An adviser to the Catholic Church has now blamed Jewish extremists for the 'deplorable' attack after Israeli police said there is a 'strong possibility' the fire was started deliberately.
Williams, in her mind, was clearly the victim. She had lost to Naomi Osaka not merely because the Japanese 20-year-old was better, but because Williams had been forced to contend with an umpire, Carlos Ramos, who was on a mission to sabotage her chances of a comeback by issuing her with code violations in the second set.
"I just feel like the fact that I have to go through this is an example for the next person that has emotions that wants to express themselves, that wants to be a strong woman and they're going to be allowed to do that because of today," Williams said in the midst of the controversy.
"Maybe it didn't work out for me, but it's going to work out for the next person."
But where exactly was the injustice she was so bitterly complaining about on Saturday night?
A look at each of the calls that so infuriated Williams shows that the umpire was correct.

Activist Hani Halabiya told Quds Press that Israeli police forces stormed Abu Dis town in the morning for a "security mission" that was not announced.
Halabiya said that Palestinian citizens of Abu Dis clashed with police forces who fired teargas canisters and sound bombs in the area upon students' arrival at their schools in the early morning hours.
Comment: This is not the first time al-Quds University has come under attack. Ma'an News Agency reports:
Al-Quds University, along with other Palestinian universities, has been subjected to numerous Israeli military raids in the past. While Israelis raze villages and target schoolchildren with tear gas, the Trump Administration has, in all seriousness, announced that it will close Washington's PLO office because Palestinians have not taken "steps to advance the start of direct and meaningful negotiations with Israel."
The university was raided several times throughout the years, when Israeli forces destroyed school's property, injured scores of students during clashes, confiscated the school's equipment and documents and even staged a raid during a book fair for students in need, proceeding to destroy and confiscate all of the contents of the fair meant for struggling, low-income students.

The bikini component of the Miss America pageant has been dumped. FILE PIC, Miss Teen USA.
The 98th Miss America pageant faced-off with the first football game of the season in the primetime TV spot, with the giant, spandex-clad men clobbering the properly clothed, poem-reciting pageant contestants. It wasn't even close.
The number of viewers who tuned in to the ABC's screening of the beauty competition plummeted 36 percent in ratings compared to last year - which was already a record-low performance. Last year's beauty contest also squared off against the first Sunday of the NFL regular season - but at least there were supple young ladies wearing bikinis back then.

Poster at Denver international airport questioning what is really going on.
Large posters, placed on hoardings around the terminal, cast doubt on what's really going on. One reads: "Construction? Or cover up?" and features Illuminati insignia on a yellow hard hat. Another shows a reptile head poking out of a suit and asks: "What are we doing?" It offers three potential answers, one of which is: "Remodelling the lizard people's lair."

While searching for missing 23-year-old Aiko Tamura, neighbors called the police after noticing a profound and acrid smell emanating from a nearby apartment; The tenant had only just moved there just two months previously, having left his family home within the same suburb.
When police arrived on the scene and entered the apartment on Halloween morning 2017, they happened upon a gruesome scene worthy of the most sinister and macabre horror fiction ever conceived: Two severed heads, a dismembered pair of arms and legs and the bloodied saw used to wrest them from the remaining decaying corpses.
The apartment would soon be dubbed the 'house of horrors' in Japanese media, and for good reason: body parts were found stored in cooler and tool boxes strewn throughout the apartment and sprinkled with cat litter in a vain attempt to hide the putrid scent of decay.
