Israel's PR campaign is failing: The more Americans know, the less favorable they become

Fern Oppenheim of the Brand Israel Group

Fern Oppenheim of the Brand Israel Group, from the Times of Israel
The news out of Israel is that a survey by an American Zionist group says that Israeli PR (or hasbara) isn't working, and the more Americans learn about Israel, the less favorably they feel about the country. The Times of Israel describes the data as devastating: "'Devastating' survey shows huge loss of Israel support among Jewish college students."

The study is titled, "Sounding the Alarm: The American-Israeli Relationship." Fern Oppenheim, head of the Brand Israel Group, which produced the survey, "repeatedly used the word 'devastating' — each time without hyperbole." From the Times of Israel:
[T]he gap between Israel-supporters and detractors is widening. The current Israel advocacy programs are not working, and Jewish college students are the leading defectors from Israel support.

'The future of America no longer believe that Israel shares their values'

Mainstream Americans are not starting from a neutral perspective on Israel; rather, they begin with misperceptions and negative assumptions. This creates "fertile ground" for delegitimization, said Oppenheim, who also spoke this week at the prestigious annual Herzliya Conference.

The 2016 segmentation study's data shows that the current campaign of depicting the Israel beyond the conflict — specifically, highlighting high-tech achievements — is not effective. In fact, the more the study participants knew about Israel, the less favorably they felt about the country.

What can I do to help?

We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.

Over the years, many people have asked me, "what can I do to help?" and I never really had a good answer. After five years of consistent writing and thinking, I finally have something concrete to say, but it might not be what you expect. The answer is to work on yourself. Be a better person. It's something I need to do, and it's something all of us can strive for every day of our lives since every one of us is flawed.

It doesn't matter what you do for a living, or what your individual circumstances are, we're all presented with a variety of choices on a consistent basis. We are all constantly faced with the opportunity to be kind, apathetic or downright mean to someone else, and it doesn't matter how small the gesture is, every single act is meaningful. I have become convinced that the choices we make in seemingly minor situations resonate and impact the world. It seems clear to me that if everyone acted even a little bit kinder to their fellow humans the world would improve dramatically.

If we all become better people, we would simply not put up with the rampant violent and unethical behavior coming from politicians/oligarchs and things would eventually change. I believe the rot at the top of society influences the bottom, and vice versa. The best way to break the cycle is for each of us to take responsibility for ourselves and our own minds. At that point, consciousness can truly take a leap forward. Being kind, is in fact, a revolutionary act.

Trying to be a decent, rational and informed adult in a world increasingly filled with madness, childish dialogue and violence is hard enough. Being a parent compounds these challenges significantly. You suddenly become endowed with the truly awesome responsibility of guiding children into adulthood and helping them find their way in the world. In this day and age, accepting this challenge has become increasingly difficult.

New Jersey wants to teach kids how to deal with police

cops
A proposed new bill passed by the New Jersey Assembly requires the state's school districts to teach children how to interact with law enforcement from kindergarten through to grade 12.

"The number of police related shootings around the nation have created a mistrust of police in many communities. This can help rebuild the trust that is essential for law enforcement to work," said the bill's primary sponsor, New Jersey Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver.

The proposed legislation, which has yet to be voted on by the state's Senate, says students must be provided with information on "an individual's responsibilities to comply with a directive from a law enforcement official; and an individual's rights under law in interacting with a law enforcement official."

While proponents of the new measure see it as a way to lower the rates of police shootings and brutality, its critics contend that the bill puts undue responsibility on individuals for their safety during interactions with law enforcement.

Comment: The article below may provide some insight into what the proposed legislation will teach and how to 'enforce' an individual's responsibilities to comply with a directive from a law enforcement official'
It has been said that America's schools are the training ground for future generations. Instead of raising up a generation of freedom fighters, however, we seem to be busy churning out newly minted citizens of the American police state who are being taught the hard way what it means to comply, fear and march in lockstep with the government's dictates.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies accidentally killed a teenager when bullets meant for an aggressive pit bull terrier ricocheted off the ground and hit the boy, according to authorities.

Five deputies were responding to a loud noise complaint at about 3am Thursday morning in Palmdale, California, when the tragic episode unfolded, according to a statement from the department.

After arriving at the apartment complex, homicide investigators say, a pit bull dog "aggressively charged" at the deputies, biting one officer on the leg. Armando Garcia, 17, came from behind the complex and restrained the animal before taking it behind the residence. Garcia was not the dog's owner.

Libya rising

Saif Al Islam Al Ghadafi supporters
Last night June 22, 2017, all over the country of Libya, people took to the streets to show their support for the one man they trust, Saif Al Islam Al Ghadafi. The Libyans know that Saif, like his father, HATES radical Islam, HATES terrorism and will bring the Great Tribes of Libya together to free Libya of the terrorists and bring security and peace back to the Libyan people.

The terrorists currently occupying Libya WITHOUT the support of the Libyan people do this because they are supplied money and weapons by the Khazarian Mafia Zionists (New World Order) who created the false flag used to destroy Libya in 2011. The last thing these Zionists want is for the Libyan people to take their country back. The last thing they want is for a great leader, loved by the Libyan people - another Ghadafi - to lead Libya.

Libya has been the front for the criminal New World Order Globalists to run their arms, money and mercenaries (proxy armies) into countries like Syria. Countries they do not control, countries that they wish to destabilize with false flag revolutions until they can take control and impose their evil agenda.

Police have warned that harsh cuts will leave them unable to deal effectively with terrorism and cybercrime, and struggling to respond to riots like those which swept England in summer 2011, a senior officer has warned.

Chief Constable Dave Thompson, who heads the West Midlands force, has said that unless funding is stabilized, cuts will affect everything from public order to cybercrime.

He warned that British police would be hard-pressed to respond to something on the scale of the 2011 riots at the present time.

"Last year we saw the prison service snap under pressure with riots in Birmingham Prison," Thompson said in a blog on the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) website Friday.

Highway safety study finds car accidents increased by 3 percent in states legalizing recreational use of marijuana

Legalizing marijuana for recreational use has cost three states when it comes to road safety, a new study finds. Collision claims have increased as a result, according to a car insurance-related non-profit.

The non-profit research organisation, Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI), published their findings on their website Thursday. The group, known for publishing insurance loss statistics, says it has found a link between legalized pot and a surge in car accidents.

HLDI gathered data from Colorado, Oregon and Washington, states which have recently legalized marijuana for recreational use.

Colorado registered 14 percent more collisions than their neighbor states, Wyoming, Nebraska and Utah. Washington recorded a 6 percent higher rate than Montana and Idaho in terms of collision claims. Oregon's claim rate was 4 percent more than Idaho, Montana and Nevada, according to the HLDI.

Comment: Drugged driving now causes more fatal accidents than drunk driving
A report compiled by the Governors Highway Safety Association and the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, found that prescription and/or illegal drugs were involved in 43 percent of fatal car crashes in 2015, while 37 percent involved illegal amounts of alcohol.

According to the report, marijuana accounted for 35 percent of fatally injured drivers found to have drugs in their system; amphetamines accounted for 9 percent, while more than half were caused by "other drugs.

While the report and most subsequent media articles have homed in on marijuana, let's remember that the majority of the fatal crashes, over 50 percent, involved "other drugs," and that opioids have a higher relative crash risk than marijuana.

UK tower blocks all over UK may be evacuated as residents fear fire risk - UPDATE

Thousands of people are now considering evacuating their homes in tower blocks across the UK after it was found that at least 14 high-rise residential buildings have a similar flammable cladding to that used on Grenfell Tower.

Although the cause of last week's devastating fire was a faulty fridge freezer in one of the flats, the cladding and insulation on the block failed experts' safety tests, according to the Metropolitan Police.

"What we are being told at the moment by the Building Research Establishment is that the cladding and insulation failed all safety tests," Detective Superintendent Fiona McCormack said.

The news came as a number of high-rise buildings were found to be cladded with the same material suspected of having accelerated the blaze on June 14.

According to a Downing Street spokeswoman, however, the 14 blocks in London, Manchester and Plymouth that failed fire-safety assessments are not necessarily at risk.

The government is said to be checking 100 tower blocks per day, looking for the aluminium composite tiles.

A tower block containing 161 households in the London district of Camden is to be evacuated over safety fears concerning cladding on the building in the wake of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
...
Camden Council released a statement Friday evening saying one of the tower blocks in the Chalcots estate will be evacuated over the fire risk.

Georgia Gould of Camden Council said the Taplow block in the estate will be evacuated and residents placed in temporary accommodation.

"Today the London Fire Brigade completed a joint inspection of the blocks with Camden Council technical experts. Together we decided that the Taplow block needs to be temporarily decanted while we undertake urgent fire safety works so that residents can be fully assured of their safety," Gould said.
