Fauci: Everyone will need COVID vaccine booster shots 'sooner or later'

The FDA is currently working with Pfizer and Moderna to authorize a booster shot for certain immunocompromised individuals

Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci warned during a press briefing on Thursday that a booster shot will be required for everyone "sooner or later" to ensure that the durability of protection from COVID-19 vaccines continues.

"As we mentioned, we are evaluating this on a day by day, week by week, month by month basis, looking at any of a number of studies, both international and domestic studies," Fauci continued. "If the data shows us that, in fact, we do need to do that, we'll be very ready to do it and do it expeditiously."

Comment: It looks like that the people will be forced to get booster shots at least once a year. It is a huge and permanent "market" for Big Pharma and a great way for PTB to continue with the fascistic measures, fear-mongering, and enslaving of humanity.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said Friday he will "suspend" the impeachment investigation into Gov. Andrew Cuomo, arguing that the probe was unneeded after the scandal-scarred executive announced his intention to resign, even though investigators had found evidence of misconduct.

"[T]he Assembly will suspend its impeachment investigation upon the governor's resignation taking effect on August 25," Heastie said in a statement released by his office Friday, in a decision that he said was backed by his fellow Democrats, who control the chamber.

The Assembly's attorneys concluded that New York's state constitution did not allow them to move to impeach an official who had already stepped down from office, Heastie said.

Comment: Tucker Carlson has an interesting take on Cuomo's downfall, comparing it to a palace coup by Letitia James as potential stepping-stone to the governorship, and noting that Cuomo himself had followed the same pattern:

'No Question': Lightfoot Says Chicago Police Budget Will Increase in New Fiscal Year

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot unveiled her budget proposal for FY 2022 on Wednesday, and even amid ongoing conflict between her administration and the union that represents the officers of the Chicago Police Department, she says that there is "no question" that the department's budget will be beefed up in the coming year.

Lightfoot made the comments amid increases in gun violence in the city of Chicago, which along with mass retirements and recruitment difficulties on the police force have caused many in the city to raise alarm bells about the situation.

"It is my expectation that the police department budget will increase. No question. We have to make sure that we are continuing to provide resources to recruit the next generation of police officers, and to make sure that we're doing that recruitment in a way that reflects the diversity of our city."

Comment: It appears that many of the police issues could have been avoided had the mayor managed to understand and plan for the consequences that are now plaguing the department. Hindsight never equals foresight and neither of them equal ongoing and appropriate functionality.

With the Taliban on Kabul's doorstep and the US-backed Afghan government collapsing faster than a sandcastle in a tsunami, US "security experts" are urging each other to avoid "triggering" imagery of their historic failure.

Jennifer Cafarella wrote to her colleagues on Thursday:

"It is a very dark day in Afghanistan. Take care of yourself. It might require avoiding the news. We can & should bear witness. But it does not require self harm. Triggering PTSD symptoms or new trauma does not help Afghans."

Cafarella follows that with a list of helpful suggestions, such as not sharing "images or links to images that are likely to cause trauma" such as the fall of Kabul, Taliban executions of Afghan officials, or anything "Saigon-like" - a reference to the 1975 collapse of the US-backed regime in South Vietnam.

Comment: Truth is the small thing. Perception is the override. It should be the other way around.

There is an ongoing, but hidden, Israeli war on the Palestinians which is rarely highlighted or even known. It is a water war, which has been in the making for decades.

On July 26 and 27, two separate but intrinsically linked events took place in the Ein al-Hilweh area in the occupied Jordan Valley, and near the town of Beita, south of Nablus.

In the first incident, Jewish settlers from the illegal settlement of Maskiyot began construction in the Ein al-Hilweh Spring, which has been a source of freshwater for villages and hundreds of Palestinian families in that area. The seizure of the spring has been developing for months, all under the watchful eye of the Israeli occupation army.

Now, the Ein al-Hilweh Spring, like most of the Jordan Valley's land and water resources, has been seized by Israel.

Less than 24 hours later, Shadi Omar Salim, a Palestinian municipal employee, was killed by Israeli soldiers in the town of Beita. The Israeli army quickly issued a statement which, expectedly, blamed the Palestinian for his own death.

A Canadian police watchdog is probing allegations of excessive force during an incident in which a police officer knelt on the neck of a man being arrested despite him being pinned down and repeatedly crying out "I can't breathe."

In a statement, the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) of Manitoba confirmed it is investigating the excessive force allegation in the August 2019 incident - which has drawn comparisons to the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May 2020.

It reportedly occurred outside James Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg after Manitoba Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to a call about an intoxicated man who allegedly assaulted a person at the airport and then struck an officer in the face without being provoked.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Thursday it is authorizing a COVID-19 booster shot to be given to immunocompromised Americans.

The authorization is for a third shot of the mRNA vaccines produced by Moderna and Pfizer, which as of now require two doses to fully vaccinate the recipient. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommended the booster Friday after the committee met to discuss the topic.

Both Pfizer and Moderna have lobbied for a third dose to be approved as evidence has mounted that some vulnerable individuals are still susceptible to infection and serious illness from the Delta variant despite being fully vaccinated. A majority of breakthrough deaths tracked thus far by the CDC have been of immunocompromised Americans or those with some other serious comorbidity.

Comment: The CDC is blatantly ignoring evidence that Covid infections go up after a vaccine campaign. And now they want to overburden people with already shaky immune systems?

David Mikkelson, the co-founder of the fact-checking website Snopes, has long presented himself as the arbiter of truth online, a bulwark in the fight against rumors and fake news. But he has been lying to the site's tens of millions of readers: A BuzzFeed News investigation has found that between 2015 and 2019, Mikkelson wrote and published dozens of articles containing material plagiarized from news outlets such as the Guardian and the LA Times.

After inquiries from BuzzFeed News, Snopes conducted an internal review and confirmed that under a pseudonym, the Snopes byline, and his own name, Mikkelson wrote and published 54 articles with plagiarized material. The articles include such topics as same-sex marriage licenses and the death of musician David Bowie.

Snopes VP of Editorial and Managing Editor Doreen Marchionni suspended Mikkelson from editorial duties pending "a comprehensive internal investigation." He remains an officer and a 50% shareholder of the company.

We detailed previously how the hugely controversial implementation of a so-called vaccine passport requirement at various international borders and even in some cities like in New York or San Francisco has given rise to a whole industry of counterfeiters producing fakes and forgeries, geared toward the unvaxxed getting around getting treated essentially like second-class citizens.

Going into the late summer and early fall, we are sure to hear many more stories like the following out this week: "Two tourists who traveled to Hawaii over the weekend have been arrested after authorities said the two men violated the state's coronavirus restrictions by falsifying vaccine cards."

The pair of travelers from California, identified by the Hawaii Attorney General's office as father and son 57-year old Norbert Chung and 19-year old Trevor Chung, were detained at Honolulu's main airport on Sunday.

Authorities were reportedly tipped off by someone identified as a concerned "community member" ahead of their arrival. They appeared to be trying to get around Hawaii's mandatory 10-day quarantine requirement for entry into the state for the unvaccinated.

The federal government announced a sweeping new mandate requiring all federal government employees and those working in federally regulated industries, including air and train travel, to be vaccinated against COVID-19. 2:26

Transport Minister Omar Alghabra announced today that the federal government will soon require that all public servants be vaccinated — a mandate that he said will also be implemented by Crown corporations and other federally regulated businesses in the coming weeks.

While Canada's vaccination rate is among the highest in the world — 81 per cent of all eligible Canadians have had at least one dose — Alghabra said the country "must do better."

"We need to reach as many Canadians as we possibly can," he said.

After a blitz in April and May, the number of new first doses being administered daily has been stuck at well under 100,000 since mid-June.
