Death threats, stoked by social media and encouraged by international groups of activists, have caused butchers and farmers to "live in fear."
Marlow Butchers, in, Ashford, Kent, was targeted earlier this month by activists who daubed red paint on the doors and windows of the shop.
Since then, the business has been subjected to online abuse.
The Borei-class boats will gradually replace Project 941 Akula-class and Project 667 BDRM Delfin class SSBNs to become the core of Russia's sea strategic component of the nuclear triad at least till 2040. Today, there are three Borei-class submarines in active service. Five more are being built.
The Yury Dolgoruky is the lead ship. It joined the Navy in 2013. The SSBN carries 16 ballistic missiles. The forth submarine of the Borei class is to meet the 955A standard, with the number of missiles increased to 20 along with many other upgrades.
Anechoic coating to reduce its acoustic signature covers the boat's hull. All the equipment is mounted on shock absorbers. It's widely believed that Russia's Navy is the only one in the world to have submarines capable of evading US detection.

Guac’s parents Manuel and Patricia lied down together at “die in" protest to Publix’s contributions to pro-NRA Adam Putnam’s campaign
When David Hogg organized a die-in at a Publix supermarket over their donations to an NRA-supported candidate, he caused them to cancel all political donations - including to organizations that fund Planned Parenthood.
The level of liberal self-own is truly awe-inspiring.
Comment: David Hogg is basically a stupid kid with no real understanding of the consequences of his actions. The fact that actual adults get behind him and follow his initiatives says more about them than it does about him.

The most recent instalment took place last Friday. It was titled: "Political Correctness-Be it resolved, what you call political correctness, I call progress..." The pro side consisted of sociologist Michael Eric Dyson and journalist Michelle Goldberg, while the con side consisted of comedian Stephen Fry and psychologist Jordan Peterson. All four are prominent authors and social critics. The debate was broadcast in both Canada and the United States, was streamed online through thousands of channels, and has received almost two million views on YouTube (across a few different channels) as I write this.
Without a thought for his own safety, Mamoudou Gassama took just seconds to reach the child in a spectacular rescue captured on film and viewed millions of times on social networks.
The incident took place at around 8:00pm (1800 GMT) on Saturday in northern Paris.
Comment: The Local.fr reports:
Who is Mamoudou Gassama, the young Malian immigrant who scaled the facade of a building in Paris to save a toddler's life, earning him praise, a meeting with the president and French citizenship.
Who is he? Mamoudou Gassama is a 22-year-old undocumented immigrant who carried out a spectacular rescue of a four-year-old who was dangling from a balcony in Paris. His act of bravery which took place at around 8 pm on Saturday in northern Paris, was captured on film and viewed millions of times on social networks. [...]
Where's he from? The actions were undoubtedly a staggering feat of courage but it was perhaps nothing compared to what he previously endured on his journey from his home country of Mali to France which saw him pass through war-torn Libya. "I left Mali a long time ago, passing through Burkina-Faso and Nigeria," he told French news channel BFM TV. "It was very difficult." Eventually Gassama arrived in Italy after taking a boat from Libya. "It was terrible on the boat," he said. "There were many of us, a lot of people." Gassama arrived in France in September 2017. He lives in a hostel in Montreuil, a suburb to the south west of Paris. He had travelled to the 18th arrondissement of Paris on Saturday and just happened to be by the building by chance after hearing all the commotion and people shouting. [...]
What has the reaction been in France? Apart from the reaction on Twitter, where people have hailed his bravery, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo praised the young migrant on Twitter for his "act of bravery" as well as phoning him personally to "thank him warmly". "He explained to me that he had arrived from Mali a few months ago dreaming of building his life here. "I told him that his heroic act is an example to all citizens and that the city of Paris will obviously be very keen to support him in his efforts to settle in France," she added. The young Malian will next be honoured for his brave rescue by French President Emmanuel Macron who invited him to the Elysee Palace on Monday morning (see below). Diaby, Mamoudou's brother who was also interviewed on BFM TV said that they would bring up the subject of their status in France during their meeting with Macron. "We would like to have a proper status here, to work in good conditions in France. Then as soon as you have a job you need housing, to have a good life," he said. "Today he lives in a foyer (hostel), it is a very serious situation because there is no space, but we make do. Anyway, we make the most of the situation and ask." The act of bravery by an immigrant has also provoked a political row about immigration in France. Plenty of people have been quick to point out to the likes of Marine Le Pen and those in her far right National Front party, exactly what immigrants can bring to France. Those on the far right however have rubbished the idea that his Gassama's act of bravery should be used to distract from the migrant crisis in France.
Those who point out that one act of bravery does not every migrant a hero make have a point. In the same way that a naturalised citizen who commits a heroic act does not make the whole society brave.
What next for Gassama? There has been growing pressure for he French government to legalise his status in France, whether by granting him French citizenship or simply granting him the right to stay legally. An online petition has been launched on Change.org in a bid to galvanise support for Gassama to get official status in France. The petition states, "At the risk of his own life, [Mamoudou Gassama] climbed a three-storey building to save a dangling child. "Thanks to the courage and determination of Mamoudou, the child is alive. Faced with this act, the Minister of the Interior has the power to offer another life to Mamoudou. "Mr. Gassama must be naturalized and decorated by the French Republic. He who saves a life, saves all humanity." In an interview with BFM TV Ian Brossat the capital's deputy mayor for housing said that "Paris would be on his side in assisting him to get his papers". "I do not imagine that Gerard Collomb (France's interior minister) would put [the rescuer] in a detention center," said Brossat, a guest of BFMTV.
What did Macron do? In his meeting with Macron on Monday, Gassama told the French president of his experience. "I was trembling, I couldn't believe it," he said. Macron asked what condition the child had been in once he'd been rescued. "He was crying, his feet were hurt" said Gassama, adding that he had seen the toddler since the incident. "Bravo," replied the president.
Yulia Skripal's appearance in a British garden and her speech for one minute fifty-five seconds provides fresh evidence, less of what is happening to her in British custody, and more of what is not happening.
What is happening is that Skripal gave a memorised speech in front of a camera and teleprompter, but did not say in Russian what the English broadcast transcript, and also the English-language document she signed, claim she said.
Two script pages were visible on a side table during the filming; the one on top Skripal was filmed signing. The two papers appear to be in a different handwriting from Skripal's signature and in a different pen from the pen she is seen to use. On the top page, apparently the Russian language text, Skripal added words after her signature; these are her first and family names in Russian, but without her patronymic, as Russians usually record their names in official documents. The handwriting of that name and the handwriting of the Russian statement are not the same. Nor the pen and ink used.
"Reality doesn't care about winning arguments; survival is what matters." - Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Skin in the Game: Hidden Asymmetries in Daily Life (page 13). [1]In his latest book, Skin in the Game, Nassim Taleb offers an approach to social and political philosophy that he believes will encourage socially constructive change and increased freedom. He starts with "double-negative utilitarianism," which means to minimize harm. This leads to a focus on the proper management of risk.
Taleb argues that only when people are, themselves, exposed to the adverse consequences of their choices do they take risks that are constructive for society. When they do not have "skin in the game," they take risks that are harmful and dangerous. This leads Taleb to advocate libertarianism, in which decentralized entrepreneurs are heroes, while those who impose centralized decisions are villains.
Comment: If Taleb's ideas are sound (as they would appear to be), then it looks like the US - with all its attempts at enforcing its political policies, values and biases around the world and domestically - is bound as a nation to "eventually blow up," and learn the lessons the hard way.
This would be part of his research for his Ph.D. He was very gracious and I gladly accepted. I received his permission to post his questions and my answers on my blog.
"I pleaded with nurses and other hospital staff to help try to save my babies," Amanda said in a statement. "I was told they would not survive. I asked if they would at minimum assess the babies after they were born to determine possibility of survival. I was informed NICU would not assess the twins and that the babies would probably be stillborn or at best breathe for a moment."
Comment: What is it with doctors and institutions refusing to intervene in cases when infants are in need of care? Is it that the doctors have a supreme lack of empathy or is there something more going on here?

According to a military source in Homs, the Syrian Army uncovered this weapons cache while combing through the northern Homs town of Al-Ghanto, which was a major supply hub for the rebel forces.
The source added that local residents aided the Syrian Army in uncovering this weapons cache.
