A video has surfaced showing the president of the Berkeley Teachers' Union dropping off his two-year-old daughter at an in-person preschool, after saying Berkeley schools should only reopen to in-person learning when faculty are vaccinated, among other stipulations.

Matt Meyer, president of the Berkeley Federation of Teachers, has advocated for what he referred to as the 'gold standard' for the teachers in the union which he said included, "Social distancing, mask-wearing, and vaccinations for adults will create the safest environment for in-person education for the end of this year."

Comment: What forty years of cultural marxism indoctrination has wrought: California has had a few dustups with its education organizations.

Israeli diplomat Michael Freeman used two student societies as fronts in an attempt to dupe a British academic into "debating" him. Witnesses have told The Electronic Intifada his 2017 talk at the University of Kent was "propaganda" and "a well-orchestrated fraud." Guarded by personnel from the Israeli embassy, the event was jointly organized by the Current Affairs Society and the Jewish Society.

Professor Glenn Bowman had agreed to a discussion with an academic on the impact of the Balfour Declaration - to "facilitate encounters with experts from a variety of practical and academic fields," the students initially claimed. But a few hours later student Sam Williams wrote to Bowman apologizing for their "misleading email" and saying that the other speaker would in fact be Michael Freeman from the Israeli embassy.

Freeman is a career diplomat for Israel who is neither an academic nor an expert. Born in the UK, he settled in Israel in 1998.

Bowman, who is now retired, told The Electronic Intifada that he pulled out after he learned the event was essentially a public relations exercise by the Israeli embassy, and did not attend. A member of university staff who did attend told The Electronic Intifada that it was "a well-orchestrated fraud of an event." The staff member spoke on condition of anonymity.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday apologized amid a recent series of allegations of inappropriate behavior, saying he "never touched anyone inappropriately" while also saying he will not resign. The Democratic governor's remarks are the first since three women in recent days have accused him of inappropriate behavior.

Cuomo, who is facing calls from Republicans and fellow Democrats to resign, said he has "learned an important lesson about his own behavior around women."

"I now understand that I acted in a way that made people feel uncomfortable," he also said in a press conference. "It was unintentional and I truly and deeply apologize for it."

Cuomo said he will "fully cooperate" with the state attorney general's investigation into sexual harassment allegations, according to the Associated Press.

Attorney General Letitia James is in the process of selecting an outside law firm to conduct an investigation into the allegations and produce a report that will be made public, the wire service also reports.

Comment: A politician doesn't rise to be governor of New York and not know how to effectively backpedal incriminating allegations and downplay one's actions. Cuomo just isn't very good at it.

Surprise, surprise. US Federal Judge Beryl Howell on Wednesday ordered the release of a prominent member of the far-right Proud Boys group while he awaits trial. Judge Beryl ruled the feds failed to show that Ethan Nordean posed such a danger to the public that he must be jailed while his case unfolds.

On Tuesday The Gateway Pundit reported on Ethan Nordean and fellow Proud Boy Dominic Pezzola who were jailed and tortured while waiting their court date for attending the protests at the US Capitol on January 6th.

The Feds got caught overselling their worthless trinkets like an infomercial at 3 AM with free wind chimes. According to Reuters Nordean WAS NOT a ringleader on January 6th as the feds said he was. The case against Nordean is falling apart but the federal government wanted to keep him locked up without bond anyway.

Though the 18-year, $787 million US "gender equality" effort hasn't so much as created a word in Afghan languages for the concept, a new report is likely to be used by Washington to justify keeping troops in Afghanistan forever.

"Support for gender equality: Lessons from the US experience in Afghanistan" was among the flurry of reports produced for the new administration and presented at the end of February by John Sopko, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR).

The 242-page volume goes over the entire history of US "gender programs" in Afghanistan, from the October 2001 invasion through the end of 2020, and describes many problems and shortcomings - but ends up concluding they should continue, along with the US presence there.

NYPL pushes back: New York Public Library says it will keep canceled Dr. Seuss titles on shelves - 'We don't censor books'

Public libraries across the US are pushing back against the cancelation of Dr. Seuss books, with the New York Public Library being the latest to say it will not censor the suddenly-controversial titles.

"As with all public libraries the New York Public Library does not censor books," spokeswoman Angela Montefinise said of the Seuss books in question, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.

Six titles - including If I Ran the Zoo, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street and Scrambled Eggs Super! - have been blasted as politically incorrect for supposed racial and ethnic stereotypes, and the company behind their publication announced this week the books will no longer be printed or licensed to third parties.

The self-described "QAnon Shaman" -- who garnered widespread recognition after storming the Capitol shirtless, wearing face paint, a bearskin and horned headdress on Jan. 6 -- claimed in a jailhouse interview aired Thursday that police officers "waved" him and others into the building on that day nearly two months ago.

Jacob Chansley answered questions from 60 Minutes Plus for an interview first aired on CBS This Morning, a day before a Washington, D.C., judge is set to hear arguments Friday over his pre-trial release.

Prosecutors argued in a new filing on Monday that Chansley is a danger to the community, explaining he held a speared weapon as he confronted officers inside the Capitol, wrote a threatening note to then-Vice President Mike Pence and spoke about ridding the government of traitors.

Comment: As an aside, what kind of "mob" stays inside the velvet visitor ropes? Sure looks like this particular group felt welcome. One more data point in favor of planted agents provocateurs in the larger crowds outside?

Explosion damages COVID-19 testing centre in the Netherlands
An explosion blew out the windows of a COVID-19 testing centre in the town of Bovenkarpsel in North Holland, Dutch police said on Wednesday.

Nobody was injured in the blast, which occurred just before 7am.

Menno Hartenber, a spokesman for North Holland police, told Euronews "a small metal object or pipe, 10cm in length, was attached to the side of the COVID-19 test centre".

He told Euronews the loud blast was heard by people nearby, and it left five windows shattered.

Dutch police added that they had cordoned off the area and were "investigating the explosive and its origin".

A bomb squad was sent to see whether any explosive material remained at the scene.

"For the moment, we are not ruling out any leads and cannot yet say anything about the motives, an investigation is under way," Hartenberg said.

The man who drove a rented van down Toronto sidewalks trying to kill as many people as he could has been found guilty of murdering 10 people and attempting to kill 16 more.

At least 33 people have been killed after Myanmar's security forces opened fire on peaceful anti-coup protesters in multiple towns and cities, in the worst day of violence since the military coup last month.

Police and military have increasingly used lethal violence in an attempt to crush demonstrations, killing at least 40 people since the coup on 1 February.

Crowds have continued to take to the streets daily in defiance of the military junta, with just goggles, hard hats and homemade shields for protection. Protesters are demanding that the military restore democracy and for their elected leaders to be released.

Thinzar Shunlei Yi, a human rights activist based in Yangon, described the military's use of force against protesters as a "daily slaughter".
