It's known as the "viral load." The most used test to determine if someone has COVID-19, known as a PCR test, is either positive or negative, that's it. But the test does not identify the viral load — the greater the amount of virus, the more likely it is that the patient is contagious.
"In three sets of testing data that include cycle thresholds, compiled by officials in Massachusetts, New York and Nevada, up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus," The New York Times reported Sunday after conducting a review of data.
On Thursday, the United States recorded 45,604 new coronavirus cases, according to a database maintained by The Times. If the rates of contagiousness in Massachusetts and New York were to apply nationwide, then perhaps only 4,500 of those people may actually need to isolate and submit to contact tracing.
Health experts told the paper the current PCR test is too sensitive and should be improved so that it will determine the viral load — which would then rule out those with insignificant amounts of the virus.
What's the difference? Video shows college kids loving parts of Trump's agenda, if told it's Biden's
University of Florida students were asked to comment on some of the proposals in Trump's officially released second-term agenda, in a new video released by Campus Reform, a conservative news site focused on higher education. The catch was that the interviewer introduced those plans as his democratic presidential rival Joe Biden's.
A National Health Service (NHS) officer is being investigated by British authorities after calling out the COVID-19 scamdemic as a "load of bollocks."
Care UK employee Louise Hampton, who recently attended a massive rally of 10,000 Brits against the lockdown, made the claim in a viral video.
"I'm an actual NHS worker and apparently I worked really hard during Covid. Did I? Bollocks. That's why it's a certificate of bollocks. Our service was dead. We weren't getting the calls, it was dead. Covid is a load of bollocks, so this is my certificate of bollocks. I didn't clap for the NHS, I didn't clap for myself. Because why would I clap for myself when I did f*ck all?"It is looking like the lockdown policies will end up being far worse for the public health than the virus itself. Cancer Research UK estimates that 2.4 million Brits had to put off a cancer screening, additional testing, or cancer treatment at the end of May. Additionally, there was a backlog of approximately 2.1 million people who needed a cervical, breast, or bowel screening.
Hampton reported that she received threats after her video went viral, with some hysteria-addled pandemic cultists suggesting that her children be kidnapped for expressing her honest opinion.
James Bartolo, a former soldier, bodybuilder and a man who - in his own words - fights against the "corrupt and failed system" during the Covid-19 lockdown, live-streamed a video of himself arguing with police on his doorstep early in the morning.
The law enforcers, among them armed uniformed officers, demanded that he open the door and let them serve a search warrant for allegedly inciting an anti-lockdown protest planned for this Saturday in Melbourne. Bartolo countered by saying that he "told people not to go" on his Facebook page, but the team pushed forward and threatened to enter by force.
"You are illegally trespassing and you will be charged. If you break anything you will be prosecuted," the man shouts from a balcony, but the lead detective seemed to be in no mood to hear the legal argumentation. "Open the door or I'll force it, I'm not playing a game," he could be heard saying, just as his colleague readied a hammer to smash the door open.
Whitby, Ont. woman Elaine Arbeau doesn't go out much anymore, her son says, unless it's to play at a casino or bingo hall with her friends.
According to her son, the 67-year-old was excited to see her friends again when Delta Bingo in Pickering, Ont. reopened following the COVID-19 shutdown.
But things didn't go as planned when she arrived earlier this month. When she got inside, management asked her to leave.
The bill now heads to the desk of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).
According to SB 145, the legislation "would exempt from mandatory registration" as a sex offender "a person convicted of certain offenses involving minors if the person is not more than 10 years older than the minor and if that offense is the only one requiring the person to register."
The measure would allow a judge to decide if an adult who engages in oral or anal sex with a child must register as a sex offender if that person is within ten years of the age of the victim.
In January 2019, the San Francisco Examiner reported on the introduction of the bill by State Sen. Scott Wiener (D), who claimed the current law, which states oral and anal sex between an adult within ten years of the age of a willing minor requires the adult to be registered as a sex offender, discriminates against LGBT individuals.
On Wednesday, Infowars wrote about Facebook blocking links to the GiveSendGo page for Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse, which has gathered over $380,000 in donations so far.
Now, just a day later, the Christian crowdfunding site's page dedicated to raising money for Kyle has been targeted by Discover.
The corporation explained it "terminated that merchant for operating regulation violations," adding, "we regularly review merchants for operating regulations violations; turning off merchants for violations is a typical process for us, but one we don't make public."
Comment: This is what's otherwise known as a lie. YouTube, Patreon, Facebook, Twitter - they all have malleable goalposts when it comes to their rules:
In a statement, Discover basically says the amount of customers donating to the page is so insignificant that they don't care if they lose business while claiming they don't judge those individuals for how they spend their money.
"We appreciate that terminating this merchant acceptance agreement may be an inconvenience to a small number of our customers; Discover makes no judgment about customer's use of their funds; as a payments processor, we ... terminate acceptance only in instances in which they're found to be in violation of our operating regulations," the company explained.

The Spectator is a widely read conservative magazine, and Co-op is Britain's fifth-largest supermarket by market share. When activists with 'Stop Funding Hate' noticed a Co-op advertisement in The Spectator's pages last week, they demanded that the supermarket sever its relationship with the publication, calling the magazine "toxic and inflammatory."
The group's tweet received only limited attention, but one transgender woman managed to get Co-op's attention, accusing the supermarket of funding "transphobia in The Spectator" and claiming that the magazine prints "overwhelmingly hostile" articles about trans people.
Comment: It would be very interesting to know which group gets the bigger bump in revenue.
According to court documents from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon, 25-year-old Joshua "Eva" Martin Warner, of Beaverton, Ore., directed a high-powered, green laser into the eyes of numerous Portland Police officers attempting to disperse a riot on Aug. 8 outside the police union hall.
The lasers, favored by Antifa black bloc in Portland, can cause permanent eye damage. At the riot, Antifa arsonists attacked the Portland Police Association building by shattering windows and setting fire to it. They also used vehicles and lit dumpsters to block traffic and impede police response.
Warner was observed by Oregon State Police troopers allegedly using the laser to blind officers. When Portland Police responded to her, she resisted arrest, prompting them to use force. One officer sustained serious injuries in the course of the arrest.
A black, pen-style laser pointer was confiscated from Warner. She was taken into county custody and charged for unlawful directing of light from a laser pointer, interfering with a peace officer, and disorderly conduct in the second degree. She was quickly released without bail and has an arraignment date in October for those charges.
Comment: Then there's this upstanding citizen, arrested and bailed out four times in a month, now facing federal charges:
Following a Federal Bureau of Investigation investigation, 26-year-old Kristopher Michael Donnelly, of Kelso, Wash., was arrested and federally charged with felony civil disorder. The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon accuses him of assaulting a Portland Police officer. When Donnelly was arrested four times in August and booked into the local jail, he was either quickly bailed out or released by the county.
Donnelly was first arrested on Aug. 5, where he was filmed using a hammer to destroy a window of the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct. Donnelly was also spotted by police throwing objects capable of causing injury, refusing to disperse, and blocking traffic.
According to court records, when an officer attempted to arrest him, Donnelly used his elbow to forcefully strike the cop in the face. He continued to resist as several officers assisted in the arrest. Donnelly was eventually taken into custody for felony riot, felony criminal mischief, felony assault of a public safety officer, resisting arrest and other charges. He was held on a $5,000 bail, which was paid.
Three days later, on Aug. 8 Donnelly was arrested again by Portland Police during a declared riot outside the Penumbra Kelly Building, a police facility, for felony riot, interfering with a public safety officer, and second degree disorderly conduct. Donnelly attempted to flee before he was detained. He was ordered released without bail by a judge.
On Aug. 23, for the third time last month, Donnelly was arrested for felony riot, resisting arrest, and interfering with a peace officer. His bail was set at $5,000. Like before, he was quickly bailed out.
Then a week later on Aug. 30, he was arrested a fourth time for disorderly conduct, and interfering with a peace officer. Donnelly was transferred to federal authorities on Sept. 2 for his first appearance in federal court.
According to Lt. Ray Brady of the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement was in the area looking for a homicide suspect, and that the 48-year-old Reinoehl was seen exiting an apartment and entering a vehicle, according to the New York Times.
"As they attempted to apprehend him, there was gunfire," said Brady.
According to the Associated Press, Reinoehl pulled a gun during the incident, after a federal task force from the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service located Reinoehl.
Comment: From the video footage of the incident it seems highly unlikely that Reinoehl or his friend were about to be stabbed by Aaron "Jay" Danielson. It seems clear that Reinoehl approached Danielson and his friend (not the other way around) and was specifically looking for Trump supporters to kill or maim.
UPDATE: So Reinoehl fled Oregon, most likely in a futile effort to evade arrest. He apparently was armed with an assault rifle when arrested, and shot at the SUVs nearby. Witnesses say they heard 40 to 50 shots fired. However, law enforcement has not confirmed wither Reinoehl actually fired any shots.
Tucker Carlson spoke with the man who was with Aaron Danielson when he was murdered by Reinoehl. Needless to say, he categorically refutes Reinoehl's claim that he shot Danielson out of self-defense to "protect a friend of color".
