The bloc is losing its competitiveness due to soaring prices, according to the Hungarian PM.

The EU's refusal to buy Russian energy has been crippling the bloc's economic growth, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told a plenary session of the European Parliament on Wednesday.

Orban, whose country currently holds the EU's six-month rotating presidency, was addressing the parliament in Strasbourg, France.
"EU productivity is growing at a slower pace than that of our competitors. Our share of world trade is declining," he said.
He added that EU businesses were facing electricity prices that are two to three times higher than in the US. And when it comes to natural gas, "prices are four to five times higher."

Colorado Supreme Court tosses malicious lawfare suit against baker who refused cake for trans woman

Colorado's Supreme Court threw out a lawsuit Tuesday against a Christian baker who refused to make a pink-and-blue cake for a transgender woman who said she wanted it to celebrate her transition.

The Centennial State's high court rebuffed the suit on procedural grounds in a 6-3 opinion.

Masterpiece Cakeshop proprietor Jack Phillips had been sued by attorney Autumn Scardina, who is transgender, in 2017 as part of an antidiscrimination claim. Phillips is famous for declining to make a cake for a same-sex wedding in 2012, which turned into a national case that wound up before the US Supreme Court.

"Enough is enough. Jack has been dragged through courts for over a decade. It's time to leave him alone," his attorney, Alliance for Defending Freedom senior counsel Jake Warner, said in a statement.

"Because that cake admittedly expresses a message, and because Jack cannot express that message for anyone, the government cannot punish Jack for declining to express it."

Comment: Scadina has been warring against Phillips for twelve years. Phillips is not out of the woods either. The ruling was made on a technicality issue. Scardina will come up with something new, bet on it. That's called pathological persistence. They/them is not right in the head.

The pilot on Turkish Airlines flight 204 from Seattle to Istanbul collapsed mid-flight and died

A Turkish Airlines flight made an emergency landing at JFK International Airport in New York after the pilot fainted mid-flight, the airline said Wednesday.

The plane had taken off from Seattle on Tuesday and was intended to land in Istanbul, according to Turkish Airlines spokesman Yahya รœstรผn. However, the pilot collapsed during the flight, and he died after attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

"The pilot of our Airbus 350... flight TK204 from Seattle to Istanbul collapsed during the flight," รœstรผn wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Comment: Expect more events in the future. Notice the article makes no mention of the probable cause: the mass covid vaccinations forced on commercial pilots if they wanted to keep their jobs. The problem has been swept under the rug since 2022.

Google backed Israel's military. Now its workers are in revolt

Dozens of workers have been sacked by the tech giant for speaking up for Palestinians against Project Nimbus - but others say they won't be silenced

It's early morning, and Zelda Montes walks briskly through the crisp New York air as they head to Google's headquarters on Manhattan's 9th Avenue.

Montes, who self-identifies as they, fumbles with their ID card at the entrance, blending in with the steady stream of Googlers swiping through the security barriers as if it were just another day at the office.

Armed with an oversized tote bag, Montes pulls back their purple hair and heads to the 13th-floor canteen to order their usual: a dirty chai and an egg, avocado, and cheese sandwich with a bowl of raspberries. Their hands tremble slightly as they grip the coffee cup.

Locking eyes with two others, they get the signal that the coast is clear, head down to the entrance, and sit.

The three Googlers unfurl their banners and begin chanting to demand that Google do one thing: Drop Project Nimbus.

Comment: Don't the Googlers know that their employer was set up, in part, to do what they're currently doing by military and intelligence agencies?

One of the most important substances in the world comes from an area of North Carolina devastated by Hurricane Helene

mineral city
Did you know that a little town in the mountains of North Carolina is the primary worldwide producer of a substance that makes our modern high tech way of life possible? Without the ultra-pure natural quartz that comes from Spruce Pine, North Carolina we would not have the ultra-sophisticated electronic gadgets that we enjoy so much and the global economy would collapse. So is it just a coincidence that Spruce Pine was absolutely devastated by Hurricane Helene?

The two facilities that produce this ultra-pure natural quartz in Spruce Pine are both shut down at this point...
Two North Carolina facilities that manufacture the high-purity quartz used for making semiconductors, solar panels and fiber-optic cables have been shut down by Hurricane Helene with no reopening date in sight.

Sibelco and The Quartz Corp both shut down operations in the Appalachian town of Spruce Pine on Thursday ahead of the storm that swept away whole communities in the western part of the state and across the border in East Tennessee. The town is home to mines that produce some of the world's highest quality quartz.
Hopefully these facilities will be able to open again before the end of the year, because they are absolutely critical to the global economy.

A Faustian bargain with corporate power: From Monsanto to Bayer, the worst of both worlds

monsanto bayer
Environmentalist and campaigner Rosemary Mason has been relentlessly exposing the insidious effects of agrochemicals on human health and the environment through a decade-long series of incisive reports. Many of these reports have taken the form of scathing open letters directed at corporations, regulators and officials in the UK and the EU.

Mason has never held back in her condemnations of the agrochemical giants. After Bayer's acquisition of Monsanto in 2018, her focus sharpened on Bayer, scrutinising its troubling history and its actions, not least during one of humanity's darkest chapters: Nazi Germany.

Bayer's complicity as part of IG Farben, a chemical and pharmaceutical conglomerate notorious for its involvement in war crimes, has been well documented. The company was formed in 1925 from a merger of six chemical firms: Agfa, BASF, Bayer, Chemische Fabrik Griesheim-Elektron, Hoechst and Weiler-ter-Meer.

"According to folks on the ground โ€” fire, medical, law enforcement officials โ€” they're way underreporting the numbers."

North Carolinians have been forced to bury their dead in their back yards as the death tolls have continued to rise. Americans in impacted areas are having trouble finding spaces in morgues for their deceased loved ones. Across six different states, the number of deaths has risen to at least 227, with about half of those victims being in North Carolina.

According to the Spectator, North Carolina families have become so desperate in search of a place to bury their dead that they have often done so in their yards. "It's so much worse than they're saying," said one person in Ashville. "I think there's a massive cover-up."

Over 5,700 American children had trans surgery between 2019 and 2023, medical group claims: 'Treated like guinea pigs'

A new national database maps gender-affirming care for minors, listing where children are getting puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy and sex reassignment surgery โ€” and calls out some of the nation's most notorious providers.

Researchers were able to identify a total of 13,994 minors across the United States who received medical treatment for gender dysphoria over the course of four years. Shockingly, over 5,700 of those kids were operated on.

The searchable database from Do No Harm is called "Does My Hospital Transition Kids?" and launches today. It maps providers and hospitals which provide gender affirming care.

The database can be searched by state, or by specific facility if you're wondering about your local hospital. In total, there are 225 children's hospitals on the map.

Do No Harm, an advocacy group that represents medical professionals concerned about identity politics, gender ideology, and DEI practices in medicine, was able to aggregate their figures by scouring a selection of insurance claims filed nationwide between 2019 and 2023.

Israel Genocide Apologist Labels Media Coverage of Dead Palestinians 'Blood Libel'

On Sunday October 6, a day before the one year anniversary of the latest - and hopefully the last - genocidal rampage of Israel against the Palestinian population, especially in the Gaza strip, an article appeared in the Observer, penned by a Howard Jacobson and titled accusingly, "Tales of infanticide have stoked hatred of Jews for centuries. They echo still today".

The following picture accompanied the piece, as if to whitewash from memory all the photos of real dead and maimed children among piles of rubble and wrapped in white sheets we have been seeing daily for a year on our screens.
