Big Brother gets even bigger: Moscow to create database with residents' salaries, vehicle information & even school results

Moscow has revealed a plan to spend $2.4 million on a giant database containing information about every single city resident, including passport numbers, insurance policies, salaries, car registrations - and even their pets.

It will also include work and tax details, school grades, and data from their 'Troika' care - Moscow's unified transport payment system, used on the metro, busses and trains.

The new proposal will undoubtedly increase fears about ever-growing surveillance in the Russian capital, where the number of facial recognition cameras has recently been increased.

Comment: All over the planet we're seeing an encroaching surveillance state and already there are alarming examples of it being used unjustly against citizens:

Twitter's hypocritical censorship: 'Misinformation' on Western Covid vaccines banned, falsehoods about Russia's Sputnik V permitted

Twitter has censored numerous users, including Iran's Supreme Leader, for criticism of Western Covid-19 vaccines, but "respectable" Western journalists can spread misinformation and distrust in Russia's Sputnik V with impunity.

The American social media giant announced in December that its censorship would expand to include coverage of Covid-19 vaccines as "vaccine misinformation presents a significant and growing public health challenge - and we all have a role to play."

As always, altruistic and moral arguments for imposing suppression of information increase support from the public. Ending harmful misinformation about vaccines is a common interest that everyone can get behind. However, once there is acceptance for the blue pencil - society inevitably transforms itself.

Sheldon Adelson, billionaire Las Vegas casino magnate, ardent Zionist, dead at 87

Sheldon Adelson

Sheldon Adelson
Sheldon Adelson — the billionaire casino magnate and Republican megadonor who wielded his fortune to influence politics in the US and abroad — is dead. He was 87.

Adelson died Monday night from complications related to treatment he was receiving for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, according to Las Vegas Sands, the casino giant he founded and led as chairman and CEO.

Adelson had taken medical leave from the company on Thursday to resume treatment for the disease, a form of cancer that he had fought for two years.

Comment: Liberals wasted no time to begin dancing on Adelson's grave:
Adelson and his wife were two of the Republican Party's biggest supporters. They were also known for giving tens of millions to President Donald Trump's campaigns, dropping $75 million on his reelection bid alone.

It was this support of conservative causes that had some celebrating Adelson's death while others mourned on social media.

"Sheldon Adelson has died. The world will be a safer place without his racist hatred and funding of white supremacy," one Twitter activist wrote.

Thankful that Sheldon Adelson lived long enough to see his beloved Trump become the first one-term president in 30 years and leave the Republican Party in shambles on his way out of office. $75 million well spent, sir.

Even the fact that Adelson famously paid his employees salaries and benefits during the Covid-19 pandemic was not enough for many to overlook his politics.
That's a good thing but it doesn't wash away the harm he did during his lifetime.

Adelson spent millions on preserving holocaust museums and creating Jewish schools but The Atlantic has decided to run with this on the morning of his death. https://t.co/dm3GCr7sPv

Conservatives, however, have publicly mourned the passing of the mogul.

Donald Trump Jr. called him "a true American patriot" in a tweet.
Sheldon was a true American patriot and a giant among men. He treated his employees like family. His philanthropic generosity changed countless lives. The US-Israel relationship is stronger today because of him. My heart goes out to the Adelson family. https://t.co/AjZHPVsD1e

Adelson, who was Jewish, also made waves through his support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said the businessman and philanthropist "will be remembered forever" thanks to his actions to "strengthen Israel's position in the US."
Adelson had the bucks to be an arch-meddler in U.S. politics and beyond. And meddle he did:

Craven News Network (CNN) will NOT carry Trump's speech live from Texas, calls on 'responsible networks' to CENSOR president

With President Donald Trump expected to make a public address in Texas, CNN has vowed not to air the president's speech live and in full, and called on other "responsible networks" to skip the appearance.

After a tumultuous week that saw Trump accused of sedition over last Wednesday's riot on Capitol Hill, then threatened with impeachment and excommunicated from social media, the president ventured outside the White House on Tuesday en route to Alamo, Texas.

Ostensibly traveling to Alamo to visit a section of border wall, Trump will likely deliver a lengthy speech, his first since a pre-recorded message last week condemning his supporters who broke the law at the Capitol.

Comment: For those interested, RSBN will carry Trump's speech here. That is, if the tech overlords permit it:

Google/YouTube axed RSBNetwork live-streaming just before Trump election, censored views without cause

'Behave as if you have the virus, the next weeks will be the worst' - UK government's latest fearmongering

A nurse puts up a sign outside the Millennium Point Vaccination Centre in Birmingham, Britain, January 11, 2021.
The next few weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic will be the worst as the new highly infectious variants of the virus rampage across the country, the British government's chief medical adviser said on Monday.

"The next few weeks are going to be the worst weeks of this pandemic in terms of numbers into the NHS (National Health Service)," Chris Whitty told BBC TV. "What we need to do before the vaccines have had their effect, because it will take several weeks before that happens, we need to really double down."

Comment: RT reports:
UK govt minister urges against socializing

Around 15 million people in Britain will have been offered Covid-19 vaccines by the middle of February, minister Nadhim Zahawi said on Monday, urging citizens to behave as if they already have the virus to stop the spread.

One wonders how many will take up the offer, because in France the roll out has stalled due to concerns: French govt announces 'delay' to mass vaccination campaign after just 516 people get one in first week

Zahawi, who is responsible for the vaccination programme, said vaccinations in the country "are really beginning to ramp up", with 200,000 jabs a day currently being offered. "In the top four categories in the UK, there are 15 million people. In England [alone], it's about 12 million people, so we would have offered a vaccination to all those people [by mid-February] to make sure we can protect them," Zahawi told Sky News.

The government still hopes a return to some degree of normality by spring is possible, but to reach the vaccination target, it needs to deliver some two million inoculations a week. Zahawi acknowledged that "this is an enormous rollout of the largest vaccination programme in the history of this country."

No return to normality can be expected because the WHO have already hinted that the manufactured crisis will be ongoing for at least another year. Moreover, the data suggests that this unprecedented vaccination campaign using highly experimental and poorly tested vaccines could actually make the situation unimaginably worse: COVID Mass Vaccination Experiment: Prepare For The Worst With This Health Protocol

Seven mass vaccination centres will be opened in England on Monday, with every adult being able to receive a vaccine within a 10-mile radius, according to the minister.

Zahawi is also concerned about the spread of coronavirus in supermarkets, with many people breaching the rules by not wearing masks.

"This virus loves social interaction, and the worst thing we can do is to socialise," he said, after reports claimed ministers were considering tougher lockdown rules.

"We don't want to go any tougher, because this is [already] a pretty tough lockdown. What we need is people to behave as if they have got the virus."

Ordering people to behave as if they have a virus when they do not will quite obviously have a detrimental psychological and physiological impact on many people, that some would even consider saying it reveals just how warped some in government are; and it's a wonder why professionals in those fields aren't up in arms decrying the governments pathological demands.

Note also that citizens have no say in whether the government goes 'tougher', the government make the decisions and there's no room for discussion, or, god forbid, a vote, people will take what they're given and do as they're told. That's how democracy works in the new normal.

Coronavirus cases surpassed 90 million worldwide on Monday, a Reuters tally shows, and the UK, which crossed the line with three million cases last Friday, remains the worst-affected European country.

Mass PCR tests that are provably faulty is creating the illusion of mass infection when, if we look to China, that isn't counting people displaying no symptoms - i.e. healthy people - in its tally, it's highly likely that, were the UK to do the same, the total would be significantly lower: China detects just 103 new coronavirus cases in city of 11 million, enforces local restrictions

Mask up outdoors too, says Welsh health minister

Vaughan Gething told a press conference on Monday afternoon that people in Wales should endeavour to stay at home as much as possible and to remember that, "If we do have to go out, to wear a face mask when we're in public places."

The new guidance goes further than the advice given by the UK government, which makes no such suggestions for face coverings outdoors.

"Vaccination is life-saving and, in this pandemic, it could be life-changing for all of us. This is a race against the virus to save as many lives as possible," Gething added.

Gething is either ignorant or being willfully deceptive because there's no sign of any excess mortality caused by the coronavirus: NHS director admits coronavirus data inaccurate as patients are in hospital for OTHER issues

"As we speed up the rollout of vaccines across Wales, it's more important than ever that we follow the rules to keep all of us safe."

Parts of Wales have been among the most heavily impacted by the pandemic, although its national infection rate now sits considerably below that of England.

The health authorities say there have been 468.2 infections registered per 100,000 people in the past seven days in Wales. In England, the figure is 650.9 cases.

Germany wants US, EU to forge 'Marshall Plan for democracy'

'Alliance for Multilateralism

Germany and France have already launched the 'Alliance for Multilateralism' in 2019
After supporters of Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas warned that EU democracy is interlinked with US events. He has called for close cooperation: a "Marshall Plan for democracy."

In the aftermath of the storming of the US Capitol, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas called for a wide-reaching pro-democracy initiative spearheaded by Washington and its EU allies.

"We are ready to work with the United States on a joint Marshall Plan for democracy," Maas told the German news agency DPA on Saturday.

The original Marshall Plan was a US economic campaign launched in 1948 to rebuild 18 war-torn Western European nations. The US-allied West Germany was among the biggest beneficiaries.

On Saturday, Germany's Maas echoed worldwide condemnation of Donald Trump supporters who had breached the US Capitol building while the lawmakers were working to certify election results.

Comment: Expect all kinds of additional Orwellian and Totalitarian political maneuvers to be continuously rolled out "because Trump".

We're already getting a rather large and nasty taste of more things to come...

Turkish televangelist sentenced to 1,075 years for sex crimes, 236 other suspects face charges

Turkish cult leader Adnan Oktar

Turkish cult leader Adnan Oktar
A Turkish court has sentenced a Muslim televangelist who surrounded himself with scantily clad women he called "kittens" to more than 1,000 years in jail for sex crimes.

Adnan Oktar preached creationism and conservative values while women in revealing outfits - many of whom appeared to have had plastic surgery - danced around him to upbeat music in the TV studio.

The bearded 64-year-old was detained in 2018 along with more than 200 other suspects as part of a crackdown on his group by the financial crimes unit of the Istanbul police.

Comment: As noted in a previous article on SOTT, it would appear that there was more to Oktar's business than just his own depravity:
[...] cult members lured young women into taking part in filmed orgies, and then used the recordings to blackmail the participants into obeying Oktar's demands [...]

"concubines," whom he shares with cult members and with guests whom he wants to film in flagrante delicto so that he will have leverage over them.

Bill Gates joins bidding war to buy the world's largest private jet operator one month before he releases his book preaching about climate change

Bill Gates has been accused of hypocrisy after entering a bid to buy the world's largest private jet operator, just one month before he releases a book preaching about climate change.

The Microsoft boss's company Cascade Investment entered the bidding war for Signature Aviation Friday, teaming up with Blackstone Group to make a $4.3 billion play for the British private jet servicing company.

Cascade and Blackstone are now going head-to-head with private equity firm Carlyle, which had already made an initial takeover approach.

Comment: Bill Gates is as much of an expert on climate change as he is on vaccines and world health. The hypocrisy noted above just shows how little the elites actually take this stuff seriously. Just like with Covid lockdowns, the rules are for everyone else, not for Billy and his pals.

Total crackdown: Facebook boots moderate conservative Ron Paul

Former US Congressman Ron Paul
Former US congressman Ron Paul has been mysteriously locked out of his Facebook page and accused of "repeatedly going against our Community Standards." The platform didn't explain which content on Paul's page flipped the switch.

Paul tweeted a screenshot of his official Facebook page on Monday sporting a "You Have Limited Page Functionality" warning screen notifying him that he was "temporarily blocked" from "creating new Pages and managing our existing Pages."
While the warning implied the former Texas congressman had "repeatedly [gone] against our Community Standards," Paul insisted he had never before been given even a notice of violating community standards, let alone a strike or other official reprimand.

Comment: This is not about Ron Paul. It is about absolute control to censor or ban anyone, no reason necessary.
