The focus on being victimized by racism makes black Americans blind to real problems

For several decades, a few black scholars have been suggesting that the vision held by many black Americans is entirely wrong. Dr. Shelby Steele, a scholar at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, said: "Instead of admitting that racism has declined, we (blacks) argue all the harder that it is still alive and more insidious than ever. We hold race up to shield us from what we do not want to see in ourselves."

Dr. John McWhorter, professor of English and comparative literature at Columbia University, lamented that "victimology, separatism, and anti-intellectualism underlie the general black community's response to all race-related issues," adding that "these three thought patterns impede black advancement much more than racism; and dysfunctional inner cities, corporate glass ceilings, and black educational underachievement will persist until such thinking disappears."

In the 1990s, Harvard professor Orlando Patterson wrote, "America, while still flawed in its race relations ... is now the least racist white-majority society in the world; has a better record of legal protection of minorities than any other society, white or black; (and) offers more opportunities to a greater number of black persons than any other society, including all those of Africa."

If you've ever seen the end of the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes," then you have an idea of what may have happened to a Michigan man in 2014.

In a new television documentary, authorities allege that a serial killer and her husband chopped up and killed her former lover and then served his remains at a neighborhood barbecue in 2014, WJBK-TV (Channel 2) reports. Kelly Cochran later injected her husband with a lethal dose of heroin in February 2016.

The docuseries on Investigation Discovery called "Dead North" takes the viewer on a journey that might just leave a bad taste in their mouth.

Washington Post employees are revolting over "shocking pay practices" at the newspaper, as they petition Amazon CEO and WaPo owner Jeff Bezos to "share the wealth"...of which today stands at $140 Billion.

Over 400 Washington Post employees have signed a public petition addressed to Jeff Bezos begging him to improve working conditions and poor pay at the iconic newspaper.

The petition follows over a year of unsuccessful negotiations with upper management.

Authorities cannot deny requests for rallies on grounds that the events might bring inconvenience to local residents or when another event is held in the same place at the same time, according to Russian Supreme Court experts.

The draft verdict of the Supreme Court Plenum - the full assembly of judges that is being called for making important decisions that could potentially affect many cases - said that the possibility of inconvenience for citizens, who are not participating in the planned events, cannot be used by local authorities as a reason to deny a license for the event to organizers. Experts who prepared the document noted that the principle applies even when temporary changes to public transport routes are needed.

In addition, the Supreme Court experts opposed the practice of punishing organizers of street events in cases where the actual number of participants exceeds the one mentioned in the license issued by the authorities, saying that such punishment should take place only if the overcrowding creates a real threat to citizens' security.

Antifa spreads doxed list of ICE agents compiled by NYU professor

The person who initially compiled the database is an NYU professor. The list has been picked up and spread by left-wing activists amid fierce debates over the hardline US immigration policy and ongoing family separations at the country's southern border.

The Twitter account "nebraska antifa" posted a link to a list of employees of the US' Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), including their phone numbers and locations. As the original post was deleted shortly thereafter, Sam Lavigne, the user who had doxed the ICE agents, tweeted a link to an archived post, giving access to the original database.

There's something particularly disturbing about celebrating the burning alive of a baby.

This is precisely what Israeli Jewish settlers were doing yesterday, outside the court in Lod. "'Ali was burned, where is Ali? Ali is on the grill!", they chanted, in reference to the 18-month old baby Ali Dawbsheh, who was burnt alive by Jewish terrorists in the West Bank town of Duma in 2015. Ali's mother Riham and father Saad died of their wounds a few weeks later. Of the family of four, only 5-year-old Ahmad survived the arson with severe burns.

The terror-supporters were actually taunting Ali's grandfather, Hussein Dawabshe, who was attending a preliminary hearing at which the court decided to indict one adult suspect who confessed to the murders, as well as a minor who was an accomplice. Hussein was accompanied by Palestinian-Israeli lawmakers Ayman Odeh and Ahmed Tibi. Tibi posted the video of the chanting, with policemen standing by doing nothing, and wrote:

"Where's Ali? There's no Ali. Ali is burned. On the fire. Ali is on the grill" - all this was thrown at our face - including at the grandfather Dawbsheh concerning his 18-month-old grandson by the riff raff of 'price tag'. In front of us stood policemen and officers and did nothing. No words...

The terror supporters also referred to the other family members: "Where is Ali? Where is Riham? Where is Saad? It's too bad Ahmed didn't burn as well."

Comment: There's a lot said about radical Muslims and their incompatibility with Western culture. Well, the same goes for these Jewish fanatics. Identity politics will do that.

Palestinian teenager Hassan Abdulkhaleq Mizher Tamimi lost his eyesight after he was subjected to life-threatening medical neglect by Israeli prison authorities.

Tamimi, 18, has a serious medical condition in his liver and kidneys, which makes him unable to absorb protein. He requires a strict vegetarian diet, medicines and periodic tests at the hospital.

Israeli authorities provided him with none of that since his arrest more than two months ago, and his medical condition deteriorated sharply until he slipped into a coma. It was only then that he was finally transferred from the Ofer prison clinic to Shaare Zedek medical center on 28 May.

Richmond's School Board voted to rename J.E.B. Stuart Elementary School in the city's North Side

The movement to scrub remnants of the Old South from public life continued on Monday, when a Richmond, Va. elementary school was renamed for Barack Obama.

By a 6 to 1 margin, the Richmond Public School Board voted to change the name of J.E.B. Stuart Elementary to Barack Obama Elementary School.

Stuart was a legendary Confederate cavalry commander.

Obama, of course, was the first black president of the United States.

The renaming decision went off without hitch, unlike in Charlottesville, Va. last year when the decision to dismantle a Confederate statue turned to violence.

Russia's lifeline to Syria: Damascus gets grain supplies from Crimea

Russia has begun deliveries of wheat from Crimea to Syria. The move solves the dual problems of grain overproduction in Crimea and Syria's desperate need for bread.

The shipments are coming from the Russian port of Sevastopol to the Syrian port of Tartus, where Russia has a naval base. Sevastopol officials said this month that they plan to sign an agreement with Tartus on July 29 to set up a permanent line of communications. The Syrian city will deliver fruit to Sevastopol.

Syria is facing problems with grain supplies due to Western sanctions. Crimea is also sanctioned by the West, which makes it easier for the two regions to cooperate. "We do not have any problems with a number of countries, including Syria," Crimea's Deputy Prime Minister Georgy Muradov told Reuters. "Our countries do not apply sanctions against each other, so of course they are free to work."

University of Toronto Professor Jordan Peterson has launched a $1.5-million defamation suit against Wilfrid Laurier University, two of its professors and a former gender and equity manager for suggesting he was "analogous to Adolf Hitler."

The statement of claim, prepared by lawyer Howard Levitt and filed Monday, says Peterson was falsely labelled as incompetent, sexist, misogynist, dangerous and racist in a now infamous disciplinary meeting with Wilfrid Laurier University teaching assistant Lindsay Shepherd.

Shepherd was disciplined during the meeting for showing students a TV clip of Peterson discussing gender-neutral pronouns, something the university later apologized for, but Peterson told the Toronto Sun Wednesday he believes the university failed to properly respond to the incident.

"So I think this is a warning, let's say, to other careless administrators and professors who allow their ideological presuppositions to get the best of them to be a bit more careful with what they say and do," he said.
