Senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps commander Hossein Salami
The senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps commander's remarks come amid increased tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv over the situation in Syria.

In a recent speech, IRGC deputy commander Hossein Salami boasted of the creation of an "Islamic army" near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which he warned threatened to "end" Israel.

"Today, an international Islamic army has been formed in Syria, and the voices of the Muslims are heard near the Golan," Salami said, as quoted by the Times of Israel.

"Orders are awaited, so that...the eradication of the evil [Israeli] regime will land and the life of this regime will be ended for good. The life of the Zionist regime was never in [so much] danger as it is now," the officer added.

Comment: Let it be remembered Israel illegally occupied the Golan Heights during the 1967 Six-Day War and illegally annexed in 1981.

She had taken them off before going to sleep Friday and had no time to retrieve them when the couple escaped the fast-moving blaze Holiday Fire with Ishu's two daughters, their three dogs and a cat, said Mike Eliason, a spokesman with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Many Indians have chronicled their experiences of the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia, and their testimonies comprise not only the thrill of watching football games live but also the hospitality that made their visit to Russia the trip of a lifetime.

Indians, who are ranked among the top 10 nationalities to visit Russia this season to witness the FIFA 2018 World Cup, are exuding the utmost joy for being able to attend the football tournament hosted by Russia. And they all seem to be overwhelmed by the warmth of the host country.

Rohit Saxena, along with his 11-year-old son Vir Saxena, was in Russia from 24 to June 27. They said they were able to provided hassle-free entry into the country without a visa, courtesy of the Fan IDs that were sent to them in advance. Rohit said that the passport control offices at Sheremetyevo Airport had clear and separate areas for FIFA fans to proceed without any problems and they were able to quickly travel to the heart of the city, free of charge, using Aeroexpress.

"It appears considerable efforts have gone into organizing the FIFA World Cup to provide entertainment and convenience for visitors to the cities. From the point of entry at the airport (free visa) to travel between cities to the management at the stadiums - everything was aimed at ensuring a great time for visiting fans," Rohit told Sputnik.

A delegation of 30 South African farming families has arrived in Russia's farmbelt Stavropol region, Rossiya 1 TV channel reports. The group says it is facing violent attacks and death threats at home.

Up to 15,000 Boers, descendants of Dutch settlers in South Africa, are planning to move to Russia amid rising violence stemming from government plans to expropriate their land, according to the delegation.

"It's a matter of life and death - there are attacks on us. It's got to the point where the politicians are stirring up a wave of violence," Adi Slebus told the media. "The climate here [in the Stavropol region] is temperate, and this land is created by God for farming. All this is very attractive."

NYU students hate Trump's nonexistent SCOTUS nominee

campus interview
This month, Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he would be retiring from the Supreme Court of the United States, giving President Trump an opportunity to nominate a potential replacement.

Instantly, Trump's political opponents began questioning the credentials of those who were thought to be on his shortlist for the position.

The same sentiment was seen on social media from pundits and members of Congress alike -- but what would college students have to say about the matter? Did they have substantive reasons for not trusting the potential replacement, or were they simply set on opposing any Trump nominee?

To find out, I headed to New York University to ask students what they thought about who Trump had chosen to replace Justice Kennedy.

Haitian Police arrive at a looted shop in the commune of Petionville during protests against an increase in fuel prices, which the government has suspended.
Haiti's President Jovenel Moise called on protesters late Saturday to "go home" after the suspension of a fuel price hike that triggered violent protests and left at least two dead in the Caribbean nation.

In an address broadcast on state television, Moise said he had "corrected what had to be corrected" following an about-face on the price increases earlier that day.

"As soon as you speak, I listen. Because you started sending me this message last night, I received it and corrected what had to be corrected," Moise said.

"To those watching me tonight, I ask you all: go home," he said, adding authorities had been directed to clean the streets.

The capital Port-au-Prince and its environs have stood paralyzed since Friday afternoon, with major routes blocked by barricades, some made of burning tires, and some protesters even calling for a revolution in the impoverished country.

MSNBC encourages and rewards their hosts for fabricating lies against Democratic Party critics

Malcolm Nance

During the 2016 primary and general election campaigns, various MSNBC hosts were openly campaigning for Hillary Clinton. One of the network's programs featured Malcolm Nance (pictured, above), whose background is quite sketchy but who is presented by the cable network (and now by NBC News) as an "intelligence expert" and former intelligence officer for the U.S. Navy.

On August 20, 2016, weekend host Joy Reid asked Nance about the supposed "affinity" for Russia harbored by Jill Stein supporters. In response, Nance told MSNBC viewers: "Jill Stein has a show on Russia Today." You can still watch the video of this claim here on MSNBC's own website, or see it here:

Whatever your views might be about Jill Stein and her third-party candidacy, there is no disputing the fact that Nance's statement was a falsehood, a fabrication, a lie. Jill Stein did not have a show on RT, nor did she ever host a show on RT. What Nance said was made up out of whole cloth - fabricated - in order to encourage MSNBC viewers to believe that Stein, one of the candidates running against Clinton, was a paid agent of the Kremlin and was an employee of RT.

Reid allowed Nance's lie to stand. Perhaps she did not realize at the time that it was a lie. But subsequently, a campaign was launched to urge MSNBC to correct the lie that MSNBC broadcast, based on the assumption that MSNBC - which is part of NBC News - was a normal news outlet that functions in accordance with basic journalistic principles and would, of course, correct a false statement once that was brought to its attention.

Comment: MSNBC's clear bias is well known and they make no secret of it. In fact, it's something all mainstream news media are guilty of. When it comes to journalistic integrity, that's the last place you'll find it. See also: How the media controls the narrative that controls the world

Southern Pines Animal Shelter was transporting dogs from Hattiesburg to Minnesota when its van broke down Friday, July 6, 2018, near Sardis. About a dozen animals died.
Eleven of 50 dogs being transported by an animal rescue group from Hattiesburg to Minnesota died Friday when the van carrying them broke down on Interstate 55 in north Mississippi.

The van had left the Southern Pines Animal Shelter about 1:30 p.m. Friday before being forced to stop near Sardis, about four hours into the trip.

The two volunteer drivers discovered the dead dogs as they worked to unload them.

Southern Pine Rescue group director Ginny Sims told WREG a veterinarian with the group was sent to investigate the causes of death. Sims said she believes carbon monoxide poisoning from a mechanical malfunction, and not heat, may have been to blame.

"We are committed to helping save the lives of pets in need, and any life lost in our care is something we take very seriously," the organization said on its Facebook page Saturday.

Witnesses said the van was on the side of the highway for two to four hours, with dozens of kennels outside, before area animal rescue groups could provide assistance.

Syrian refugee girl cries as she gets prosthetic legs in Istanbul clinic

Maya's father Muhammed Ali Meri was also born without lower limbs, and crafted tin-can legs for his daughter to walk on.
The 8-year-old Syrian girl, quietly crying in an Istanbul clinic, was overwhelmed by the new set of prosthetic legs she had just received and taken aback by the cameras pointed at her by journalists attending the fitting.

Maya Meri has been in the spotlight since images of her plight hit social media last month. She was filmed in a camp for the displaced in Syria's northwestern Idlib province walking around on contraptions her father made from tuna cans, plastic tubes and fabric.

"I thought of doing something that would protect her while on the ground from stones and other things, so I made these limbs for her," said her father, Mohammed.

Maya was born without legs because of a condition called congenital amputation. Her story moved one Turkish prosthetics specialist to reach out to Turkey's largest humanitarian organization, which evacuated her from Syria.
