Ankara is just a few formalities away from receiving a second batch of Russian-made S-400 air defense systems, Turkey's top official in charge of the military industry said, adding that the first batch have been commissioned.

Ankara and Moscow have reached "an agreement in principle" on the second S-400 delivery, Ismail Demir, head of Turkey's Defense Industries, revealed to news outlet NTV this Monday. Both sides are now concluding talks on "technical issues," including technology transfer and joint production of the famed system.

The Turkish military, which received its first S-400 shipment last year, is proceeding to activate them, despite the Covid-19 epidemic still blighting the country, Demir noted. The works to bring the missile systems online will be completed anyway, he affirmed.
As I've always said, if a system is being bought, it is put to use, full stop.

Unstoppable rise of intel agency favourite Keir Starmer shows how UK 'democracy' really works

Oppossition Labour party leader Keir Starmer
Sir Keir Starmer's links to Britain's national security establishment are being questioned. But in reality they illustrate that normal service has been resumed in UK 'democracy' and that Labour can again be 'trusted' to govern.

The investigative journalist Matt Kennard has written an open letter to the new Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, asking five questions about his relationship to the national security establishment.

They involve meetings Starmer had with the head of the domestic security service, MI5; his membership of the intelligence-linked Trilateral Commission; his discussions with the US attorney general at a time when Starmer was handling the case of Julian Assange; his role in the Assange case as the public prosecutor; and his relationship with the neocon Times newspaper.

The suggestion is clear: Starmer has been very close to that establishment.

Fed prosecutors make official request to talk with Prince Andrew in Epstein investigation

Prince Andrew
Federal prosecutors in New York have formally requested through the British government to speak with Prince Andrew as part of their criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's history of sexual abuse, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The request, made under a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, or MLAT, is similar to a subpoena in this case for Prince Andrew's testimony.

It's a rare move to seek an interview like this through MLAT, officials say, and it's focused on making sure the investigation is as thorough as possible.

U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman foreshadowed the move in March when he said he would consider legal action after Prince Andrew's representatives had closed the door to an interview.

Hamas issues warning to Israel: Plans to annex West Bank areas 'will be doomed to failure'

Palestinian Bedouin homes are seen in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s election eve vow to annex the Jordan Valley if he is re-elected has sparked an angry Arab rebuke and injected the Palestinians into a campaign that had almost entirely ignored them.
In late May, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated the 1 July date set out in the country's newly inaugurated coalition agreement for starting the process of extending sovereignty over parts of the West Bank.

The Palestinian movement Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, has warned Israel against plans to extend sovereignty over areas in the West Bank, including the strategic Jordan Valley.

Hamas's Jerusalem Affairs Office said in a statement on Sunday that "Jerusalem will remain a Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic city and the eternal capital of the Palestinian state, and all powers on this planet will not be able to change its identity, address, and history".

The statement added that "the occupation and its plots against Jerusalem and Palestine will be doomed to failure and its conspiracies will not secure a future for its existence on the Palestinian land".

Federal Reserve is creating hyperinflation like in Zimbabwe, Germany's Weimar Republic

Zimbabwe bank note
While the country was distracted with the Covid-19 lockdown and economic crisis, the Federal Reserve made a huge banking requirement change never before done in history. The Fed cut ". . . reserve requirement ratios to zero percent effective March 26, 2020. This action eliminated reserve requirements for all depository institutions." (Read for yourself here.) What does this profound change mean? Economist John Williams says,
"The system is bankrupt, and they are just spending the money to prevent an immediate collapse as opposed to having it collapse right now. They have cut reserve rates back to 0%. The bailout of the banking system of the 'Great Recession' didn't work. So, now, they are just printing money and bailing out whatever they have to. People have done this throughout history including the Weimar Republic (Germany hyperinflation) and Zimbabwe (also had hyperinflation). . . . We effectively have a Zimbabwe Fed."
So, the Fed is going to print all the money it needs to bail out every bank that needs one? Williams says,
"That's exactly what they said they are going to do, and not only any bank, but any financial institution, the stock market, and with infinite money, you can do all sorts of things. But guess what? You also get a hyperinflation. They have crossed the line. That's why you want to own physical precious metals."

Leading purveyor of 'Russiagate' says George Floyd protests are 'just like US-backed color revolutions'

There is no need to speculate any longer about the odd similarities between 'color revolution' regime change operations overseas and the current protests across the US, when a leading purveyor of 'Russiagate' outright admits it.

What the US is experiencing now is "more like the nonviolent movements that earned broad societal support in places such as Serbia, Ukraine, and Tunisia," the Atlantic's Franklin Foer said on Saturday, in a piece titled 'The Trump Regime Is Beginning to Topple'.

Foer doesn't go into the details of the events in Serbia and Tunisia, and he only brings up Ukraine in the context of the 2013-14 protests that turned violent and resulted in armed militias taking control in Kiev. In his telling, these were all genuine popular movements that overthrew 'dictators', which just so happened to be guided by a 93-page pamphlet written by US political scientist Gene Sharp.

The United States has evidence China is trying to slow down or sabotage the development of a COVID-19 vaccine by Western countries, Republican senator Rick Scott said on Sunday.

"We have got to get this vaccine done. Unfortunately we have evidence that communist China is trying to sabotage us or slow it down," he said during an interview on BBC TV.

"China does not want us ... to do it first, they have decided to be an adversary to Americans and I think to democracy around the world."

Europe needs 'NATO healthcare' to deal with Covid-like crises - German health minister

A kind of "healthcare NATO" would make the EU better prepared for pandemics and would prevent the 27-member bloc from losing out amid the global competition between the US and China, the German health minister said.

The European Union needs "a better mechanism for healthcare crises, just like we found one [to deal with] financial crises," Health Minister Jens Spahn told Germany's Rheinische Post this Sunday.

"The EU [should serve] as the core of an alliance for mutual assistance in case of a pandemic, a sort of healthcare NATO."

Each member state would benefit from that system, Spahn said. All 27 members could source protective equipment from a pan-European stockpile instead of relying on their own national reserves.

Syria: Will the great Middle Eastern war begin in the Levant?

middle east wall
The world is in turmoil. 2020 has already brought major multiple crises, with the Iranian-American clash in Iraq which followed the US assassination of Major General Qassem Soleimani, and the COVID-19 health pandemic and economic disaster that struck all continents and stole the lives of over 400 thousand people around the world, costing tens of millions of jobs. None of this, however, prevented America from imposing even more sanctions on Iran, Syria and Venezuela. Iran - already under maximum sanctions since 1979 - sent five tankers to Venezuela to break the embargo on components and spare parts much needed to process the low octane Venezuelan oil. In parallel with America's implosion due to domestic protests caused by deep-rooted racism and injustice, in the Middle East other fronts are taking shape in the shadows, to prevent war or to trigger a wider military confrontation.

A likely front is the Levant, where preparations are being made to confront Israel and end its continued violations of Syria's sovereignty and bombardment of hundreds of targets in Syria throughout the years of the war. This particular issue may bring the Middle East into an all-out war; one mistake could turn fatal and drag the region into an all-out clash in which Syria will not be alone.

Comment: In all likelihood, yes; Israel will make a strategic mistake that it thinks is a clever move - and will be made to reap the whirlwind it has created. See also:

One-trick pony: Netanyahu says coronavirus won't diminish Israel's determination to stop Iran

IAEA says Iran passed JCPOA enriched uranium limit and denying inspectors access to possible nuclear sites.

Israel will block Iran from attaining nuclear weapons, even while responding to the coronavirus crisis, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the opening of Sunday's cabinet meeting.

He cited an International Atomic Energy Agency report released in recent days that says Iran refused to grant inspectors access to undeclared military nuclear sites.

"Iran systematically violates its commitments by hiding sites, by enriching fissile materials and other violations," Netanyahu said. "Certainly now it is necessary in light of these revelations for the international community to join the US and use crippling sanctions against Iran."
