Puppet Masters
So now the big hedge funds want mercy themselves?
It's not likely to happen.
After sending GameStop, AMC and other beleaguered stocks into the stratosphere, now investors on Reddit are talking about going after a really huge whale.
The silver market is perfectly primed for an epic short squeeze, and a coordinated assault by retail investors could make it happen.
The defense analysis and news site Military.com is reporting that new defense secretary under the Biden administration Lloyd Austin is reviewing the withdrawal of 12,000 US troops from Germany:
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has voiced his commitment to shoring up close ties with NATO ally Germany that were strained under the Trump administration, and suggested that the plan to withdraw 12,000 U.S. troops from the country is open to discussion. The prior Trump plan for to cut nearly one-third of total American military personnel from the country was predictably fought from Congressional corners known for being hawkish on Russia, with even some American and European security officials having called the move a "gift to Putin".
Comment: Trump's former plans have taken a 'left' turn:
Comment: UPDATE 1 Feb 2021
ZeroHedge isn't paying close attention. Retail traders at r/WallStreetBets are NOT recommending that everyone 'go short JPMorgan through silver'. Tim Pool reports on how this silver drive is MSM fake news to draw heat away from the hammering Melvin Capital and Citadel are taking from their exposure to high GameStop and AMC stock prices:
Update (1100ET): For some background on just how unprecedented this weekend's action in silver markets is, Tyler Wall, the CEO of SD Bullion writes the following (emphasis ours):
In the 24 hours proceeding Friday market close, SD Bullion sold nearly 10x the number of silver ounces that we normally would sell in an entire weekend leading to Sunday market open. And, perhaps most importantly, as QTR tweets so succinctly, "this is a red pill moment for many, and it's beautiful."
In a normal market, we normally can find at least one supplier/source willing to sell some ounces over the weekend if we exceed our long position (the number of ounces we predict we will sell over the weekend). However, everyone we talk to is afraid of a gap up at Sunday night market open.
This is about ready to get really interesting as there was very little inventory left from suppliers/mints going into Friday close.
Our direct AP supplier informed us after close on Friday that the "US Mint will be on allocation for the remainder of Type 1" (Current Silver Eagle Design). Our sales for the month of January exceeded any one month last year during the heart of the pandemic. It was an all-time record month in our company history.
President Joe Biden is currently encouraging the purchase of electric vehicles, and that could mean lifting the cap on sales, providing tax credits to buyers, and a potential program incentivizing people to trade in used vehicles to buy an electric one. Biden also announced on Monday that he would be replacing the entire fleet of 645,000 federal vehicles with electric ones.
This could create a conflict of interest, as part of Pelosi's job will include working to pass these environmental and clean energy initiatives — initiatives from which her family now stands to profit handsomely.

A poll worker sorts ballots inside the Maricopa County Election Department in Phoenix, Arizona, on Nov. 5, 2020.
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has balked and manipulated information and the media to prevent a valid audit of the county's 2020 election results. Now the local media outlet ABC15 is assisting them by claiming it is against state law for the county to provide ballots to auditors to review.
It was reported yesterday that the Arizona Senate has requested an audit of the Maricopa County 2020 election results and will select the auditor themselves. You can't blame them. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (MCBOS), who oversee the election process in the county, is doing all they can to prevent a valid audit from being performed in the county.

I don't need to tell you that we are living through world-historical times right now. The frequency of world-changing events is accelerating even as the impact of these events on our day-to-day lives is increasing.
As Lenin rightly observed: "There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen." Perhaps there are years in which centuries happen.
With that in mind, I am taking my annual look at the year ahead and splitting it into three parts.
The first week I looked at the tectonic shifts that are taking place in the global monetary space and considered what these changes portend for the future of the world economy.
Last week I examined the ongoing (generated) COVID crisis and what we can expect as the Era of Biosecurity continues to unfold.
This week I will turn my attention to world geopolitics, analyzing the types of conflicts that we can expect to see over the course of this year and explaining how these conflicts will set the stage for even more dramatic events over the course of the decade.
The federal government envisions 50 "mega" vaccination sites capable of administering 6,000 shots per day, in addition to 50 "large" vaccination sites providing 3,000 shots per day, according to defense officials.
The first of the FEMA-powered vaccination sites are expected to be operating by mid-February, a senior White House official told CBS News, and will scale up as vaccine production intensifies in the coming months.
On Wednesday, Mother Jones and NBC News reported that a top Biden national security aide who is an expert on Russian cyber had given over half a million dollars to AIPAC in recent years through a family foundation. And the aide's husband is on the AIPAC executive council in Baltimore.
AIPAC is of course the leading Israel lobby group, which supports everything the rightwing Israeli government does, from persecuting Palestinians to threatening Iran.
Mother Jones and NBC questioned Anne Neuberger's fitness as the deputy national security adviser for cyber on the National Security Council.
Well in no time, NBC (and its very professional reporter, Ken Dilanian) came under a hail of criticism including among others AIPAC, other Jewish groups, and a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
AIPAC wrote:
.@NBCNews must retract this offensive story. Charges of dual loyalty are anti-Semitic and insult millions of Americans — Jewish & non-Jewish — who stand by our ally Israel. We will not be deterred from exercising our rights as citizens to advocate for a strong US-Israel relationship.

Private jets emit 40 times as much carbon emissions per passenger in comparison to commercial jetliners.
Take John Kerry, appointed by King Biden as the High Priest of Climate, as an example. Like the best prosperity preachers, he goes on stage and asks for your money, your unwavering faith, and your sacrifice...
And then takes his private jet back to his $12 million oceanside mansion:
Yep, John Kerry owns a Gulfstream jet that allows him to comfortably guzzle a year's worth of your minivan's consumption in a single cross-country trip.
Comment: Kerry's jet emitted an estimated 166 metric tons of carbon last year. The perfect amount of hypocrisy for a proper climate czar.
Clinesmith in August pleaded guilty to "one count of making a false statement within both the jurisdiction of the executive branch and judicial branch of the U.S. government, an offense that carries a maximum term of imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to $250,000."
U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia James Boasberg on Friday during Clinesmith's sentencing hearing said Clinesmith had suffered by losing his job and standing in the eye of a media hurricane.
Comment: Poor guy. That typically happens to criminals. It is not a justification for light treatment.
Boasberg gave him 12 months probation, 400 hours of community service, and no fine.
Government prosecutors had been asking for Clinesmith to spend several months in jail, but Clinesmith's defense had been advocating for probation only.
"[He] lost his job, and his government service is what has given his life much of its meaning," Boasberg said Friday. "He was also earning $150,000 a year and who knows where the earnings go now. He may be disbarred or suspended from the practice of law, you may never be able to work in the national security field again. These are substantial penalties."
Comment: Meanwhile, this guy is probably going to prison for memes:
