This does not mean that lockdowns were the wrong policy, since they might have been necessary to prevent the National Health Service from being overwhelmed with COVID-19 critical-care patients. (And such measures are justified, proponents argue, on the grounds that they prevent infected individuals from harming others by inadvertently transmitting a deadly disease.) But as I will argue below, there's plenty of evidence that supports those on the other side of this issue, notwithstanding the efforts of politicians, experts, and social-media companies to paint such dissent as marginal or even dangerous.

Throughout the pandemic, the British government has assured the public that it is being "led by the science." However, a number of scientists and other commentators have disputed this claim. These "lockdown sceptics" (for want of a better term) have argued that indiscriminate, heavy-handed lockdowns are not grounded in science, and that a more focussed protection strategy is preferable. On October 4th, 2020, three scientists — epidemiologist Sunetra Gupta, medical professor Jay Bhattacharya, and biostatistician Martin Kulldorff — gave a forceful endorsement of this alternative view when they signed the Great Barrington Declaration. This is a statement by infectious-disease experts and public-health scientists who have "grave concerns" about the impacts of "prevailing COVID-19 policies." Since then, many other scientists, healthcare workers, and members of the public have added their signatures.

The elderly were prioritised for the Covid vaccine but it appears many are now breaking the rules.
Four out of 10 over-80s are breaking Covid lockdown rules within three weeks of being given a first jab of the vaccine, it emerged today.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics found that an estimated 41 per cent admitted they had met someone other than a household member, care worker or member of their support bubble, indoors.
Researchers said 23 per cent said they had met their children indoors after receiving at least one jab.
In addition to readily censoring conservatives, the social media platform has also cracked down on users sharing COVID-19 "misinformation."
Amidst the heavy-handed censorship, Alison Fauci has been working at the company since graduating in 2014, The National Pulse can reveal.
Comment: The idea that Twitter is censoring information that runs counter to the official Covid narrative simply because Anthony Fauci's daughter is behind the scenes pulling strings in favor of her father's diktats is a bit of a stretch. Actually, it's a lot of a stretch. It's ridiculous. Twitter would be pushing the same line on coronavirus they're pushing now even if his daughter worked at McDonalds. Twitter is a tool for pushing deep level reality consensus, not the whims of nepotism.

Health experts have warned that there is a direct correlation between obesity and higher COVID-19 death tolls across the globe, findings that will not jive well with the woke trend to promote being overweight as 'body positivity'.
The London Telegraph reports that a study of 100 countries by the World Obesity Federation found that 2.2 million of 2.5 million deaths occurred in countries with high levels of obesity.

The sale of the century is very much on. The powers that be want every single person to be vaccinated, and they're pulling out all the stops to make sure it happens.
Here are the five main ways the establishment is trying to manufacture your consent.
Jumping onto the coattails of pro-individual freedom leaders like governors Ron DeSantis (R-Florida) and Kristi Noem (R-SD), the governors of Mississippi and Texas decided Tuesday to announce an end to business restrictions and statewide mask mandates.
Both Tate Reeves (R-MS) and Greg Abbott (R-TX), who had long taken a nanny state approach to the COVID-19 crisis, acted almost simultaneously to announce the end of statewide restrictions.
Comment: What remains to be seen are the steps the Biden administration will take to coerce, threaten or blackmail the above mentioned states into stepping back in line. And, in turn, how these states will choose to respond.
The company is now messaging users saying that their listings have been removed because it didn't follow the "Offensive Material Policy."
Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced this week that they are discontinuing six of the author's books that crazy liberal activists have been complaining about, including If I Ran the Zoo and And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.
"Listings that promote or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination aren't allowed," the message said.
Under a heading about "what activity didn't follow the policy," eBay explained that "Dr. Seuss Enterprises has stopped publication of this book due to negative portrayal of some ethnicities."
The race in question - a Democratic primary - occurred in Ward 1 or Aberdeen, Mississippi for the position of alderman between candidates Robert Devaull and Nicholas Holliday.
The judge's ruling revealed that sixty-six of eighty-four absentee ballots - nearly 79 percent - cast in the June runoff were fraudulent.
Carlson argued that, despite claims to the contrary, Seuss was as far from "racist" as one could possibly be.
Carlson began with a clip from a few years earlier in which former Democratic Georgia state Rep. LaDawn Jones had argued that Seuss was a racist, basing her findings primarily on "stereotypical" imagery in his illustrations.
"Now at the time, what you just heard seemed incomprehensible, in fact as we noted, kind of demented," Carlson said, adding that he thought of all the criticisms one could make about Seuss, "racist" might be the least accurate. "Dr. Seuss was not a racist. Dr. Seuss was a preachy liberal, he was an evangelist against bigotry. He wrote an entire shelf of books against racism, and not in a subtle way. They were clearly, explicitly against racism. That was the whole point of writing them was to teach children not to be racist."
Wall Street Journal's Meghan Cox Gurdon revealed in a column that "critical-theory ideologues, school teachers and Twitter agitators are purging and propagandizing against classic texts," including Homer's The Odyssey.
Gurdon highlighted that in 2018, a Seattle English teacher tweeted that he would rather die than teach the "The Scarlet Letter" under the hashtag #disruptexts.
The biography of Twitter account @DisruptTexts, says it is "a movement to rebuild the literary canon using an antibias, antiracist critical literacy lens."
Comment: It makes sense why critical-theory activists in schools would do this. Homer's lessons about the laws of hospitality (xenia) are fundamental to the bonds that maintain social relationships and community. Breaking the subtle vows of decency toward one another leads to chaos under different laws - those that fall under our animal nature that demand submission to the herd. Homer's books are in direct violation of herd mentality.

Comment: Jeebus, if you can't leave home to see your family even after getting the bloody vaccine then why the hell would anyone bother getting it! Good on these seniors! Enough is enough!
