Vegan activists terrorizing small butchers, threatening to petrol bomb shops

© Marios Lolos / Global Look Press
Chief executive of Countryside Alliance says that attacks on butchers, markets, and even abattoirs are on the rise. "They usually attack small independent businesses rather than taking on the big boys – it's quite cowardly."
Staff of a family-run butcher shop are living in fear after receiving death threats from vegan activists. In a less violent approach others have also targeted the shop by leaving negative reviews on social media.

Activists spray painted 'Stop Killing Animals. Go vegan' and the logo of the Animal Liberation Front across the front of Marlow Butchers in Kent. The business has received dozens of threats, including one message that said the shop would be petrol bombed, along with slightly less sinister one-star reviews on Facebook.

It is unclear why this business in particular has been targeted.

Comment: Interesting that vegans who decry violence against animals, have no qualms about its use against humans. Perhaps the very serious cognitive deficits that result from vegan diets can be blamed? More on vegan terrorism:

Crimean officials propose granting visa-free entry to foreigners seeking treatment in Russian medical institutions, including famous Crimean resorts, suggesting that the measure would help to "break the sanctions regime."

The proposal was detailed by an aide to the head of the Crimean Republic, Sergey Strelbitsky, as he spoke at the Zdravnitsa (Health Source) conference that has recently taken place in Kislovodsk - Russia's major spa location in the North Caucasus.

Strelbitsky told forum participants that Crimean government considered it reasonable to grant 30-day visa free stay for people who arrive in Russia for medical treatment in local clinics and resorts. Foreigners who want to spend more time in Russian medical institutions could get a special 6-month visa through a sped up and simplified procedure.

Thousands of Albanian protesters demand resignation of PM Rama over alleged links to organized crime and trafficking

protests Albania organized crime

Angry protesters in the Albanian capital Tirana marched along the city’s Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard on Saturday chanting “Rama go.” Some hurled stones at the premier’s office building and the interior ministry.
Thousands of protesters marched in the streets earlier to day demanding the resignation of Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, over alleged links to organized crime.

Albania is a NATO member and is presently looking forward to upcoming talks on its next phase of European integration. The protests come about a month before talks are set to resume on that topic.

This isn't the first time Rama has fielded mass protests which seek his removal, last year saw multiple such events take place.

Additionally, Albania isn't alone in facing public wrath and demands for a new government, as some of its neighbors have also experienced the same, also on corruption and links to crime organizations.

Comment: Edi and his government probably do have shady criminal connections, but anyone who thinks the protests are a purely home-gown movement is fooling themselves. The Empire has larger geopolitical considerations.

Disturbing bodycam footage shows the fatal shooting of an unarmed and naked black man, who seemed to be "mentally unstable," by a Richmond, Virginia police officer. The incident is currently being investigated.

On Friday, Richmond city police published the body camera video showing how an officer used a stun gun and then "lethal force" against 24-year-old Marcus-David Peters. Chief Alfred Durham said that the video was released to provide transparency in relation to the incident that occurred last week.

Here comes hell again: Israel launches air strikes on Gaza after "barrage of mortar shells" fired at Israel; Netanyahu says retaliation imminent

Israeli reserve forces entering the Gaza Strip.
With the financial crisis back front and center in Europe, Israel picked a good day to remind markets that geopolitics remains as much of a gaping risk factor as ever, and after Palestinian militants on Tuesday launched what Reuters described as their heaviest mortar bomb barrage against Israel since the 2014 Gaza war, Israeli aircraft retaliated striking more than 30 Gaza camps according to AFP.

More than 25 projectiles were launched from the Gaza Strip and Israel's planes attacked three of the Iranian-backed armed group's facilities. There were no immediate reports of casualties from either side, with Israel claiming that the Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted the majority of the missiles, but one exploded in the yard of a kindergarten, damaging its walls, about an hour before it was scheduled to open for the day.

"The IDF is currently operating in the Gaza Strip. The explosions heard are related to this activity," the Israeli forces said in a statement released on Twitter. "A barrage" of at least 28 mortar shells was launched towards several locations in Israel, according to the IDF.

Comment: It looks like Israel is ready for another round of massacres and destruction in Gaza, just in time for the World Cup to take over the attention of the entire world. The same thing happened during the last World Cup with Israel's 'Operation Protective Edge', by the way.

In case you haven't watched it, this is the hell that Israel brings to the people of Gaza:

Trust in self-driving cars in decline following fatal crashes involving Tesla, Uber

Trust in autonomous cars is in decline, a new survey reveals. In the wake of a number of high-profile fatalities, RT looks at some of the most deadly car crashes involving autonomous cars, from Tesla to Uber.

The American Automobile Association (AAA) found 73 percent of drivers surveyed said they would be "too afraid" to ride in a completely autonomous car. In late 2017, only 63 percent said the same. The study shows the biggest increase in fear is among millenials, which is bound to worry tech firms investing billions in the technology.

On January 20, 2016, a Tesla Model S sedan killed Gao Yuning in Handan in China's Hebei province. Yuning was using the car's autopilot function when it crashed into the back of a road-sweeper truck. His family sued Tesla, seeking an admission that the autopilot was faulty.

A quarter of Ukrainian troops under criminal investigation since April 2014 - more than 27,000 criminals cases opened

Ukranian soldiers

5,179 crimes committed by Ukrainian soldiers in 2018 alone.

The military prosecutor's offices of Ukraine have opened more than 27,000 criminal cases against 43,000 Ukrainian servicemen since April 2014, which is about 25 percent of all soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the chief military prosecutor, Anatolii Matios, said Tuesday, as reported by Sputnik.

"Since April 2014, the crime rate among military personnel has increased dramatically and remains consistently high ... During the entire period, military prosecutor's offices registered ... 27,200 criminal offenses and crimes, which were committed by 43,000 military personnel. This is one-fourth of the army," Matios said as broadcast by the 112 Ukraina TV channel.

He added that since the beginning of 2018, servicemen had committed a combined total of 5,179 crimes.

Since 2014, Ukrainian authorities have been carrying out a military operation against the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics in the country's east that refused to recognize the new government in Kiev, which came to power after what they considered to be a coup.

Comment: That's what happens when a pathological government is imposed on the people. A society under pathocratic rule has nowhere to go but down.

Facebook 'apology tour' is anything but charming

Mark Zuckerberg testifies before the House Energy and Commerce Committee in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill April 11, 2018.
Founder and CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg was in Europe last week on what is being dubbed an "apology tour."

This was the first time Zuckerberg set ground on the continent since the Cambridge Analytica scandal broke that compromised the data of about 2.7 million nationals on the continent. This was supposed to be his opportunity to apologize to European lawmakers for allowing the social media platform to be used for malpractice and to dispel some of their concerns about its handling of user information.

Unfortunately, it didn't quite go to plan.

The European Parliament session Tuesday was mired with controversy from the outset. Originally, the testimony in Brussels was arranged as a closed-door meeting with only a select group of policymakers in attendance. This infuriated European lawmakers who insisted on a public hearing similar to the one Zuckerberg had on Capitol Hill six weeks ago. European Parliament President Antonio Tajani eventually acceded and allowed the session to be webstreamed live to the world.
