A group of high-school students in Southern California gave a Nazi salute and sang a Nazi song during an awards ceremony last year, according to video reviewed by The Daily Beast.
The video shows about 10 members of the boys' water polo team at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, California, throwing the salute once used to greet
Adolf Hitler while singing a Nazi marching song played for German troops during World War II. Two more videos have emerged since this story was originally published.
The incident occurred in an unsupervised banquet room out of view of adults, the school said. The video was uploaded to Instagram by one of the athletes, who also posted lyrics to the song in his Instagram bio. After the video expired, the athlete removed the reference. He did not respond to requests for comment.

A comedian has been asked to apologise for a vegetable-based joke.
Swedish comedian Olaf Falafel has been asked to apologise for a joke he made at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The joke was as follows: 'I keep randomly shouting out "broccoli" and "cauliflower" - I think I might have florets.' TV channel Dave awarded it the 'Joke of the Fringe' prize.
Comment: All Dobson has done with her outrage is draw more attention to the target of her ire. She's right - it's a lame joke. It probably would have died within 24 hours (if that). But now there are articles being written about how stupid it is to be outraged about it. Well played, Dobson - you've probably elevated a mediocre comic to a household name and made your organization look like a bunch of snowflakes.

On August 10th, and for several days after, speculation swirled after it was announced that Jeffrey Epstein had been found dead in his cell. His cause of death has officially been ruled suicide-by-hanging.
Epstein, the billionaire pedophile and sex trafficker with a myriad of connections to the rich and powerful in the United States and several other countries, had
told those close to him that he had feared for his life prior to his sudden "suicide," the
Washington Post reported, while
his defense lawyers claimed that he had planned to cooperate with federal authorities.
Following the controversial conclusion by the New York Medical Examiner that Epstein's death was a suicide — a conclusion contested by Epstein's attorneys as well as by independent forensic pathologists, given the apparent evidence pointing towards strangulation — corporate media coverage of the Epstein case has slowed to a trickle, save for sensationalist stories about his alleged co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell and new salacious details of his past.
Gone from corporate media are any hints of the larger scandal, revolving around the admission that Epstein had "belonged to intelligence."
Comment: Superb reporting by Webb and Mint Press News. She is also brave, given what happens to people who report on 'The Octopus'. All of this, and more, still goes on today. The names of the front companies may change, and new names be be 'blooded', but it's the same series of interlocking ramified networks engaged in terrorism, drug-trafficking and pedophilia on an industrial scale.
For the most part, they either know each other, or at least recognise each other in a crowd. Lacking in any conception of the divine, of transcendence, or a higher power, they are extreme materialists, purely mechanical machines - and yet, while they lack in morals, they are endowed with preternatural levels of cunning.
The world that they create, and control, is made in their image. They are, effectively, functionally, an alien parasitic race feeding off the human race. For the most part, they have no insight into their role, programmed as they are to spend their lives in the service of maximising their fellow man's slavery to the material.
It is very unlikely that they will 'fail' in the way the author hopes. More likely, they will increase human suffering to unbearable levels, at which point the environment/climate itself will destabilize and collapse civilization. As we see from increasing weather extremes and seismic upheaval, this process is accelerating with each passing month...

Since 1990, approximately 15.8 million girls in India have been denied the right to be born because of sex-selective abortion and other forms of prenatal sex selection, according to new figures from the
Population Research Institute. In India today approximately 111 boys are born for every 100 girls, a clear indication that sex-selection is commonly practiced.
More horrifying still, a recent Indian government report shows that none of the 216 births recorded in 132 villages from a northern Indian district are girls, leading local officials to suspect female foeticide. Of those, 16 villages have not recorded a single female birth since the beginning of the year, according to the district's magistrate Ashish Chauhan.
The increasing desire for smaller families is one cause of ongoing sex selection. For instance, women in India in 1970 had about 5.6 children on average, but by 2018 they were having just 2.3 children on average over their lifetimes. This has meant more women resort to sex-selective abortion to achieve their desired family composition.
The government of India has also long promoted population control policies which limit family size, and thus fuel the practice of prenatal sex selection. Six states in India currently have two-child policies that prohibit civil servants from having more than two children.
The practice of sex selection is commonly associated with poverty and countries where women do not have equal rights.

A WikiLeaks associate, who mysteriously vanished last year while on a visit to Norway, was probably the victim of a kayaking accident, Norwegian police say. The man's body remains missing, however, leaving a mystery unsolved.
In a statement on Friday, police said they believe Arjen Kamphuis - a missing cybersecurity expert and WikiLeaks affiliate who was last seen in the Norweigan town of Bodo in the summer of 2018 - was likely "lost at sea" after a kayaking trip went awry.
"The police have concluded that Mr Kamphuis most likely suffered an accident on the evening of August 20, 2018, while kayaking in ... northern Norway, and was subsequently lost at sea," the police statement said. "His body has still not been recovered."
Kamphuis's disappearance has generated conspiracy theories, particularly due to his connection to WikiLeaks and suspicions were stoked further last year when a phone belonging to Kamphuis was briefly activated in a location nearly 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) from Bodo.

Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter made a disturbing discovery on his front lawn — the severed head of a cat — just after a reporter started digging into Jeffrey Epstein's alleged sexual misconduct, according to a new report.
Back in 2006, as the feds compiled accusations against the money manager in Palm Beach, Florida, John Connolly, a contributing editor for the magazine, headed out there in search of a story,
NPR reported.
But as Connolly, a stringer, sat down with women who had worked for Epstein, his editor, Carter, called him to report the gruesome cat head in the front yard of his Connecticut home.
"It was done to intimidate," Connolly told NPR. "No question about it."
Connolly said he decided to stop reporting on Epstein and later penned a nonfiction book about the disgraced financier with bestselling crime novelist James Patterson.
But Carter told NPR that the magazine never ceased its Epstein-related reporting because of any perceived threat.

designed and built by Russia, is set to start its trip across the Arctic to its 'workplace' in the Chukotka Region and will provide Russia's remote areas with heat and energy.
During a special ceremony on Friday the unique vessel, called
the Akademik Lomonosov, will leave the city of Murmansk to float thousands of kilometers, all the way to the small far-eastern port of Pevek, which sits on the Arctic coast of Chukotka. Two tug boats and one reserve vessel will tow the floating nuclear power plant.
"There are no analogues to it in the world," said Dmitry Alekseenko, a branch deputy director of Rosenergoatom, the builder of the floating nuclear power plant.
The
Akademik Lomonosov and its assisting vessels are scheduled to reach their destination by the end of September, their exact arrival time depending on weather conditions. The facility is set to become operational by the end of the year.

New York Fire Department members investigate an incident with an elevator in an apartment building in New York city.
A 30-year-old man was killed in a freak accident when the
elevator he was exiting in his
New York City apartment building suddenly
plummeted,
crushing him in the process.
The man, identified as Samuel Charles Waisbren, was a resident of the building at 344 Third Avenue in the Kips Bay neighborhood of New York City, police said.
Waisbren was exiting the
elevator in the building's lobby after two other passengers had already left the elevator just before 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to New York ABC station
WABC.
When the doors began to close, the elevator unexpectedly malfunctioned and dropped to the basement. Waisbren became trapped between the elevator and the shaft wall, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
