Republican Gov. Greg Abbott announced Texas will deploy National Guard troops to combat the "crisis" along the southern border.

"Today Texas launched Operation Lone Star to respond to the border crisis," Abbott tweeted Saturday. "It deploys Nat'l Guard + DPS Officers + air, ground, marine, & tactical border security assets to deny Mexican Cartels & smugglers the ability to move drugs & people into Texas."

Operation Lone Star will "combat the smuggling of people and drugs into Texas," which Abbott said is an issue that has been exacerbated by the Biden administration.

"The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden Administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration," said Abbott. "Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans. We will surge the resources and law enforcement personnel needed to confront this crisis."

Americans' trust in the Black Lives Matter movement has fallen and their faith in local law enforcement has risen since protests demanding social justice swept the nation last year, according to an exclusive USA TODAY/Ipsos Poll.

The debate over the intersection of racism and policing will be in the spotlight again as jury selection opens Monday in the Minneapolis trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd, which sparked nationwide marches last year.

The survey finds complicated and shifting views about Chauvin's actions and broader questions of race. On many issues, there is a chasm in the perspective between Black people and white people.

I don't think anyone needs a reminder that social justice is a touchy subject in higher education. As someone who spent three years at my alma mater working under the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, I would know. As someone who also was and still is highly involved in Classical Liberal and Conservative intellectual circles, I was in the odd middle ground of people who didn't care much about taking sides. I just wanted people of all backgrounds to get a quality education.

I certainly saw the need for more diversity on campus whether that was ethnic, cultural, financial, or intellectual. I'm sure we can all agree that that kind of diversity is the spice of life. You should be able to go to college and truly open your mind to the world, whether that be partaking in interesting cultural experiences or learning about the biggest ideas, be it Karl Marx, Aristotle, or Friedrich Hayek. I don't care if you want to party all day at a frat or stage a protest for gender-neutral bathrooms, college should be whatever you want to get out of it.

Without getting into the details, my ideal vision of college is a place where all sorts of people can come and flourish, either intellectually, professionally, or socially. Having diverse groups of people feeling like they belong and can contribute is surely part of this vision. If achieving this goal was what racial justice activism on college campuses was all about, I'm sure we would all be united in support of this vision. The problem, of course, is that it's not.

Georgia fails to produce chain of custody for 404,000 absentee ballots months after contested election

Months after the 2020 election, state and local officials in Georgia have failed to produce chain of custody documents for over 404,000 absentee votes put in drop boxes, according to a damning report by The Georgia Star News.

The report indicates that the state failed to produce chain of custody documentation for an estimated 404,691 absentee vote by mail ballots, which were placed into drop boxes and delivered to county registrars to be counted in the 2020 election.

This means that 67.5% of the states estimated 600,000 absentee vote by mail ballot count was found to not have chain of custody documentation.

It is worth noting that the outcome of the 2020 election in Georgia was decided by less than 12,000 votes, which would be nearly 3% of the 404,000 absentee vote by mail ballots deposited into drop boxes and counted by county registrars.

Comment: Failure to produce seems to be the default for all post-election fraud concerns.

The Biden Administration is turning ICE long-term detention facilities for migrant families into rapid-processing reception and release centers. The re-designated hubs will move migrant families more quickly from the border region into the U.S. interior.

ICE officials told immigration advocates and relief organizations they are ending long-term detention of migrant families, the San Antonio Express-News reported last week. The facilities will be "rebranded" as "reception centers," the ICE officials stated.

The plan by Biden officials is to convert the long-term family detention centers in South Texas into "Ellis Island-style rapid-processing hubs" with a stated goal of releasing migrant families into the U.S. interior within 72 hours, the Washington Post revealed.

Russel Holt, a senior ICE official told staff members in an email reported by the Post that unaccompanied minors and families this year "are expected to be the highest numbers observed in over 20 years."

Holt acknowledged that even with this aggressive catch and release program, ICE facilities still may not be able to keep up with the flow of migrant families and unaccompanied minors. He said hotels will be utilized if processing hubs are filled beyond capacity.

Comment: The Dems have created a ballooning crisis and are scrambling to control it. Bad now? What about tomorrow when the numbers double, triple, quadruple?

Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are not allowed to travel internationally through Israel's airport - they must cross into Jordan and fly from Amman. Israel, however, routinely imposes travel bans on Palestinians, citing 'security reasons' - many do not know they are banned from traveling until they arrive at the crossing. Between 2015 and 2019, Israeli NGO HaMoked filed 797 travel ban appeals, 65 percent of which were lifted. In other words, most bans are completely unjustified.

In September 2019, Amnesty International's West Bank-based campaigner Laith Abu Zeyad was banned by Israel from accompanying his mother for medical treatment in Jerusalem. Israeli authorities subsequently even prevented him from seeing his mother before her death. In October 2019, Laith was also banned from traveling to Jordan to attend his aunt's funeral.

In this piece, Laith reflects on a travel ban based on secret evidence and that can be extended indefinitely - a prisoner in his own land, he dreams of freedom.
I am a prisoner without a cell, a crime, or a conviction. My prison yard extends as far as what is left of my people's lands in occupied Palestine. To go east, to Jordan, which is our only gateway to the rest of the world, there is a single bridge, one I am not allowed to cross. To go west, to other parts of the land stolen from us, and which Israel has made its own, I can only go as far as the nearest militarized checkpoint.

Comment: The angst of confinement without cause, rights or reason, is a normal human reaction unfathomable by psychopaths who control Israel and persecute Palestinians. Cold, heartless, inhumane, it means nothing to them.

Organizers of Newsom recall claim to have enough signatures for special election

The organizers of the recall effort against California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom announced Sunday that they have collected enough signatures to put the special election on the ballot.

At a press conference in Sacramento, organizers claimed they have gathered 1,927,000 signatures in support of the recall, more than a week ahead of the March 17 deadline. Recall organizers said they still plan to try to reach 2 million before that date.

Organizer Orrin Heatlie said in a statement:
"We have cleared another milestone, and now we are entering the final stretch of this part of the official campaign to remove California Governor Gavin Newsom from power and office."
Elections officials still need to verify that 1,497,709 of the signatures are valid and come from registered California voters before the special election can be scheduled.

The popularity of his business is astonishing; in a single month, it ships no less than 20,000 hats, with the top seller the 'classic' red MAGA cap. Trump's fondness of his own version has been the perfect advertising and is one reason why MAGA Mall's annual turnover is in the millions.

Speaking to RT.com, Solomon, 61, doesn't hold back in his praise, saying, "Trump has turned out to be a great president. We're very lucky to have him. He didn't put up with any nonsense to get things done." Despite Trump leaving office, the appetite for MAGA gear is substantial.

The ridiculously contrived gossip session exposed the mendacity of Harry, Meghan and Oprah much more than it did the racism of the royal family. We learned next to nothing, and nobody comes out of it with any credit.

Last night I debased myself, as did millions of others, by watching the much-hyped Oprah Winfrey interview with Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The fact that mindless proles like me tuned in to watch a billionaire interview two millionaires about how hard their life has been is the most absurd thing imaginable. Yet, here we are.

The sit-down in Santa Barbara was billed as a major scoop, as it was the first time that Meghan and Harry have spoken out since their very public spat and split from the royal family.

The British monarchy is the longest-running soap opera in human history, and no doubt many tuned in hoping for some salacious details relating to the royal rift.

The life of new term "Blue Anon" in the online Urban Dictionary was short-lived. After emerging on social media and landing in a spot in the slang-term glossary on Saturday, it was quickly purged. A Google search brings up nothing on the term other than brand name ski gear.

Jack Posobiec pointed out the deletion from Urban Dictionary: "I have never even heard of a word being banned from Urban Dictionary before the banned Blue Anon." A search of the dictionary for the term comes up short.

Comment: So much for the free wheeling lexicon of the latest slang (most of which is not repeatable in polite society) Twitter is still alive with the hashtag though:





UPDATE 07/03/2021: The Streisand Effect has emerged with respect to Blue Anon. The Post Millennial reports:
"Blue Anon" trended to the top of Twitter on Sunday following a successful effort to purge the infant term from the Urban Dictionary and Google. After emerging on social media and landing in a spot in the slang-term glossary on Saturday, it was quickly erased. A Google search now brings up nothing on the term other than brand name ski gear.

However, efforts to remove the term appeared to have backfired, as "Blue Anon" continued to trend the rest of the weekend. This could be a case of the "Streisand Effect," named for Barbra Streisand who in 2003 sued a photographer for publishing an aerial picture of the singer and actor's home as part of a collection of coastal homes to document coastal erosion.

The term "Blue Anon" is a counterpoint to the leftist penchant to classify all conservative conspiracy theories under the heading QAnon, and gives a catch-all to all the wacky leftist theories that float about online.

After the purge of the term, many on Twitter started using it, liberally.



The definition of "Blue Anon" reads as
"[A] loosely organized network for Democrat voters, politicians and media personalities who spread left-wing conspiracy theories."

"Blue Anon adherents fervently believe that right-wing extremists are going to storm Capitol Hill any day now and "remove" lawmakers from office, hence the need for the deployment of thousands of National Guard stationed at the US Capitol."
Tech company censorship of conservatives has been at the center of the national conversation since Twitter, Facebook, and Google suppressed the New York Post's reporting on Hunter Biden and emails found on a his laptop in October. Tech companies have been emboldened by the leftist push to ban, censor, and deplatform ideas, works, and people that they find unpalatable.
