Lockdown crusader Piers Morgan flew to Antigua for the holidays after telling Britons to cope with 'virtual' Christmas - BoJo also flaunts his own orders

Piers Morgan
'Good Morning Britain' host Piers Morgan has been accused of Tier 4 hypocrisy after confessing that he spent Christmas in the Caribbean, despite lecturing people about the evils of non-essential travel during the Covid-19 crisis.

Morgan, who has used his television platform to champion the government's lockdown measures, and issue scathing rebukes to the 'Covidiots' who violate them, confirmed on Sunday a report that he had traveled to Antigua for the Christmas holiday.

Political gossip site Guido Fawkes revealed last week that, according to an unnamed source, Morgan flew first class to Antigua shortly after urging cabinet ministers on his show to introduce tougher lockdown measures ahead of Christmas. He left the UK just before the government announced tough Tier 4 restrictions, according to the scoop, and enjoyed Christmas at an exclusive resort located on a private island accessible only by boat from Antigua.

As the political site noted, Morgan maintained an uncharacteristic silence on social media over Christmas.

Comment: Boris Johnson himself was caught up in a bit of a scandal after being spotted over 7 miles away from Downing Street biking. Of course the Met Police say that the PM did nothing wrong. But the women who drove 5 miles to go on a hike? They were surrounded by police and fined £200 each. The London police chief is even vowing to step up its enforcement of Covid-19 rules, warning that "those who break the rules or refuse to comply where they should without good reason will find officers moving much more quickly to enforcement action."

Welcome to the new normal, where you will be kept "safe" only if you follow the orders from the State.

Trump says impeachment attempt causing 'tremendous anger' but he wants 'no violence'

trump
Donald Trump has warned that efforts to impeach him are causing "tremendous anger" - but insisted that he wants "no violence" in the run-up to Joe Biden's inauguration.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since last week's deadly riots at the US Capitol, Mr Trump declined to answer questions on whether he would resign.

His remarks came as he left for a trip to the border wall in Texas. "We want absolutely no violence," said the president. "On the impeachment, it's really a continuation of the greatest witch-hunt in the history of politics, it's ridiculous - it's absolutely ridiculous.

"The impeachment is causing tremendous anger... and it's really a terrible thing that they're doing," said Mr Trump.

Civil war heats up - Democrats launch their assault on red state America

Red and Blue States
© Washington Post
The opening salvo against red state America is the article of impeachment against President Trump introduced on January 11 by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democrat Representatives David Cicilline, Ted Lieu, and Jamie Raskin. So much for Biden's promise to "unify the country."

What is the intent of this article of impeachment? It cannot possibly be to remove Trump from office. Trump will have left office before the Senate could vote on impeachment. There is no such thing as impeaching a person who is not in office. Clearly impeachment has nothing to do with getting Trump out of office.

How does it unify the country to follow up an election believed by half of the US voting population to have been stolen with impeaching the president who is regarded as the victim of a stolen election? Adding insult to injury will only further enrage 75 million or more Trump voters, and many honest Democrats, who regard the election as stolen. If the Establishment and its Democrat, Republican, and media allies truly believe the election not to have been stolen, why wasn't the evidence permitted to be examined so that the controversy could be settled instead of ignored? Ignoring the evidence deepens the suspicion as does labeling those who challenged the election "enemies of democracy." Democrats are now trying to censure Republican members of the House and Senate who supported having the evidence presented to Congress. Why censure someone who wants evidence to be examined?

What many Americans and people abroad do not comprehend is that in the 2020 election Trump officially got 74,222,958 votes. This is the official number, which is understated by the 10 million vote suppression used against him. In "losing," Trump's 74,222,958 official votes are more votes than any elected president has ever received with the exception of Biden whose vote count was raised by 10 million fraudulent ballots. How is the country unified by demonizing half of it? Are the Democrats' threats and reprisals against Trump and his supporters unifying?

Deutsche Bank, Signature cut ties with US president, call on Trump to resign

Deutsche Bank has decided not to do more business with Trump, while Signature Bank closes personal accounts, calls for resignation

Deutsche Bank AG and Signature Bank, two of Donald Trump's favored lenders, are pulling away from the billionaire president in the wake of last week's deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The German lender has decided not to conduct any further business with Trump and his company, said two people with knowledge of the matter, asking not to be identified because the deliberations were confidential. Trump owes the Frankfurt-based lender more than $300 million.

Signature Bank, the New York lender that's long catered to his family, is closing two personal accounts in which Trump held about $5.3 million, a spokesperson for the firm said on Monday. It's also calling for the president to step aside before his term officially ends on Jan. 20.

Comment: More insurrection: a bank calling for a president to resign!

Comment: Pretty rich (pun intended) for Deutsche Bank to be clutching its financial pearls considering all the dodgy business it gets up to around the world. But then again, the world's financial system is irredeemably corrupt to begin with.

Bad sign: Obama-era officials with Big Tech ties joining the Biden administration in droves

big tech joe biden administration censorship twitter
Former Obama-era officials with ties to Facebook and Twitter are joining Joe Biden's administration in large numbers as the social media companies censor President Donald Trump.

Trump's official account has been removed from Twitter, and he's also been banned from using his Facebook or Instagram accounts for the time being as a result of the Capitol riot that took place last week.

Emily Horne, who worked for Twitter's global policy communications team, has joined the incoming Biden administration as the National Security Council spokesperson. Prior to working for Twitter, Horne was assistant press secretary and director for strategic communications at the National Security Council under former President Barack Obama.

Facebook bans phrase "Stop the Steal", Amazon suspends donations to pro-Trump lawmakers, GoFundMe removes pro-Trump fundraisers, and more totalitarian nonsense

facebook vote elections propaganda messaging
Facebook is removing all content with the phrase "stop the steal" ahead of President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration on Jan. 20, the company announced on Monday.

Facebook issued a statement saying that it was removing all content with the phrase, used by supporters of President Trump to question the outcome of the 2020 presidential election because it violates the company's policy against "coordinating harm." Facebook said that it made the decision in light of the pro-Trump riot in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Comment: Anniversary tweet:

"We are now removing content containing the phrase 'stop the steal' under our Coordinating Harm policy from Facebook and Instagram," Facebook said in a statement. "We removed the original Stop the Steal group in November and have continued to remove Pages, groups and events that violate any of our policies, including calls for violence."

"We've been allowing robust conversations related to the election outcome and that will continue," the company added. "But with continued attempts to organize events against the outcome of the US presidential election that can lead to violence, and use of the term by those involved in Wednesday's violence in DC, we're taking this additional step in the lead up to the inauguration. It may take some time to scale up our enforcement of this new step but we have already removed a significant number of posts."

Comment: Amazon's PAC is halting donations to Republican lawmakers who challenged swing states' electoral college ballots. Salesforce has blocked the RNC from sending out fundraising emails. GoFundMe has shut down numerous fundraisers used to raise money for traveling to pro-Trump protests. They did so after BuzzFeed agitated for their removal. Deutsche Bank, Trump's lender of choice, has decided to cease doing business with him. Airbnb is canceling reservations and banning guests "associated with hate groups."

IMF calls for credit score to be tied to internet search history and Biden's on board

IMF building
© IMF
In a blog post courtesy of the International Monetary Fund, IMF researchers Arnoud Boot, Peter Hoffmann, Luc Laeven, and Lev Ratnovski called for internet search history to be tied to credit score.

Presenting their findings from a paper they wrote, the researchers argue that by using non-financial data, specifically "the history of online searches and purchases," we can solve the problem of "certain kinds of people not having enough hard data (income, employment time, assets and debts) available."

The authors of the piece claim that this move is a necessary innovation in order to compete with the rise of corporate cryptocurrencies such as the one in development by Facebook, who hope to launch next year. While Facebook is a monopoly that has engaged in political censorship, their power pales in comparison to that of the IMF. The International Monetary Fund is a veritable superpower with ties to the World Bank, and they oversee the entire global economy.

It should go without saying that giving this organization the power to track everyone's search history can lead to some dark ramifications. With private banks, notably JPMorgan and Chase Bank, already kicking conservatives off of their services, one can only imagine how much this would escalate with the IMF tracking everyone's search history. While there has been bipartisan opposition to the Chinese Social Credit system in Congress, the distinctions between that system and what the IMF is pushing for remains ill-defined.

Comment: Biden's commitment to the Great Reset sealed the fate of America for country and constituency - perhaps the prime reason the election steal cannot be challenged and Trump is being vilified.

Democrat Senator Joe Manchin: Push to impeach Trump is 'so ill advised,' votes aren't there to convict

Senator Manchin

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV)
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) told Fox News on Monday evening that the move by House Democrats to impeach President Donald Trump was "ill advised" and that they know that there are not the votes in the U.S. Senate to convict and remove the president.

Manchin made the remarks during an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, who asked Manchin whether there were the votes in the Senate to convict and remove Trump for allegedly inciting a riot that culminated in violence breaking out in the nation's capital last week. He said:
"I don't see any of that, because there will be 48, still 48 Democrats, until we seat Warnock and Senator Ossoff. So, until that happens, you need 67 votes. I think, my arithmetic, that means we have 19 Republicans. I don't see that. And I think the House should know that also. We have been trying to send that message over. They know the votes aren't there. You would think that they would do that."

"I think this is so ill-advised for Joe Biden to be coming in, trying to heal the country, trying to be the president of all the people, when we're going to be so divided and fighting again. Let the judicial system do its job. And then, we're a country of the rule of law. That's the bedrock of who we are.

"Let that take its place. Let the investigations go on. Let the evidence come forth, and then we will go forward from there. There's no rush to do this impeachment now. We can do it later if they think it's necessary."
Manchin's remarks come after he has appeared to be changing his tune on some of the more controversial proposals in the Democrats' agenda, including giving statehood to Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.

Comment: As Pelosi pursues impeachment proceedings with a potential vote on Wednesday, President Trump is fighting back:
President Trump on Tuesday said an effort to impeach him for allegedly inciting last week's Capitol riot is causing "tremendous anger" and that he's not to blame for the violence. The impeachment push is a "continuation of the greatest witch hunt in the history of politics," Trump told reporters on the White House South Lawn as he departed to tour the US-Mexico border.

Trump spoke to reporters again on the tarmac of Joint Base Andrews in Maryland and said he didn't incite the riot. "They've analyzed my speech and my words and my final paragraph, my final sentence. And everybody to the tee thought it was totally appropriate."

[Note: Trump speaks two times in the above video.]

"I think Big Tech has made a terrible mistake and very, very bad for our country. And that's leading others to do the same thing. And it causes a lot of problems and a lot of danger. Big mistake. They shouldn't be doing it. But there's always a counter move when they do that. I've never seen such anger as I see right now and that's a terrible thing, terrible thing. And you have to always avoid violence and we have tremendous support. We have support, probably like nobody's ever seen before. Always have to avoid violence."

New York State Bar Association to consider removing Giuliani as member

Giuliani

Lawyer Rudy Giuliani
The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) said Monday it was launching an inquiry into whether Rudy Giuliani should be removed from its organization.

The group said it was looking at comments President Trump's personal attorney, who has been accused of helping to fuel the mob that attacked the Capitol last week with false conspiracy theories about the presidential election, made just before that incident. The organization said in a statement:
"NYSBA has received hundreds of complaints in recent months about Mr. Giuliani and his baseless efforts on behalf of President Trump to cast doubt on the veracity of the 2020 presidential election and, after the votes were cast, to overturn its legitimate results.

"Based on these complaints, and the statement Mr. Giuliani uttered shortly before the attack on the Capitol, NYSBA President Scott M. Karson has launched an inquiry pursuant to the Association's bylaws to determine whether Mr. Giuliani should be removed from the membership rolls of the Association.

"We do not have the ability to disbar him. Only the state court system can do that in New York State. He would still be able to practice law without NYSBA membership."
