Trying to save face: US changes tone, wants to cooperate with Russia on Syria crisis

In an interview with the Russian-based interstate MIR TV channel, US Secretary of State John Kerry claimed the US seeks multidimensional cooperation with Russia, including both economic development and resolution of ongoing crises in Syria and Ukraine.

Kerry emphasized the important role Russia is playing in resolving the Syrian conflict and stressed the necessity of cooperation with a "major power with very capable air forces" in the interview.

"Of course, we are coordinating and will coordinate with Russia," he said referring to the situation in Syria.

The US secretary of state also admitted that the US "would like to be able to do more with Russia" in Syria, but said that it could be possible only if "Russia really makes a decision... to help settle the political part of the war."

At the same time, Kerry stressed that the Assad regime still remains a problem for the US and its allies, as "Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, other countries and the opposition will not stop fighting Assad."

Comment: Sure seems like the US sees that they've been outmaneuvered by Putin and are now back-pedaling from their original stance to save face since they realize they will never achieve their original goal. Putin has again sent the US back to the drawing board.

Sinai Province jihadist claim 'suicide bombing' killing at least 6 Egyptian policemen, 10 wounded

A suicide bomber rammed his vehicle into a police club in northern Sinai, killing at least six Egyptian policemen and injuring 10 others. An ISIS affiliate has claimed the attack, which comes days after a Russian passenger plane crashed in the region.

In a statement Wednesday, the jihadist group Sinai Province claimed responsibility for the attack in the city of El Arish, describing it as a suicide bombing against the "apostate" police force in retaliation for the arrests of Bedouin women in the region, according to AFP. The group has killed hundreds of Egyptian soldiers and police since the Egyptian army overthrew the Islamist president, Mohamed Mursi, in 2013, following mass protests against his rule.

Comment: Is Egypt having troubles containing and eliminating Islamic State jihadists? Maybe this is part of the reason for Sisi's visit to Britain, to see how the West will help before Egypt turns their eyes to Russia.

Death trafficking: ISIS militants given passage through Odessa to Donbass

ISIL and flag

Faded stars and criminal stripes...
  • Target: the attack on Donetsk with "infiltration" able to paralyze the capital and tip "the scales" to the Kiev junta
  • Goal: general "Islamization" of the civil war in "Independent" [Ukraine] - already becoming a reality
  • Means: Islamist terrorism to Ukraine, supported/controlled by select group of US citizens
With the beginning of operations of the Russian military-space forces in Syria, militants of the "Islamic state" began to leave the combat zone in an organized manner and get transported via Turkey to Ukraine and further to Mariupol. Only in the last two weeks, this traffic amounted to about three thousand people. Its curators are U.S. citizens. Goal — joint "Ukrainian-terrorist" offensive on Donbass and the sweep of people's republics.

Towards a "second front"

Dzhokhar Dudayev battalion, Sheikh Mansura battalion... The names of "volunteer" formations which fought and continue to fight on the side of the Kiev junta against the rebellious Donbass are well-known. It is also known that many of the terrorists who, under various banners fought in the Russian North Caucasus in the 90's and early 2000's, used to come to Crimea for rest and treatment, and many Ukrainian nationalists then fought in Chechnya against Russian troops.

Also known are the facts of cooperation of "Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people" with international terrorist structures: prior to the reunification of Crimea with Russia in the mountainous parts of the peninsula under different signs operated several camps for political and military training for future Islamist militants, some of whom went to fight in the Middle East.

And here's some more food for thought: some time after the coup in February 2014, Kiev authorities, with Turkey's help, began to receive significant volumes of oil from areas controlled by "Islamic state". "Moderators" of this long-standing and mutually beneficial cooperation of Salafis and neo-banderites were certain military-political and financial-economic circles in the US, who actually call the shots.

After the beginning of Russian operation in Syria, new developments emerged: militants of the "Islamic state" and other terrorist organizations professing Salafi ideology massively, in an organized manner, tracked from the Middle East to Ukraine.

The main channel of this logistics connected Turkey and Odessa. Arriving in Ukraine militants then head to the borders of the People's republics of Donbass, mainly to the area of Mariupol, where not only the bases of Sheikh Mansura battalion are located, but where now are pulled formally disbanded, but in fact functioning and equipped with the latest heavy equipment, including tanks T-84U, "Oplot", battalions "Aidar", "Donbass", "Dnepr-1" and others. Thus this creates a powerful "fist" of up to 5-7 thousand people, the core of which will be the fighters of the "Islamic state", having wide experience of warfare in urban areas.

Comment: "Once you let the genie out of the bottle..." There are certainly both the hidden and not-so-hidden hands at work in the ME and now Ukraine. Question: Have ISIS and recent events evolved beyond puppet master control, or are they merely on target from an organized, funded and pre-determined plan?

Russia's Air Forces are striking only confirmed terrorist targets, such as Islamic State militants and are not after the so-called 'moderate' Syrian rebels, Russia's deputy defense minister said, revealing that ISIS employs up to 30,000 foreign extremists.

"The aviation and other [combat] means are deployed exclusively against the terrorist formations on the territory of Syria. There are no strikes being conducted at any other targets, connected to, for example, the forces of the so-called 'moderate' opposition," Defense Ministry deputy head Anatoly Antonov said on Wednesday. Antonov was speaking at the third meeting of the ASEAN countries' defense chiefs and their dialogue partners.

Antonov stressed that Moscow has been making efforts to step up "practical cooperation" with regional and international actors in connection with the Syrian operation.

"A round-the-clock direct communication channel has been established with Turkey. We continue consultations with Israel, Egypt, Persian Gulf states. We have agreed with Jordan on the creation of a working mechanism in Amman to coordinate the actions 'in the sky' over Syria. With our American partners we signed a memorandum on preventing incidents and providing for aviation flights during operation [in Syria]," the Russian official elaborated.

Comment: The West is scrambling to try and save face amid Russia's success so far in Syria. All the US moves to regain control of the Syrian situation are being successfully countered by Russia.

NYPD under fire for involvement in terrorist entrapment case

Civil rights activists are speaking out about revelations that an undercover detective with the New York Police Department "converted" to Islam in order to spy on Muslim students at Brooklyn College over a four-year period.

That work led to the recent arrest of two Queens women allegedly involved in a terrorist bomb plot.

The NYPD has already been under fire for running a demographics unit which conducted blanket surveillance of the Muslim community after 9/11 in New York and New Jersey, despite such activity being in violation of the Constitution.

"The problem has been that the courts who are tasked with determining what is and what is not unconstitutional, illegal - and what is and is not entrapment - have been complicit, and have expanded the prosecutorial and police powers to engage in predatory practices against Muslim communities in particular," human rights attorney Lamis Deek told RT.

"While under law and logic this would be considered entrapment. If you look at the complaint, it is clear this case is entrapment. Unfortunately we are not going to find a court or a judge to do that," Deek added.

Comment: The NYPD is following in the footsteps of the FBI, who has been conducting entrapment operations against Muslims for years. The undercover agents incite impressionable victims to do things they would otherwise have no interest in. That's not real policing, it's creating an enemy, arresting them, and then claiming victory in the war on terror, which is entirely manufactured by the same agents.

Propaganda Alert: ISIS releases video claiming to be responsible for downing Flight A321 in Egypt

Image

A new Islamic State video shows a Russian-speaking jihadist praising his "Sinai brothers" for "taking down" a Russian passenger jet and threatening more attacks, while both Russia and Egypt say the group doesn't possess the means to shoot down a plane.

In the newly-released video, five Islamic State (IS, formely ISIS/ISIL) jihadists are seen sitting outside as one of them praises militants in the Sinai Peninsula for allegedly bringing down the Russian A321 passenger jet with 224 people on board.

Surrounded by four fellow jihadists, a Slavic-looking man speaking both in Russian and Arabic, addresses President Vladimir Putin, warning the Russian leader that he would regret targeting ISIS in Syria.

With a knife in hand, he threatens to continue taking down planes, invading countries, and killing people in retaliation for Russia's military operation in Syria.

Comment: For once we can agree with the US, ISIS is not responsible for crashing Flight A321. It's more likely to have been caused by a natural event than anything man-made: Russian Flight 9268 downed by extreme weather/meteor event?

War mongers: British generals, diplomats outraged at Cameron's retreat over Syria airstrikes

Generals and diplomats are upset that Prime Minister David Cameron will not push for a vote on bombing Syria after failing to convince enough MPs it would have any beneficial effect on the war against Islamic State (formerly ISIS/ISIL).

Cameron has shelved plans for a vote amid fears rebellious Tories would cancel out the few Labour MPs willing to back him.

Had Cameron lost another vote on bombing Syria, after the embarrassing 2013 ballot when he was headed off by then Labour leader Ed Miliband, the PM would have been politically compromised.

Comment: Cameron denies he is scrapping the vote but is merely waiting for the moment he thinks the vote will pass. John Kerry is due to visit British Foreign Secretary Hammond this week. Let's see if that changes anything.

UK has become 1930's Germany: Tightened control of citizenry, constant monitoring for 'subversives', and activists blacklisted

In the 21st century the political scene of most Western countries has been heavily dominated by oligarchs and their obedient puppets who are desperate to corrode the rule of law and radically restrict the personal freedoms of local residents. This process has been significantly aggravated by the tragic events of 9/11 and the severe financial crisis that followed the collapse of Lehmann Brothers in 2008. According to one of the leading advisers to President Obama - Rahm Emanuel "it would be a shame not to take advantage of such a situation."

The notorious Patriot Act has given the US government the right to spy on its citizens, along with extending the privileges that the FBI and other national intelligence services enjoy. It has been widely regarded as a straight-out transformation of so-called "American democracy" into a sort of authoritarian regime in blunt violation of the rights that the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution granted American citizens. Even though the Patriot Act has recently been replaced by the so-called Freedom Act, the outrageous violations of US citizens' human rights continues.

This US example has produced an indelible impression on the politicians of nearly every other Western country that now are beginning to tighten control over their own citizens in turn.

Comment: The average citizen could never imagine being so malicious as to use terrorism as an opportunity to strip away the citizen's rights. And even worse, that those in positions of power would actually create and fund the terrorists themselves. Times have become increasingly dark, and it's important to be aware of the types of individuals who are pursuing these heinous and suicidal aims:
People in positions of power that systematically perpetuate evil behave as if they were a different human species; a 'para-Homo sapiens,' if you will. No matter how much good will there is in the world, there continues to be much war, suffering and injustice. It doesn't seem to matter what plan, ideology, religion, or philosophy great minds come up with, nothing seems to improve our lot. And it has been that way for thousands of years, repeating over and over again. We rationalize evil's existence as being part of "human nature," a necessary part of the complexity of the world, due to perennial greed or lack of enlightenment, triggered by mutually exclusive competing interests, etc.; however, those who subscribe to these principles and attitudes may have rendered a premature judgment and closed the book on evil without examining all evidence from different, previously unexamined points of view.

Ponerology and "successful" psychopathology (i.e. not the "violent serial killer" type, but the Stalin, Pol Pot, Cheney, Rockefeller, Kissinger, Bill Clinton, or Donald Rumsfeld type) clinically explain how "pathocracies" - the system of government created by a small pathological minority that takes control over a society of non-psychopaths - are generated and dominated by those that possess an inborn error (psychopathy) prevalent in 4-6% of the population, which is physiologically unable to feel normal human empathy. They are emotionless, selfish, cold and calculating, and devoid of any moral or ethical standards, yet they are intelligent, charming, driven, focused, and therefore tend to achieve the highest positions of power by concealing their true nature under a "mask of sanity." This concept applies to all existing hierarchical power structures.

China warns US to not threaten its sovereignty in South China Sea

China's Defence Minister Chang Wanquan
China's defense minister has urged the US not to threaten its sovereignty as well as the nation's security interests following last week's incident involving a US naval patrol in the South China Sea.

The concerns were expressed by Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan to US Defense Secretary Ash Carter on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur, where the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) defense chiefs meeting is taking place.

Chang stressed that the US should not pursue any other dangerous actions that threaten China's security interests.

Last Tuesday, the USS Lassen passed through a 12-mile limit around Subi Reef in the Spratly Islands archipelago. The reef is one of seven that China has artificially reinforced to support its claim on the archipelago and the sea around it.

Beijing protested the USS Lassen mission in the South China Sea, accusing the US of escalating tensions in the region.

Comment: The US ought to be concerned with its own backyard and leave the South China Sea to the Chinese. Is the US really so arrogant to think it can take on China and Russia simultaneously?

Inciting terror: Al-CIAda linked group kill 9 and take hostages in Somalia hotel attack

Somali men carry a wounded person to an ambulance outside the Sahafi Hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia Nov. 1, 2015.
At least nine people were killed and 10 injured when Islamic extremists attacked a hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu, a police official said Sunday.

The attack started at dawn when a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle laden with explosives at the gate of the Sahafi Hotel and then gunmen on foot shot at people in the hotel, Capt. Mohamed Hussein said.

"They have killed the owner of the hotel, a former military general, and other officials during the attack," Hussein said by phone frome the scene as gunfire could be heard in the hotel.

"There's a hostage situation inside the hotel," Hussein said.

Al-Shabab, the Islamic extremist rebels waging an insurgency against Somalia's weak U.N.- backed government, claimed responsibility for the attack on a website associated with the group. Fighters from the al-Qaeda linked group infiltrated the hotel after the blast, said the statement.

Somali troops and African Union forces were at the scene of the attack, according to a post on Twitter by the African Union Mission in Somalia, which has deployed troops to bolster Somalia's government against al-Shabab's insurgency.

The hotel is often frequented by Somali government officials and business executives and it has been targeted before. Two French security advisers were abducted from the hotel by militants in 2009.
