U.S. plans nearly $1 billion arms deal with Iraq

The sale is the latest in a series of US weapons deals with Iraq
The United States plans to sell nearly $1 billion worth of warplanes, armored vehicles and surveillance aerostats to Iraq.

The deal includes 24 AT-6C Texan II light-attack aircraft, a turboprop plane manufactured by Beechcraft that has .50 caliber machine guns, advanced avionics and can carry precision-guided bombs, the Pentagon said.

The aircraft and related equipment and services are valued at $790 million.

The Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency informed Congress on Tuesday of the planned sale, which will go ahead unless lawmakers block the deal.

The US Department of Agriculture launches proposal to purchase submachine guns

The following solicitation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture almost defies belief. We've seen this type of bizarre behavior before, but it has mostly originated from the American Gestapo, aka the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). I highlighted this trend early last year in my post: Department of Homeland Security to Purchase 7,000 "Assault Weapons".

Here's a screenshot of the solicitation from the Department of Agriculture:

What is so important to understand about the current war/civil unrest cycle that the world has now entered into is that it will affect different regions and nations differently.

Comment: It is wishful thinking to hope that the "status quo" could ever be tossed aside peacefully. History shows that such changes are consistently bloody, violent, and accompanied by other fun things such as plague, comets, and Earth changes. The good news for those hoping for revolution is that such phenomena are still steadily increasing.
What the USDA, DHS and others are 'prepping' for is not a popular revolution, but a frenzy of starving, disease-ridden masses.

Russia can do business with elected Ukraine leader, Lavrov says, not coup-installed fascist scum

lavrov

Confronted with the unprecedented stupidity of his Western audience, Russia's foreign minister resorts to using his psychic powers to help them see the obvious.
Russia's foreign minister softened his tone toward Ukraine, saying his country "can do business" with any elected president and warning that fighting in the country's east risks undermining a ballot's legitimacy.

Comment: It's difficult to twist the words of a man as skilled in diplomacy as Sergei Lavrov, but Bloomberg tries. "Softening his tone" implies a substantial change in tone. But Lavrov's stance is as clear, rational, and 'hard' as it ever was. Stated in another way: Russia can NOT do business with an illegitimate, coup-installed, neo-Nazi puppet regime. What about that is so hard to understand?

"If there is somebody who emerges as a figure with the support of the majority of Ukrainians, of course it's easier to have such an interlocutor than self-appointed people," Sergei Lavrov, Russia's top diplomat, said today in an interview with Bloomberg Television.

Lavrov said he's well acquainted with the poll-leading candidate for the May 25 election, billionaire Petro Poroshenko, who isn't a "fascist" unlike some members of the current administration who took over after the ouster of Kremlin-backed President Viktor Yanukovych in February. "We can do business with anyone," Lavrov said.

Comment: Here's the complete video of Lavrov's interview:

Kerry announces enormous pay raises for foreign nationals working at Embassy - while Americans go jobless and hungry

Image

Secretary of State John Kerry addressed the staff of the U.S. embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Thursday as part of a seven-day trip through Africa. During his remarks, Kerry recognized the work of the foreign nationals employed by the embassy, and he singled out two nationals who recently received awards for their work in the foreign service. Kerry then used the opportunity to give all the nationals who work for the embassy some welcome news: an enormous pay increase of 42 percent (though during his remarks the secretary misspoke and said 45 percent):
"It means a lot to me that you came in here today, I really mean that, so that I have an opportunity to say thank you to you. But I've also got something special for you. Since it's a holiday, I'm going to make you feel really good. All of the Foreign Service nationals are about to get a 45 [Footnote: 42] percent pay increase. (Cheers and applause.) And I want you to know - (applause) - it's long overdue. You deserve it, and I want to note that the biggest applause of the day was for you getting your money, I don't know. (Laughter.) Go figure. (Laughter.)"
Kerry went on to tell the remaining staff that they would also receive a pay raise, albeit significantly smaller than that being given to the nationals:

Odessa Massacre - What REALLY Happened: VIDEO

Image
Contrary to what the mainstream media has tried to convince you, it's not at all a mystery how the fire started in Odessa, Ukraine and it's not at all a mystery who started it. We owe it to the victims to expose what really happened.

Comment: Since this video was uploaded, new leaked phone conversations have surfaced suggesting it was indeed Kiev behind the Odessa and Mariupol massacres, namely oligarch and governor of Dnepropetrovsk Igor Kolomoisky. U.S.Dept of Agriculture buying unknown amount of submachine guns and high-capacity magazines

Image

The United States Department of Agriculture is probably one of the last federal agencies you'd expect to request a substantial amount, if any, of firearms, but that's precisely what it did last week.

In a solicitation posted on the government's Federal Business Opportunities website on May 7, the Agriculture Department requested an unknown number of submachine guns. The department also states it wants to get its hands on weapons with night sights in the front and the rear and magazines with a 30-round capacity.

The solicitation, which also calls for the submachine guns to be lightweight and feature slings, says:

"The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General, located in Washington, DC, pursuant to the authority of FAR Part 13, has a requirement for the commerical [sic] acquisition of submachine guns, .40 Cal. S&W, ambidextrous safety, semi-automatic or 2 shot burts [sic] trigger group, Tritium night sights for front and rear, rails for attachment of flashlight (front under fore grip) and scope (top rear), stock-collapsilbe [sic] or folding, magazine - 30 rd. capacity, sling, light weight, and oversized trigger guard for gloved operation."

More lies about Ukraine from the New York Times: Primitive prejudice, stupidity and reflexive compliance

Image
© AP/Evan Vucci

However Ukrainians settle their drastic differences - and they can, providing all sides find the will to do so - a large and welcome consequence of this crisis falls to Americans. This is summed up in a single word. Ukraine gives us the gift of revelation.

We Americans are destined to discover who we are in this century, as opposed to who we tell ourselves and others we are. The great dodge of the American century, chiseled in granite with Woodrow Wilson's famous line, "The world must be made safe for democracy," will lose its power to propel. This was a fairly easy call long before the events of the past six months on Russia's southwest border. In Ukraine we start to see how this will occur, what forms it may take, and what we will find when we look.

I did not see this coming, to be honest. It was Victoria Nuland's famous-but-not-to-be-mentioned "'F' the EU" appearance on YouTube in February that turned things. We have since had full-frontal porn of an American subversion op, the ensuing coverup, then the media's supine cooperation in the coverup, then the full-frontal of everybody in the bedroom. Even the coverup is not covered up.

American-sponsored coups have flopped before, goodness knows. The list is long. But this failure takes us further than ever before up the creek that smells, in my view.

At writing, the provisional government in Kiev has reluctantly opened talks on decentralizing the Ukrainian political structure. Hardly was this in Washington's plan, but the Obama administration will nonetheless have considerable influence on the outcome in Ukraine as it backs out the gate it crashed, as I am convinced it will before this is over.

Resistance instead of protest: Forcing and not asking or begging leaders to make better decisions

Image
© Warner Brothers
Resistance is forcing leaders to take different decisions. Protest is asking and begging them to change decisions. Resistance is part of a revolution that wants change, protest is part of a revolt that shows the dissatisfaction of the 99%. Resistance challenges the power, protest appeals to the conscience of leaders.

When a country is occupied by a foreign power protest is senseless. Authorities do not listen to protests and the only way to achieve something is by resistance. In Western democracies protest can have some success but not when it concerns important subjects. When a lot of money (for the 1% and their lackeys) is involved protests fall on deaf ears. The Anti-Nuclear Movement, actions against fracking or against genetically modified food were not very successful. Efforts to restrict the use of cars because it uses too much precious materials and fossil energy are failing. Withdrawing support for regimes that suppress the own population (and the lack of support for freedom movements in those countries) is also nearly without positive result. Human Rights are unimportant when trade agreements are discussed. Money stands first and not the interests of the 99%. Protest actions give maybe some power to action leaders who want to be embedded in the political game but do not change the life of rank and file activists. This is in contradiction to the idea that all people have the same status.

Comment: This blogger is definitely right when he points out that protests no longer, if they ever did, accomplish anything. The question then becomes, if many are seeing the same problems and issues in the world today, how to resist? And how just does one define resistance anyway? What are the actions that one takes? What steps need to be made? And what does one need to know?

In a nutshell:
  • that the devastating wars that are perpetrated by politicians of the U.S. government and its military...
  • that the economic enslavement perpetrated by the banks and financial institutions of this planet...
  • that the health-destroying products and methods of big agro and big pharma...
  • that the administration of modern medicine by corrupt and colluding government organizations...
  • that the out-of-control and brutal nature of today's "policing"...
  • that the insanely Orwellian nature of the modern security state...
  • and that the lies perpetrated around the nature of the catastrophic environmental changes we are seeing, among many other things....
...are all the products, or the by-products, or heavily influenced by: psychopaths. Yes, psychopaths. Snakes in suits. Moral defectives. Humanoids with no conscience or sense of responsibility towards the normal people of the world who just want to live their lives peaceably; without the threat of looming world war, without having to worry about being brutalized by "peace officers", without having to worry if what they eat will unravel their DNA, and the list goes on...

This is literally a multi-pronged war against Humanity. And if we can't see all the many ways that the baddies are arraying against us, an individual is likely to fall prey.

So back to the question - how to resist? The answer is simple. Just arm yourself to the teeth: with Knowledge - especially about psychopaths. Share it with others who also want to know. And don't underestimate it's fire power.

Join the Resistance.

Powerplay and cover-up: Kiev protégé allegedly behind Mariupol and Odessa massacres leaked tapes reveal

Ihor Kolomoisky and Oleg Tsarev
Two leaked tapes have emerged on the internet where Kiev-appointed governor allegedly threatens an ex-presidential candidate who called for a referendum. The official may also be behind the Odessa massacre and Mariupol shootings, the leak adds.

On the first tape, which appeared on May 14, an oligarch and governor of the city of Dnepropetrovsk in southeastern Ukraine, Igor Kolomoisky, allegedly called ex-presidential candidate Oleg Tsarev and started threatening him. He told Tsarev to leave Ukraine immediately, saying it was in connection with the killing of Bogdan Shlemkevich, a soldier from Ukraine's National Guard on May 9 in Mariupol, southeastern Ukraine. He was shot in clashes between anti-government protesters and soldiers sent by Kiev in an 'antiterrorist' operation in eastern Ukraine.

Tsarev, a Dnepropetrovsk businessman and People's Deputy of Ukraine, submitted his candidacy as self-nominee for the presidential election scheduled for May 25. He is standing for federalization of the country as well as for referenda in all parts of Ukraine. He withdrew his presidential candidacy on 29 April in a protest against Kiev.

"We prayed for [Bogdan] Shlemkevich who was killed in Mariupol and they say that Tsarev is guilty," Kolomoisky told the ex-candidate.

The Dnepropetrovsk governor says that now Tsarev and his family will be hunted down and killed.

"They put $1 million for your head, they will go after you everywhere," Kolomoisky told him. "Tomorrow they will look for your people and relatives," said the Ukrainian oligarch.

Comment: A transcript of the conversation can be found below.

Comment: Here is a rough translation of the first leaked tape done by a Sott reader:
Kolomoisky: Hello,
Tsarev: Hello.
Kolomoisky: Where are you? Still there?
Tsarev: Still there.
Kolomoisky: How are you?
Tsarev: Fine.
Kolomoisky: We've got a serious accident. One Jew from Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community died.
Tsarev: What happened?
Kolomoisky: Well, one Jew from Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community died. I am at the synagogue now.
Tsarev: What was he doing there?
Kolomoisky: It doesn't matter what he was doing. They say that your head costs a lot of money now [censored].
Tsarev: Mine?
Kolomoisky: One million dollars. Yours. Yes. They say they will be searching you everywhere. Just wanted to tell you this. I wanted to tell you that you'd better stay in Moscow, do not return.
Tsarev: Let me tell you one thing. In Africa there is such ...
Kolomoisky: Tomorrow they will be catching your people here.
Tsarev: In Africa there is such ... poison...
Kolomoisky: Listen, I don't give a [censored] what is there in Africa. Don't tell me this crap. I'm telling you we've been praying in synagogue before the Shabbat. We've been praying for Shlemkevitch, the Jew who was killed in Mariupol [censored].
Tsarev: So...
Kolomoisky: They say Tsarev is to blame [censored]. And tomorrow they will search for all your relatives first [censored]. Tell them to leave [censored]. Because we will hang them right in the square [censored]... I'm telling you, tell Markov that he shouldn't come here either. To Ukraine, I mean. No way. Hallo.
Tsarev: Don't phone me anymore, Igor.
Kolomoisky: Not to phone you? OK. Bye, Tsarev. That's it.
And here is the translation of the other phone conversation:
Telephone conversation between President of Customs Union Suppliers Association Oleg Noginsky with Ian Borisovich Epstein, the honourable consul of Israel in Ukraine, carried out by the former staff of the SSU (Security service of Ukraine) nowadays calling Integrated CyberMilitia of Donetsk, Lugansk and Kharkov regions. Conversation took place on May 10, 2014 at 11:18 pm.
The statements which publication can lead to undesirable consequences are removed from audio recordings.

Ian: Hallo.
Noginski: Hallo. Ian Borisovich, good evening. I beg your pardon. Happy holiday. Did I wake you up?
Ian: Oh, no. It's not too late. Happy holiday you too. Wish you peace, good health and well-being...
Noginski: Ian Borisovich, I'm calling because of a serious problem, it makes me really concerned.
Ian: What happened?
Noginski: Well, the 9th of May in Mariupol, did you see what happened there? Certain Shelemchak was killed there.
Ian: Who was it?
Noginski: A Jew from Dnipropetrovsk. At least if we can trust Kolomoysky. But what is even worse, Mr. Kolomoysky called Tsarov and told him that broadly speaking that day in all synagogues of Ukraine it was announced to all right Jews that there will be a reward for the head of Tsarov's and Russian separatists. When I heard the word 'synagogue'...
Ian: You don't say so. That can't be. I just know that... Today I went to a synagogue. We were reading prayers. Everything was, so to say...
Noginski: Ian Borisovich, I'm not saying that, surely, it didn't happen in the synagogues... But when he is speaking about it... I don't know whether he was recorded or not. In case his words appear in the media, can you imagine what happens in that case?
Ian: Did Kolomoyskyi say it was Tsarov exactly?
Noginski: Yes. A million ($) for his head. He also said that the next day his family would be hanging. His relatives. Listen, I just repeat his words... You know, Oleg, he is not like anybody else, he never lies. And he sent it to me late in the evening, he was deeply shocked. Another man who was by his side at that moment told me the same.
Ian: Terrible. No, I just can't understand how a Jew... Jews in general, so to say, must not allow themselves anything of the kind... Gave him a personal call?
Noginski: Yes, he likes it. He called Markov (Ukrainian MP (deputy) Igor Markov) recently, told him how he would get burned in case he comes to Odessa. That's kind of his amusement. I'm not sure but I feel like he went crazy, seriously. By the way, that's a totally proved out fact that he paid those guys in Odessa. Totally. And it was done to seat Palytsia as governor. Even at the "Fatherland" (Party of Tymoshenko) headquarters they prove it out... The situation went out of hand. Their task was to beat them up, give them the works so that they all get to the hospital, and the camp was to be totally destroyed.
Ian: Well, you know, there were the guys of Avakov (Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine). They could have done it all.
Noginski: Well, there was an agreement. In case... it all still keeps voiced. There was an agreement. He came up and said, 'Why are you fiddling around that Odessa'? There was that 'Kulikovo Field' all the time, non-stop. 'You better give Odessa to me and it will be just like in Dnipropetrovsk.' So to say, no one will dare to show up. They said, 'OK'.
Ian: He used to come to Odessa. He has already been in Odessa.
Noginski: He is still there. And has been busy during the recent three days with what makes 16 people dead who had been arrested and stayed alive after the 'Trade Unions House'. Two people were put a knife near the building. And so forth.
Ian: Well, Oleg, I just, you know, can't believe that Benya (Kolomoysky nickname) is able to do that.
Noginski: You know, many people here say they feel he went kind of crazy. These days, you know, Korban is actively trying to take Tsarov's property. Well, there's nothing I can add.
Ian: I just don't know him, that's why I cannot say anything. I don't know him.
Noginski: Well, he is a good friend of Benya... And Filatov (first assistant of Kolomoysky) already gives a reward for "moskals" (Russians) and already pays. I just... Ian Borisovich, the thing it that Benya's affairs are up to him. He can do whatever he likes. In case he imagines himself second Hitler... Well, I think there will be a second Nazi Germany on the territory of a small piece of Ukraine. Benya will be a multibillionaire and the owner of this territory. But what Jews in the rest of the world will do... I just think it is necessary to publicly back off from this process right away.
Ian: What do you mean? What process?
Noginski: From Kolomoysky. From Benya.
Ian: Well, how?
Noginski: Just report that in this case the world Jewish community, firstly, has nothing to do with personal position of Mr. Kolomoysky, secondly, a) don't back up neither Odessa, nor Mariupol, nor any other and sincerely sympathize with them. And thirdly, state that in case any of Jews is noticed in Nazi crimes, we will be first to deal with it.
Ian: Thank god, there hasn't been any problem with it lately.
Noginski: The more so because of one man who decided to become a billionaire, a multibillionaire or imagined himself to be an owner of Ukraine...
Ian: No, the matter is that the synagogues are... They should be standing apart from all these things. A synagogue is a place for meeting, it's a prayer place. It should deal with inner life of Jews. That's it. This is so to say what a synagogue is about. So, dealing with so to say politics, dealing with such things and backing up...
Noginski: I mean... You know, I've got such feeling that standing apart is not an option for us.
Ian: Come again.
Noginski: We can't help standing apart. By the way, I asked Oleg not to make it public. His first thought was to make it public.
Ian: No. By doing this he will definitely bring reproach on Jews right away.
Noginski: You don't say so! It will start a huge wave of tension. The more so, it will start all over the world.

Paris Match exposes the hands of fascists in Krasnoarmeysk killings

Andrey Denisonko
© Paris Match
Andrey Denisenko, one of the leaders of the nationalist group Pravy Sektor, seen here entrenched in the town hall at Krasnoarmeysk on Sunday, may 11, talking to the crowd who wants to get in to take part in the referendum.
Members of the Ukrainian ultra-nationalist group Pravy Sektor took part in a commando-style raid against the Donbass referendum last Sunday, killing two unarmed civilians in the town of Krasnoarmeysk, an investigation by Paris Match has found.

Rumours had spread among separatists for several weeks about radical Pravy Sektor (or « Right Sector ») militants hiding amid government forces loyal to Kiev to perpetrate actions targeting pro-Russian groups in eastern Ukraine. Though a small political force, Pravy Sektor played a significant part in the street fights the lead to the downfall of former president Viktor Yanukovitch during the Maidan Revolution in Kiev last February. Formed as an alliance of tiny far-right groups, the movement is described as « fascist » by the pro-Russian populations of eastern Ukraine, which regularly accuse its militants of stirring trouble by any means. These accusations have been constantly repeated by numerous Russian media close to the Kremlin, and have become an important part of the ferocious disinformation war currently playing out in Ukraine. But they had, till now, essentially not been substantiated, to the point of being poked at as a farce on twitter and the Internet.
