question after Barack Obama had nominated Merrick Garland to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.
"Amy Coney Barrett opposed Merrick Garland's nomination because: 1. It came the same year as a presidential election, and, 2. She said the nomination couldn't go through because Scalia would be 'replaced by someone who could dramatically flip the balance of the court.' Like her," Scarborough tweeted on Friday.
Comment: The knives are out for Amy Coney Barrett, unsurprising after seeing what they put Brett Kavanaugh through. The latest from die-hard Dem Twitter is to attack her kids. From RT:
Democrat activists attack Trump's Supreme Court pick Amy Coney Barrett, suggesting her kids were ABUSED or KIDNAPPED from Haiti
26 Sep, 2020 21:02
It appears attacking the political positions and Catholic faith of Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett isn't enough for some Democrat activists, who have taken to making wild accusations about her adopted kids instead.
Democratic activist John Lee Brougher, managing director of billionaire Tom Steyer's NextGen America super PAC, said Friday that as an adoptee, he personally needs to "know more" about how Barrett adopted and treated her two children from Haiti. "Transracial adoption is fraught with trauma and potential for harm, and everything I see here is deeply concerning," he tweeted.
Brougher, who is originally from South Korea, didn't specify what he'd seen about Barrett's parenting that was "deeply concerning." He went into social media hiding after his disparagement of Barrett drew backlash, blocking public access to his Twitter account.
Also in hiding on Twitter and Facebook was Democrat campaign consultant Dana Houle, who speculated that Barrett and her husband may not have legally adopted their two children from Haiti. "Would it matter if her kids were scooped up by ultra-religious Americans, or Americans weren't scrupulous intermediaries and the kids were taken when there was family in Haiti?" Houle tweeted.
As in the case of Brougher's tweets, there appeared to be no underlying basis for Houle's broadside attack, including the implication that the Barretts stole their children in "sketchy" adoptions. He suggested that the media might hide the information if reporters found that the adoptions were illegal. He also tripped over the Democrat talking point on abortion, which says that Republicans only care about babies before they are born, by tweeting that there are far more couples seeking to adopt than there are children in need of adoption.
Barrett, who also has five biological children, became a target for such attacks as speculation mounted that President Donald Trump would nominate her to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a US Supreme Court justice, which he did at the White House on Saturday. She currently serves on the 7th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.
Brougher was lambasted on Twitter for making "ghoulish" and "absurd" implications, then cowardly hiding his account. Some commenters went to the Twitter account of NextGen America to call for his firing. Another tweeted: "This organization and John Brougher should be prohibited from being within five miles of any young people. Disgusting bunch of bigots."
Houle fared no better on Twitter, where US Senator Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican, said, "This is the Dem game plan - nothing but raw bigotry and hate. I promise you, this will not stand." Other commenters, including journalist Tracy Beanz, suggested that bringing up Haiti might be a bad idea for the Democrats, inasmuch as Bill and Hillary Clinton were accused of mishandling or misappropriating funds donated to aid Haiti's recovery from a devastating 2010 earthquake.
Barrett's Catholic faith became a point to attack by Democratic senators when Barrett was appointed by Trump to the 7th US Circuit Court in 2017. Senator Dianne Feinstein questioned whether she would have unbiased legal opinions, given that "the dogma lives loudly within you." Senator Dick Durbin asked Barrett whether she considers herself an "orthodox Catholic."
The UK Cabinet is reportedly readying to reinstate a total social lockdown across much of the country's north and potentially London to curb a progressing second wave of the pandemic. One government figure cited by The Times portrayed the capital's fate as "in the balance", with infection rates across a number of its boroughs sparking concern.
According to British government insiders, the first total social lockdowns are most likely to be imposed in Merseyside and the northeast, where case numbers continue to rise the fastest.
The ugly scene unfolded as demonstrators massed in Trafalgar Square on Saturday for a 'We Do Not Consent' rally against the UK's coronavirus guidelines. The video shows the protester standing on a portable chair before police officers arrive and pull the chair from under her feet.
Regarding the economic catastrophe in America and around the world — especially among the world's poor who are dependent upon America and other first-world countries for their income through exports and tourism — I wrote, "It is panic and hysteria, not the coronavirus, that created this catastrophe."
Unfortunately, I was right.
The world should have followed Sweden's example. That country never locked down and has even kept children under 16 in school the entire time. As Reuters reported on July 15, the number of Swedish children between 1 and 19 years of age who have died of COVID-19 is zero. And the percentage of children who contracted the illness was the exact same in Sweden as it was in Finland, which locked down its schools.
Police said they resorted to using the equipment because "some people acted inadequately." The flashbangs were fired only as warning shots, a spokesman insisted.
Videos from the scene showed a large group of demonstrators advancing on officers in balaclavas and full riot gear, who were blocking the street.
Comment: It would appear that Lukashenko won the election fairly, and those protesting for change of any kind aren't doing their cause any favors following leaders that are cavorting with known regime change enthusiasts nor those attempting to seize power undemocratically:

- Key Belarusian opposition leaders say they want friendly ties with Russia and promise not to dump 'union state' or defense pacts
