Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice tells Judy Woodruff that she remains "proud" of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, although it has been "tougher than any of us really dreamed.''
Comment: In true fashion of the psychopath who creates her own reality, Rice "simply doesn't see" the violent deaths of millions wrought by Bush and his coterie of miscreants occupying the White House. The pure depravity of those without conscience to create paramoralisms is clear to see in her statement that "it's not so popular to be a suicide bomber", while at the same time coercing jobless youth in a crashing economy into joining a military machine to kill those who don't conform to their world view - and who live to kill again and again. Immoral. Disgusting. Repugnant.
An Afghan governor Monday said at least seven civilians have been killed in air strikes by the coalition troops against Taliban in a western Afghan province. The strike was carried out in Khashrod district of Afghanistan's western Nimroz province on Sunday.
American authorities will be able to obtain greater access to private information such as credit card transactions, internet browsing habits and travel histories of people in Britain under a deal being finalised by European Union officials.
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." - Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Treasury Secretary Albert Gallatin (1802)
Oil futures shot above $140 Thursday after OPEC's president said oil prices could rise well above $150 a barrel this year and Libya said it may cut oil production.
Light, sweet crude for August delivery rose as high as $140.05 in afternoon trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange before retreating slightly to trade up $5 at $139.55.
The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency said Iran could create a nuclear weapon in six months.
IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei spoke on Al-Arabiya television on June 20, discussing Iran's nuclear program, and the potential for the Middle Eastern country to produce a nuclear weapon.
"If Iran wants to turn to the production of nuclear weapons, it must leave the NPT, expel the IAEA inspectors, and then it would need at least, considering the number of centrifuges and the quantity of uranium Iran has...It would need at least six months to one year," ElBaradei said.
Mossad director's tenure has been extended for another year so that he could prepare for an attack on Iran, Israeli military sources say.
Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert has decided to keep Meir Dagan behind his desk at Mossad until the end of 2009 so he could take the necessary measures for a possible unilateral military action against Iran, DEBKA website which is close to Israeli intelligence agency quoted the sources as saying.
Israel's intelligence and military brass generally serve for four years, with a traditional one-year extension. Dagan's tenure was last extended by a year in 2007. He is now due to step down in 2009.
The 61-year-old external intelligence chief has played the key role in the main Israeli operations over the past six years, including on a Syrian facility last September, the sources said.
Bush is a Psychopath I
What Does that Tell Us About Us?
It is true that many of our leaders and CEOs could be labeled as psychopaths or having many psychopathic tendencies. Bush does seem to be one of those psychopaths.
Psychology as we know is not an exact science. But the hard sciences don't seem to be so exact anymore. As we study quantum physics we see matter not behaving in exact ways as we used to believe from a Newtonian perspective. The Quantum world also points to consciousness interacting with matter in ways that would never have been expected.
I worked in a mental health facility and had to diagnose with the DSM, it can be helpful, but it always seemed a bit of a mislead. Many patients would have several diagnosis from different therapists. Some of the diagnosis seemed close to the mark and then others seemed off. I really didn't like having to label people (put them into a box that didn't fully describe them) but it is mainly done for insurance and government reimbursement. As school counselor, I try not to label in my head any of the children that I work with. After awhile they flower, and if I were to label them initially and treat them as a disease or a problem then I am sure the results would be somewhat different.
THERE are crazy days in every campaign and one of them just struck the 2008 US presidential election trail. Barack Obama's campaign spent Wednesday dealing with a small crisis after the politico.com website reported that two overzealous volunteers asked two young women in Muslim headscarves to move out of camera-shot at a Detroit rally.
Comment: While Michelle Obama could definitely use a better role-model than Laura Bush, the obviously fraudulent claim about Barack Obama by what appear to be a pair of psychopaths is what we find interesting here.
Given that homosexuality is a "sensitive" issue with the US voting public (for some idiotic reason), if multiple allegations about such activity were made even by such obvious con-artists, it could cause Obama some problems on the campaign trail. Such mud-slinging smear tactics are a favourite of the neocon "dirty tricks" brigade...
just look at Karl Rove, for example.

Why attack Iran's nuclear facilities when striking their oil infrastructure would be much more effective in the scope of a US-led preventive war? Sure, oil prices might skyrocket and the world economy might collapse. But, hey, that's the price you pay for security.
Such a scenario is not a nightmare or an outtake from a remake of Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove," but part of a serious recommendation made by two neoconservatives in case sanctions fail to persuade Iran to abandon its enrichment of uranium, a process that can be used to make nuclear weapons or fuel for peaceful energy production.
