Rebel shelling targeting several residential neighborhoods in the government-controlled part of Aleppo has left at least 3 civilians dead and 44 injured, RT's correspondent on the ground says, citing information from two local hospitals.
"I've just returned from both of the public hospitals in the government-held part of the city and the figures that we have from those hospitals are that three civilians have been killed so far, the youngest there 13 years old," Phelan said on the phone.

People dig in the rubble at a site hit previously by an airstrike in the rebel-held Tariq al-Bab neighborhood of Aleppo, Syria, September 26, 2016.
"There has been relentless shelling from morning to evening today on government-held parts of West Aleppo," Lizzie Phelan said.
"The figures that we have so far are five killed and as many as 33 injured."
Following the initial panic-buying across India after Modi's demonetization effort shook the nation's faith in fiat currency (sending local gold premiums soaring), news of reported gold import curbs in China (and looming capital controls) has sent gold premiums in China near three-year highs amid limited supply of the precious metal (as Reuters reports)...
The import curbs may be part of China's efforts to limit outflows of the yuan after the currency's slide to its weakest in more than eight years, traders say. China allows only 15 banks to import gold, including three foreign lenders.
"There is severe restriction on the banks' quota to import gold into China. Each one of them have to justify their need," a Hong Kong-based banker said.
Gold was sold in China at about $24 an ounce above the international spot benchmark this week. Premiums went as high as $30 last week, the most since January 2014, according to Thomson Reuters data.
Trump scored a huge symbolic and moral victory with Carrier, in a negotiation that granted tax breaks to the company if they promised not to move jobs to Mexico.
CNN Correspondent Suzanne Malveaux was preparing to cover the Carrier press conference, that featured President-elect Donald Trump and VP-elect Mike Pence, when at one point (right before going on air) the CNN crew started to joke about Trump's plane crashing.

The survey was conducted during the annual address of the Russian president to the Federal Assembly on December 1, which N-TV broadcast live. The privately-owned channel is one of Germany's major TV news outlets, with an average of 5.1 million people tuning in daily, according to the broadcaster.
The poll, marked by the channel as non-representative, asked the viewers whether "one can trust Putin," with the answer options either "yes" or "no."
Flynn was beaten so badly that he suffered several broken facial bones and a cracked skull.
When video of this incident surfaced, the officers weren't immediately fired. It took an 'investigation' lasting over 5-months before they were relieved of duty. Now, however, nearly two years after the assault, the District Attorney's office announced that they will not be pursuing the aggravated battery charges against former officers Richard Garcia and Danny Salcido — so they can likely get their jobs back.
In a clear display of America's broken justice system, a defunct prosecution, along with the Attorney General came to the decision not to try the officers after Garcia's first trial was declared a mistrial.
A survey by ICM for Policy Exchange involving 3,000 Muslims found the majority share the same views of the wider UK population, with 93 percent feeling a fairly or very strong attachment to Britain.
The report, published on Friday, also found British Muslims tend to live more separately than other significant minorities, but added 53 percent show a desire to integrate more with non-Muslims.
The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) strongly criticized the report, accusing it of painting British Muslims as separate, dangerous and in need of saving.

Thames Valley Police said the offensive stickers were discovered in at least two locations in the Berkshire town of Newbury. They say the incident is being treated as a racist crime and are appealing for information.

“They don't need to be worried about us in the winter,” said Kandi Mossett, also a member of the network. “We're perfectly capable of being self-sufficient.
In other words, law enforcement has effectively quashed the sale of potentially life-saving supplies to those encamped at Standing Rock as bitter winter conditions grip the Oceti Sakowin and other camps.
Activist and live-streamer, Kevin Gilbertt, whose video of a police offensive against water protectors on Highway 1806's Backwater Bridge went viral and exposed barbarous police tactics, received by email a letter defining ACE Hardware's sudden change in policy — with a contact phone number.

Buddy Depew, co-owner of Sequim Bee Farm, goes through his hives after someone poisoned about 20 of his hives.
Owners at the Sequim Bee Farm thought a bear got its paws on their honey when they saw one of their hives knocked over. However, that story just did not pan out.
"We knew a bear wouldn't just stop pushing over with all the honey in the hive," Buddy Depew said, according to Peninsula Daily News. "I got to looking, and the rest of the hives, the bees, were all gone."
Depew then found that even though the bees were gone, honey in those hives was left untouched. He now believes that vandals poisoned his bees, specifically because yellow jackets, known to steal honey rather than make, were also dead.
