Reports that US agreed to tariff rollback on Chinese goods drives markets to record-high - UPDATE: Trump trade advisor says no deal yet

Reports that the US has agreed to a rollback of tariffs on Chinese goods if 'phase one' of the long-awaited trade deal is sealed have sent markets to a record high.

A US official has confirmed the arrangement to roll back tariffs, Bloomberg reported on Thursday afternoon.

The Dow Jones gained 246.34 points, with companies like Caterpillar and Boeing up at least 1.2 percent. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 added 17.27 points, rising to 3,094.05. Energy stocks jumped 1.1 percent.

US President Donald Trump tweeted that the stock market was "up big" on Thursday morning. "A New Record. Enjoy!" he wrote.

Comment: UPDATE Nov 8 from RT: US trade adviser Peter Navarro has put a damper on the news, insisting Trump has yet to formally approve the deal and that the Chinese were 'negotiating in public to push for an outcome favorable to Beijing':

"There is no agreement at this time to remove any of the existing tariffs as a condition of the phase one deal, and the only person who can make that decision is President Donald J. Trump and it's as simple as that," Navarro said in an appearance on 'Lou Dobbs Tonight.'

Navarro, however, rejected the Chinese statement outright, insisting it was "propaganda" designed to "push" Washington toward an outcome favorable to Beijing. [..]

Behind the scenes, the White House trade adviser has reportedly fought the prospective agreement tooth-and-nail, objecting to the removal of certain provisions on intellectual property that featured in earlier versions of the deal. According to a former administration official, however, Navarro's efforts have so far been unsuccessful, telling CNBC that the adviser was "alone on this one."

Russia and Turkey head out on joint patrols in Kurdish areas in northern Syria

Moscow and Ankara have been conducting joint patrols in the Kurdish-populated towns of Syria as part of the deal struck between presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan last month.

The Russian military police and Turkish troops moved out of the town of Qamishli on Friday and turned eastward, covering 100km along the Turkish-Syrian border and visiting several large towns.

Chinese medium-range missiles are confined within the country's borders, a senior Foreign Ministry official said, warning the US against deploying its forces to Beijing's doorstep.

"Our missiles are stationed on our territory. They don't pose a threat to the US - at least, if the US doesn't deploy their ships too close to our territory," head of the Arms Control Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Fu Cong said on Friday.

Speaking at an arms control event in Moscow, Fu stressed that deploying American missiles in the region would be a "provocative, destabilizing act."

The US talks about placing their intermediate-range missiles close to China, near our doorstep. It would immediately pose a threat to our crucial launching pads and sites. It would be a threat to the survival of Chinese nuclear forces.

France's Former Foreign Minister, Roland Dumas, has stated in a televised program on LCP that UK government officials not only told him about preparations for war in Syria two years prior to the start of the fake revolution there in 2011, and the subsequent 'civil war' conducted by Western intelligence agencies that has killed up to 300,000 civilians to date, they also tried to enlist him to support their evil cause.

The reason Dumas gives for this war is that Syria is perceived by Israel to be a regional competitor and thus became a target for Western-backed 'régime change', however that is not what motivates the US and UK elites to remove Assad - they want him out in order to break the alliance of Hezbollah (Lebanon) - Syria - Iran (and now Russia).

What an absolute failure Jeff Sessions was as Attorney General. His oath required that he uphold the Constitution but this was never his intent. Evidence now shows that on Sessions' first day in office he was committed to recusing himself as President Trump's Attorney General and handing over the Department of Justice to the crooks in the Deep State.

The former Senator from Alabama, Jeff Sessions was sworn in as President Trump's Attorney General on February 9, 2017. His first real day of work was a few days later on Monday, February 12, 2017. Sessions was hardly a day in office before President Trump was set up in the Oval Office by the corrupt FBI Director James Comey on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2017.

Crooked Comey met the President in the Oval Office. He did not tell the President that he was under investigation for the fake made-up crime of 'colluding with Russia'. But the President was under investigation and Comey was the investigator. As soon as Comey left his meeting that Valentine's Day, he ran to his laptop to record his conversation with the President. It was a set up and the Head of the FBI was acting as an investigative FBI official, something never done before or since in US history.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointed corrupt liberal judge with an angry disposition towards Americans who think differently than Obama, continues to put her own distorted interpretation of US law ahead of the US Constitution. This time with Trump ally Roger Stone.

In February 2019 we reported that the judge's actions with Paul Manafort alone are ample cause for her to be removed or impeached. It looked then like she would kill Manafort before she is brought to justice!

We reported months ago and again in May 2018, that Obama appointed liberal activist Judge, Amy Berman Jackson, was assigned to the most important court case in US history, the Manafort case in the Trump-Russia fake investigation.

Russia will continue to increase defense potential, but is ready for disarmament, Putin said.

"Our army and navy have proven their readiness, and we intend to increase their defense potential by putting into service hypersonic, laser, and other weapon systems that other countries do not yet have," Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with senior officials and prosecutors.

Russian President stressed that, however, for Russia:

"This is no reason to threaten others. On the contrary, we are ready to do everything that is up to us to encourage the disarmament process, also taking into account our latest weapon systems, whose mission is only to ensure security in light of the growing threats against us.

"This year the number of military exercises has increased by 25%. It is important to continue to raise the level of professional preparation of officers and soldiers, to reinforce discipline and morale in the Army. This represents a guarantee of the combat capability of the Armed Forces."

SDF and US-led coalition resume the fight against Daesh

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday that they had resumed cooperation with the US-led international coalition against the Daesh terrorist group in northeast Syria. Mazloum Abdi, the SDF commander, wrote on Twitter:

"As a result of a series of meetings with leaders of the coalition, SDF resumes working with the coalition to combat IS [Daesh] and protect the infrastructure of northeastern Syria, in accordance with the current stage and the last developments on the ground."

Since 2014, the US-led international coalition has been conducting military operations against the Daesh terror group in Syria, without the government's consent.

On 9 October, US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of US troops from northeast Syria after holding telephone talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who promptly launched an offensive against Kurdish militia groups and the Daesh in the region.

On 17 October, the United States and Turkey agreed to a 120-hour ceasefire in the area to allow the withdrawal of the Kurdish fighters.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the United States was conducting joint patrols with Kurdish militants in the security zone in northern Syria, which contradicts the US-Turkish arrangements on Kurdish forces' withdrawal.

"Today, we started our second joint patrol as part of the agreement with Russia. Unfortunately, the United States is holding separate patrols with the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) terrorist group. However, they were expected to leave! How will the United States explain this? There is no such a thing in our agreement."

The situation is extremely volatile, given the sheer number of intricate alliances between the warring parties.

Hadi and Zubaidi to implement a peace deal to stabilize Yemen in the wake of secession threats

The internationally recognized Yemeni government, led by President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, and the Southern Transitional Council (STC), headed by Aidarus Zubaidi, agreed to implement a peace deal recently reached in Riyadh, media reported.

The two leaders held a meeting on Thursday. During it, the president noted the "importance of making steps toward the implementation of all details of the Riyadh agreement to stabilize the situation in the south of the country", Al Arabiya reported.

Zubaidi, in his turn, noted the STC's readiness to support Hadi and work together with the government for the peace deal implementation. Hadi also expressed his willingness to settle the situation in southern Yemen as soon as possible through comprehensive peace dialogue. The two sides signed a peace deal in the Saudi capital on Tuesday. The STC was created in 2017 and Zubaidi, the former governor of Aden, became its chief.

The separatist forces have been allied with the government in their fight against the Houthi rebel movement. However, they engaged in a conflict with the authorities in August, making Aden and other southern provinces a scene of violent clashes.

Good grief, it was always inferred that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff had assembled a 'star chamber' proceeding in the HPSCI basement, but after actually reading the transcript of former U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch to Schiff's assembly the bloom is officially off the ruse.

Start by remembering: after the 2018 mid-terms, in preparation for the "impeachment" strategy, HPSCI Chairman Adam Schiff and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler hired Lawfare group members to become House committee staff.

Chairman Schiff hired former SDNY U.S. Attorney Daniel Goldman (link), and Chairman Nadler hired Obama Administration lawyer Norm Eisen and criminal defense attorney Barry Berke (link). House Speaker Nancy Pelosi then hired Douglas Letter as House General Counsel - all are within the Lawfare network.

Why is that important? Because hired Lawfare contractor Daniel Goldman was the inquisitor for the "deposition" of Ms. Yovanovitch. There are no Democrat politicians present other than Chairman Adam Schiff; it's all staff. This deposition is a political ruse.
