Skyway robbery: US government seizing billions in cash from air travelers without ever filing a criminal charge

Cody James tsa sieze cash
© WJZY Photo/Jody BarrCody James holds a Homeland Security document a federal agent handed him after a DHS agent seized $27,600 from him at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport on July 16, 2021.
It was just before seven in the morning when Cody James wiggled out from under his backpack and plopped it down onto the conveyor belt to be scanned. That backpack was likely the most expensive one rolling through the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport that July morning.

It contained $27,600, cash.

James had checked flight rules before he took off and found no rule or law banning passengers from carrying large amounts of cash on domestic flights. Probably because, as we'll detail later, there is no law against it.

The sad story of Ellen/Elliot Page: From Hollywood glamour queen to trans-activist oddity

The actor's journey through the various stages of enlightened wokery follows a well-worn path for the young today: from feminist to vegan to gay to trans in 12 years. I hope Page is finally now happy, because what's left?

Ellen (Elliot) Page made a recent appearance at the Met Gala, seemingly fully transformed from her former identity of attractive female starlet into that of a mawkish boy-band tryout.

Page, 34, who is famous for appearing in such films as X-Men, Juno, and Inception as a woman, recently came out as transgender and now identifies as a man. This follows a gradual and all-too-predictable series of political revelations that Page has espoused over the years, following a not-uncommon pattern of woke social-justice acts, which seem only to be exemplified by the strains of celebrity life.

The mask comes off in a two-tier society where there's one rule for elites and another for the rest of us

Which side of the velvet rope are you on? Are you one of the cool kids? Were you born on the right side of the tracks? Did your ancestors come over on the Mayflower? Are you on the Forbes 400 list of the richest Americans? And now another question to test your social standing: Do you have a high enough status so that you don't have to wear a face mask?

That last question comes to mind as we think about last weekend's Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, which were staged on a strictly two-tier basis: The Hollywood glitterati performers and guests did not wear masks, while the help did.

This tableau was apparently too much for comedian Seth Rogen. He blasted the Emmy operators, saying, "They said this was outdoors. It's not. They lied to us."

White male students forced from 'multicultural' space at Arizona State because 'whiteness is not a culture'

A video clip emerged on Thursday showing two young, female students of color harassing two white, male students to leave the "multicultural" students space at Arizona State University.

Two students were sitting at a table studying, and one of them had a "police lives matter" sticker on his laptop when two other students, both women, walked over to tell them that their presence was offensive.

The girls who filmed the encounter and targeted the students, identified themselves in a different video as student activists Mostadi and Zara. One of the girls filming the video called the student with the "police lives matter" sticker "offensive." One of the male students replied: "We're just trying to do school."

Dozens of vaccine-passport protesters have swarmed a food court in New York City. Although the court has a vaccinated-only policy, the protesters were not asked to provide any proof of vaccination.

A crowd of some 60 people took over the Food District area at the Staten Island Mall on Saturday in a protest against New York's city-wide vaccine mandate. A video shared by FreedomNewsTV shows activists flooding the food court without any resistance from either security or staff despite a sign at the entrance warning diners that they must be vaccinated to enter the court. The protesters then proceed to take seats, occasionally breaking into chants of "USA!" and "f**k Joe Biden."

Comment: "We are many, they are few." It looks like at least some of the people are waking up to the idea. Not everyone is happy about it.

Daycare teacher caught on video shoving 4-year-old to ground

Jennifer Miller and James Ciolino
Disturbing video shows an Ohio daycare teacher shove a 4-year-old girl onto the floor while a second teacher looks on and then walks away.

Wilde Kingdom Early Learning Center teacher James Ciolino was fired and slapped with an assault charge for the June 21 incident, in which he knocks the girl to the ground as her legs are flung into the air and she bursts into a crying fit.

"Get out of here," Ciolino is heard saying as he goes back to clapping and leading the class in a good morning song.

The girl cries loudly on the ground for about 50 seconds before he finally gets up from a chair — but rather than check on her or try to comfort her, he slings her under his arm like a sack of potatoes and takes her from the room.

Two non-governmental organizations (NGOs) said they had brought a legal case before the Paris administrative court to order French customs to disclose records over war equipments exports, especially to Saudia Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Amnesty International France and the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) said in a statement that they filed the case after French customs declined to disclose documentation over the potential sale of weapons in connection with the Yemen conflict.

The two NGOs raised concerns that French weapons should be used in the conflict.

President Joe Biden continued his conflict with American reporters Friday, urging Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to take questions from them during a meeting in the Oval Office.

"I think, with your permission, you could not answer questions because they won't ask any questions on point," Biden told Modi, referring to the American press.

The president also criticized White House reporters for their behavior in the Oval Office.

Comment: He probably doesn't even remember it.

Parents of murdered boy tell court they have been 'completely broken' by son's death.

Two 14-year-old boys have been sentenced to 13 years and 12 years respectively in a young offenders institution for the murder of a 13-year-old autistic boy.

Olly Stephens was "ambushed" in Emmer Green, Reading, on the afternoon of 3 January this year after he had apparently sought to defend another boy who was being humiliated in a social media group chat.

The boy was lured to a field in the area by a girl he knew before he was knifed to death by the two teenagers who were lying in wait.
