Fascism: Annapolis hospital to discriminate against smokers for job openings

Smoking is healthier than fascism
Smoking: it's healthier than Fascism!

Comment: "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - for ever." George Orwell, 1984

A cigarette can linger several days in the body and beginning this month it's enough to disqualify job applicants at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Comment: So along with being unable to smoke virtually anywhere, you'll now be unable to get a job if you smoke. The war and discrimination against smokers continues.

The Annapolis hospital has announced it will test the urine of applicants for signs of tobacco. Fail the test? Lose the job, though applicants may apply again for testing after six months.

"We are role models for the community," hospital spokeswoman Kelly Swan said. "We care about our employees and want them to live healthy lives."

Comment: How about testing them for trans fats? Or eating fast food? Or excessive sugar consumption? How about gluten? Or binge drinking? Or a wide variety of other things that are detrimental to people's health? Even if smoking were harmful, which it's not, this clearly has nothing to do with wanting their employees to live healthy lives:

Comment: This is an insane policy that's being carried out by brainwashed idiots. That may be hard for many to accept, but when you take the evidence of the benefits of smoking natural tobacco into account, and the completely irrational nature of their arguments when also factoring in the large quantity of things that people are allowed (and usually encouraged) to do to themselves, consciously or not, that are harmful, which aren't regulated "for their benefit", then it's pretty hard to draw any other conclusion. Then again, it's hard to expect much from people who share an ideology with Hitler:

Adolph Hitler: Vegetarian, teetotaler, anti-smoking campaigner
Adolph Hitler the Anti-Smoking Crusader

Hitler wasn't just a non-smoker; he was vehemently opposed to smoking and couldn't abide the smell of cigarette smoke. Edward Deuss is recorded on Nizkor.org as saying that no one was allowed to smoke in any room Hitler was likely to enter, and that when Hitler noticed his men leaving a meeting room at hourly intervals, someone had to lie to him and say they were going to the toilet, when in fact they needed a cigarette. Cross records that Hitler spotted a member of his press corps taking a quick puff outside the aeroplane at a refuelling stop, flew into a rage and sacked him on the spot.
The last sentence may make Hitler look like some kind of deranged lunatic, but in reality, he was just so concerned for the guy's well-being that he couldn't control himself and fired him for his own good! (pardon the sarcasm)

'The System' will collapse when the trucks stop delivering

Image
Collectively speaking, most Americans take for granted the system in place to deliver essential supplies to their area. "The system," an underlying infrastructure that keeps goods, services and commerce in America flowing creates a sense of normalcy and order. Food, water, gasoline and medications are just a few of the items restocked weekly in order for our dependent society to maintain a steady flow. What many fail to grasp is just how fragile the system is and just how quickly it can collapse.

Our transportation systems are one of the weakest links in the system. Mac Slavo explains:
In a 2012 report prepared for legislators and business leaders by the American Trucking Associations highlights just how critical our just-in-time inventory and delivery systems are, and assesses the impact on the general population in the event of an emergency or incident of national significance that disrupts the truck transportation systems which are responsible for carrying some ten billion tons of commodities and supplies across the United States each year.

A shutdown of truck operations as a result of elevated threat levels, terrorist attacks, or pandemics would, according to the report, have "a swift and devastating impact on the food, healthcare, transportation, waste removal, retail, manufacturing, and financial sectors."

So too would events such as an EMP attack or a coordinated cyber-attack that could shut down global positioning systems and the computers responsible for inventory control.

Foul play suspected in oil refinery blast in southern France as electronic device discovered at scene

Image
© Reuters/Philippe LaurensonSmoke billows into the sky from one of two fires that started overnight on a petrochemical facility owned by American firm LyondellBasell at the refineries around the Etang de Berre, near Marseille, southern France, France, July 14, 2015.
An electronic device has been discovered by investigators next to a petrochemical facility in southern France, where two tanks caught fire on Tuesday. Sources say it might confirm earlier suspicions that the blaze was started on purpose.

"The simultaneous explosion of the tanks, which are spaced about 500 meters from each other, is not the result of a technical accident. The thesis of criminal intent is clearly being considered," an anonymous source told Reuters.

The device is now being analyzed to find out if it could have started the fire, police officials told Liberation.

This follows, an announcement by French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve on Wednesday, for a major increase in security at industrial sites across the country.

Top doctor for Planned Parenthood caught on camera describing selling fetal organs on black market

New footage allegedly shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America's top doctor describing how the clinics sell the body parts of aborted babies, in some cases using illegal partial-birth abortion procedures, while eating lunch.

Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood's Senior Director for Medical Services, was caught on video talking about how abortions can be performed in a way that makes their body parts and organs suitable for sale.

The exposé is the culmination of a three-year investigation of the practice by the pro-life Center for Medical Progress, which hired actors to pretend to be buyers from a human biotech company.

"Yesterday was the first time she said people wanted lungs. And then, like I said, always as many intact livers as possible," she is seen telling the actors between bites of food. "People just want... some people want lower extremities, too. I mean that's easy. I don't know what they're doing with it, I guess they want muscle."

"We've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I'm not gonna crush that part," Nucatola adds. "I'm gonna basically crush below, I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact."

Comment: It's worth keeping in mind that this isn't an issue of pro-choice vs. pro-life. This is an issue of another organization that is run by corrupt, ponerized individuals. Making abortions illegal will not stop the proliferation of corruption and evil within the public and private sectors.

Video that police tried to keep secret released showing killing of unarmed man

After months of legal battles a federal judge has ordered a California city to release video from police dashcams showing officers fatally shooting an unarmed man in the Los Angeles suburbs after mistaking him and two others for robbery suspects.

The city of Gardena paid out $4.7 million to settle a federal lawsuit with the family of the deceased and his brother, who was injured during confrontation with police. Authorities have been struggling to keep the dramatic video private, however.

Early morning of June 2, 2013, Ricardo Diaz-Zeferino was stopped by police investigating a bicycle theft. The 34-year-old was trying to help his brother find his stolen bike when he was rounded up as a suspect instead. Witnesses said Zeferino attempted to tell officers that two other bicycle-riding friends they had stopped were the wrong men.

Police stated that Diaz-Zeferino approached the officers and was shot after repeatedly ignoring police orders. Officials said law enforcement officers fired in fear that he had a weapon, because the suspect was allegedly moving in such a way they could not see his right hand.

Slave labor: For-profit prison being sued for forcing immigrants to work for $1 per day or less

One of the nation's largest private prison operators is being sued for forcing immigrant detainees to work for a dollar a day, and in some cases even less than that.

GEO Group Inc., which contracts with the government to imprison illegal immigrants awaiting deportation proceedings, has allegedly forced detainees held at its facility in Colorado to do maintenance work while paying them only $1 a day. The chores included cleaning toilets, showers, windows and floors; doing laundry, clerical and landscape work; operating the law library; plus preparing and serving meals for GEO law enforcement events, according to ThinkProgress.

A lawsuit (pdf) filed by nine current and former detainees at the 1,500-bed Aurora Detention Facility also says they were told to clean prison cells without receiving any compensation. Those who refused were threatened with being placed in solitary confinement, according to the complaint.

The suit seeks to represent more than 1,000 detainees who had been forced to work for free at the facility since 2004.

Comment: The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world, which is directly correlated with the advent of the private for-profit prison system. This highly profitable industry is rife with abuse, with the ACLU reporting numerous instances of poor medical care, lack of basic sanitation and a tendency to overuse extreme isolation of prisoners. Immigrants fleeing desperate conditions in their home countries are now discovering what American 'exceptionalism' actually means.

"Counter Jade Helm"? 100s of civilians plan to monitor possible military takeover of Texas

Image

If President Barack Obama really is planning to implement martial law under the guise of a military training exercise beginning Wednesday, hundreds of civilian volunteers will be ahead of him.

The Houston Chronicle in a story published Friday spoke with a leader of the Texas branch of a civilian surveillance group calling itself "Counter Jade Helm." Eric Johnston, 51, told the newspaper that he's expected to coordinate 20 volunteers throughout the Lone Star state who will monitor incoming troops.

"If a team member sees two Humvees full of soldiers driving through town, they're going to follow them," Johnston told the newspaper. "And they're going to radio back their ultimate location."

The operation dubbed "Jade Helm 15" is expected to take place across seven states from July 15-Sept. 15. A map from the U.S. Army had labelled Texas as "hostile territory" for the purposes of the training exercise, generating suspicion among Texas residents and giving fuel to an Internet conspiracy theory machine that churned out hundreds of rumors about martial law and secret detention centers inside shuttered Wal-Marts.

Comment: Interesting that Pete Lanteri, the organizer of Counter Jade Helm, was a former marine and that his group of volunteers is heavily made up of former military and law enforcement individuals. Their skepticism must be borne of experience and knowledge of the groups they have taken it upon themselves to surveil. And make no mistake about these people of conscience; they are about as brave and ballsy as they come. Because if Jade Helm 15 and all the other signs leading to martial law do come to pass - we will see an inevitable crackdown on dissenters in the U.S. that will make the internment of Japanese/American citizens during WWII look like a Sunday picnic - and these good folks will be at the top of the list.

Greek pharmacists & civil servants launch 24hr strike, protesting austerity measures

Image
© Reuters/Alkis KonstantinidisA protester shouts slogans during a rally organised by the country's biggest public sector union ADEDY marking a 24-hour strike in Athens, Greece July 15, 2015.
Public workers and pharmacists in Greece have gone on strike and launched a protest against proposed austerity measures set to be debated by parliament on Wednesday. Meanwhile, pensioners are expected to hold a separate demonstration.

A few thousand protesters hit the streets of central Athens, holding banners reading, "Cancel the bailout!" and "No to the policies of the EU, the ECB and the IMF."

Comment: Will we see more of this while Greece traverses the rocky road the EU has laid out for it?

5th holistic doctor (age 33) died in Florida making 5 dead and 5 more missing

UPDATE: TIMELINE OF ALL 10 deaths and disappearances at bottom which I highly recommend you read.

I read about Dr. Baron Holt DC not long after he died less than a month ago near me here on the East Coast of Florida. Father's day June 21st. Dr. Holt was coincidentally found the very same day that Dr. Bruce Hedendal (also a DC found here on the E Coast of Florida) was found slumped over in his car. Like Holt, Dr. Hedendal was also extremely fit. Dr Hedendal been doing an athletic event earlier in the day before he died.

These two chiropractors who tragically died the same day in the same state, come 2 days after the death of Dr. Bradstreet MD who was found in a river in North Carolina with a gunshot wound to his chest. Previously Dr. Bradstreet had lived and practiced here on the East Coast of Florida as well. I hesitated covering Dr. Holt's story as I had no information and didn't feel comfortable as there were no recent articles I could reference.

Now there is.

From the article which refers to Dr. Holt as the faithful healer:
His unexpected death last month while on a trip to Jacksonville, Fla. has been a blow to his family and the community he'd created through his work. Though he had been struggling with recent health issues, none were thought to be life threatening by loved ones. His family is awaiting the results from an autopsy report.
I had searched before for any information but saw no statement from the family. Now that I see this article states his family felt he had no health challenge that was life threatening and was a mere 33 years old.

Santa Cruz County decides to do away with big banks

Jamie Diamond
© Wikimedia CommonsI’m counting my money.
The Board of Supervisors in Santa Cruz County, California, have taken a bold step. The County has decided that they will not do business, including investment services or bond issuances, with five major banks that the Justice Department found to be associated with felonious acts in May of this year.

Ryan Coonerty, Supervisor of the Third District of the County, proposed to Mary Jo Walker, (Auditor-Controller-Treasurer) and the rest of the Board of Supervisors that they immediately, and for the term of at least 5 years, cease relations in business with Citigroup, J.P. Morgan & Chase, Barclays, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and U.B.S.

Comment: Here's hoping they are successful.
