Biden DOJ targets West Virginia governor's family - Republicans cry foul

Republicans are crying foul following the news of President Biden's Department of Justice (DOJ) targeting West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice's (R) family.

Justice, who is also a GOP Senate candidate hoping to unseat Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), is the latest to experience political targeting from Biden's DOJ, as it has filed a civil complaint against his family's coal empire — over a dozen coal businesses ran or owned by his son Jay Justice — citing "repeated violations of the law" in hopes of recovering what the assistant attorney general of the DOJ's Environment and Natural Resources Division Todd Kim described as "penalties they owe as a result of those violations."

"Our environmental laws serve to protect communities against adverse effects of industrial activities including surface coal mining operations," Kim said in a statement. "Through this suit, the Justice Department seeks to deliver accountability for defendants' repeated violations of the law and to recover the penalties they owe as a result of those violations."

Comment: Coal is one of WV's few functional economies. While there are legitimate problems with the way the industry conducts its operations, they have been ongoing for years. One would wonder at the timing of this lawsuit and its particular target.

Justice had the gall to defend his citizens' children:

Blinken dismisses calls for a ceasefire, says US must build up Ukraine's military

Blinken
The Secretary of State called for Washington to continue to put militarism before diplomacy

The US will focus its efforts on arming Ukraine and not attempting to bring the war to a negotiated settlement, America's top diplomat said. Secretary of State Antony Blinken laid out a plan to massively expand Kiev's military before talks begin.

In a speech delivered in Finland on Friday, Blinken stated, "The United States - together with our allies and partners - is firmly committed to supporting Ukraine's defense today, tomorrow, for as long as it takes." He continued, "We believe the prerequisite for meaningful diplomacy and real peace is a stronger Ukraine, capable of deterring and defending against any future aggression."

Blinken dismissed the idea of even a temporary pause in the fighting. "Some countries will call for a ceasefire. And on the surface, that sounds sensible - attractive, even. After all, who doesn't want warring parties to lay down their arms? Who doesn't want the killing to stop?" He said. "But a ceasefire that simply freezes current lines in place and enables Putin to consolidate control over the territory he's seized...It would legitimize Russia's land grab. It would reward the aggressor and punish the victim."

UK gov't had 'chilling' secret unit to curb lockdown dissent

Counter-Disinformation Unit

Prof Carl Heneghan, Molly Kingsley and Dr Alexandre de Figueiredo were monitored by government disinformation units
A secretive government unit worked with social media companies in an attempt to curtail discussion of controversial lockdown policies during the pandemic, The Telegraph can reveal.

The Counter-Disinformation Unit (CDU) was set up by ministers to tackle supposed domestic "threats", and was used to target those critical of lockdown and questioning the mass vaccination of children.

Critics of lockdown had posts removed from social media. There is growing suspicion that social media firms used technology to stop the posts being promoted, circulated or widely shared after being flagged by the CDU or its counterpart in the Cabinet Office.

Documents revealed under Freedom of Information (FoI) and data protection requests showed that the activities of prominent critics of the Government's Covid policies were secretly monitored.

New CDC Director is another lockdowner

In the old Soviet Union, citizens were not required to be a member of the Communist Party. But if you were not, you could never expect to rise far professionally or socially. You would never be the head of a department in university, a factory manager, much less the General Secretary. They were always recruited out of the party.

Party membership was proof of loyalty. It was a demonstration that you were willing to put loyalty over morality. Rising high in the party also meant that others in the ruling class likely had something on you. No one gained power without other powerful people knowing of your grim deeds. That way there was mutual trust, or, to put it another way, mutual blackmail.

Honor among thieves only holds true for those who are guilty of thievery.

The system was the same in Nazi Germany. You didn't have to join the party but if you refused, you could not rise in academia, military, or government. And everyone knew the rules. The party controlled the state, and members of the party controlled you. Only the members of the party were trusted with responsibility and rewarded with emoluments.

We are headed this way in the US today.

FBI refuses to hand over communications about Twitter-related censorship

The FBI seal is displayed on a podium before a news conference at the agency's headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The FBI has refused to provide records of its communication with Twitter, related to policing misinformation.

In December, as part of the Twitter Files, journalist Matt Taibbi published several emails between FBI officials and Twitter that showed that the FBI repeatedly contacted Twitter to flag alleged misinformation. The FBI's National Election Command Post (NECP) and the Foreign Influence Task Force were in close contact with Twitter over election misinformation, according to the emails obtained by Taibbi.

In light of the Twitter Files revelations, watchdog Protect the Public's Trust filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for all records of communication between the FBI and Twitter from January 2020 to November 2022.

The FBI refused to respond to the request, claiming it "will neither confirm nor deny the existence" of the records.

"The mere acknowledgment of the existence of FBI records on third-party individuals could reasonably be expected to constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy," the FBI told Protect the Public's Trust.

"The FBI's response to these requests is nothing short of bizarre," Michael Chamberlain, director of Protect the Public's Trust, told the Washington Examiner. "They twisted the substance of the requests and then asserted the right to deny acknowledging if records even exist based upon their mangled interpretation, and even though they have already admitted that the records exist."

Before books are deemed unlawful, lawyers should actually read them

Over 30 years ago, I was a book censor for a short time when I worked for Hong Kong's justice minister.

In the autumn of 1988, Salman Rushdie's book, The Satanic Verses, was published.

The book was a publishing sensation for all the wrong reasons. It contained chapters that fictionalised episodes in the prophet Mohammed's life. There is no need to go into detail about the book's content here. All that needs to be said is that it caused a outbreak of fury in the Muslim world.

Rioting in Pakistan and India over the book killed people. There were lively protests in many other countries. In February 1989, Ayatollah Khomeini, the Iranian supreme leader, issued a fatwah, a religious decree, that sanctioned the killing of Rushdie and his publishers for blaspheming the prophet Mohammed.

The author hid for years, but that did not stop zealots from trying to kill him. The most recent attempt on his life was in August 2022. The would-be assassin nearly killed Rushdie, who lost an eye in the attack.

Members of the Muslim community in the United Kingdom were outraged by the publication of The Satanic Verses. They asked the director of public prosecutions to prosecute the book's publishers. The director declined to prosecute.

In Hong Kong, members of the Muslim community made a similar request hoping to see booksellers prosecuted and the book banned.

Comment: Andrew Lobaczewski: "Freedom of speech and of the clash of opinions, with the observance of appropriate customs, is a necessary condition for the development of every social and political system." When left in the hands of government bureaucrats, censorship inevitably tilts to the careless - quotas must be met, regardless of actual content or legal judgment.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., there is the opposite problem. Elementary school libraries (not public), in which parents have to fight to remove pornographic books that should never have been there in the first place - yet which radical activists seem adamant must be made available to children.

Nearly 10K photos from Hunter Biden's laptop hit the web: 'Truth and transparency'

Photos provided exclusively to Fox News Digital ahead of the website's launch showed remnants of the drugs Hunter Biden had used in 2018, and another that showed him cozying up with his then-lover, Zoe Kestan, the same year.
A trove of photos from Hunter Biden's laptop has been made available to the public through a new website that launched Thursday.

The website — BidenLaptopMedia.com — will house almost 10,000 photos spanning from 2008 to 2019 and took months to complete, Garrett Ziegler, the founder of nonprofit Marco Polo, told Fox News Digital.

"It's taken us a couple of months to, one, go through the photos, about 10,000 of them, and redact the genitalia on the photos," Ziegler, a former Trump White House aide, said of the contents found on the laptop once owned by President Biden's son.

"The number one thing we're about... is truth and transparency," he said. "If the American people want to know what their first family is like, they're going to get it. And we're not going to be taking out photos that paint the Bidens in a good light."

Comment: A first family is supposed to function as an exemplar for the populace. The Bidens are at once a failure, and an exemplar - of negation.

Ziegler also noted that several photos containing private information were redacted — including images containing Social Security numbers, banking information and credit card numbers. Additionally, multiple nude photos of Hallie Biden, the widow of Beau Biden, were redacted.

Of the many photos found on the laptop, Ziegler provided Fox News Digital with two never-before-seen photos from the laptop. One photo showed Hunter Biden cozied up to his then-lover Zoe Kestan in 2018. The other image — featuring an array of drugs and a condom wrapper sitting on a table — was from a text message conversation Hunter had with Hallie Biden — the widow of Beau Biden and former lover of Hunter Biden — the same year.

Every time Putin utters a truth - the world's liars go crazy

Puppet Master
© New Eastern Outlook
Many people in my country are beginning to understand the lies and control mechanisms put in place by our elites. Liars are easily found over time. A Cold War mentality of our elite dinosaurs grafted onto the new breed of soulless elites is now crystal clear. The proxy war in Ukraine, the aggression toward China, and the hubris of Western leadership are finally tipping the scales.

Take this lead to an article from AP and Euronews the other day as a prime example. The author, Mark Armstrong, tried to convert fact into fiction by complaining the Russians are "claiming" the G7 and NATO are trying to divide Russia. Say what?
"G7 leaders at the summit in Hiroshima announced new sanctions on Moscow, while Putin accuses the West of trying to divide the people of Russian, whose 'diversity is their strength.'"
There it is. Put out on the newswires, as if the West's leadership has not already admitted that chopping up Russia is the goal! Russian journalist and former editor of the Ukraine branch of Forbes, Leonid Bershidsky, makes a case for this. The self-exiled Putin hater cites the work of Vladimir Sorokin the novel Telluria, about a worldwide breakup of nations leading to a dystopian/medieval future. The author melds apocalyptic catastrophe with what he and others see as sensible - the dissolution of the Russian Federation. Bershidsky is not alone.

In May of 2022, US journalist Casey Michel called for the "decolonization" of Russia. In January of this year, he doubled down in the Financial Times with a pseudo-intellectual yard about the West needing to strike while Putin's Russia is divided and weak because of the Ukraine conflict. Michael, who became one of the Russophobic remora of George Soros when he worked at ThinkProgress, is paid to talk about bad old Putin and how Russia is falling apart all the time.

Roll 'em! Jan 6 security footage shows Pelosi evacuating Hollywood-style from Capitol as daughter films

Alexandra Pelosi Nancy jan 6 evacuation capitol

Alexandra Pelosi films her mother, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "evacuating" during the Jan 6 protests
Ex-Capitol Police chief says Pelosi's actions that day created a 'major distraction,' put unnecessary strain on her security detail.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has described having to evacuate a riotous Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 as traumatic. But Capitol Police security footage obtained by Just the News shows the long-time Democrat leader exited Hollywood-style from the home of Congress that fateful day with her daughter filming her as security officers tried to guide her through a secret safe passage corridor.

The footage, made available by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and aired for the first time on the Just the News, No Noise television show on Real America's Voice on Thursday night, provides three different angles of Pelosi's evacuation the afternoon of Jan. 6. Each show her daughter Alexandra roving around her mother's delegation with a camera as they moved briskly through corridors, led by members of the Capitol Police protective detail.

The video shows then-Speaker Pelosi was not in jeopardy after fleeing the breached Capitol chamber, because the footage shows no protesters or rioters penetrated the evacuation route. Capitol Police confirmed to Congress the woman holding the camera in the footage was Pelosi's daughter, Alexandra.

Comment: Julie Kelly of American Greatness adds:
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) began January 6, 2021, by mugging for the cameras — more specifically, a camera operated by her filmmaker daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, who just happened to record every moment of her mother's movements on what would become one of the most infamous days in American history.

As a clearly tense Pelosi prepared to convene the joint session of Congress during which Republican members of the House and Senate planned to debate the Electoral College outcome in six states — Pelosi also is seen conducting a caucus video conference that morning criticizing Republican plans to delay certification — her chief of staff warned that President Trump might go to the Capitol following his noon speech at the Ellipse. "I hope he comes, I'm gonna punch him out," she told Terry McCullough.

Turning toward her daughter's camera, Pelosi continued her tirade. "I've been waiting for this, for trespassing on Capitol grounds. I'm gonna punch him out, I'm gonna go to jail, and I'm gonna be happy."

Less than two hours later, members of Congress, including Pelosi, were evacuated when the building was breached shortly after 2 p.m. Alexandra Pelosi later told CNN's Christiane Amanpour the events of January 6 "offended her [mother] in her soul."

But if Pelosi's soul was indeed offended, unseen footage released today by Just the News founder John Solomon suggests otherwise. Pelosi is seen coolly walking through the evacuation route on her way to a secure location at Fort McNair in Washington — with Alexandra just a few steps ahead, walking backwards, to capture the moment. Far from being under mortal threat by selfie-taking Americans in the Rotunda above, Pelosi is surrounded by her security detail as she is led to a chauffeured vehicle. Her daughter also traveled with her mother to the Army base located two miles from the Capitol.

Hardly the actions of one terrified of the imaginary howling mob.

The surveillance video shows a different angle than the recordings released to CNN by Alexandra Pelosi in October. In that footage, Pelosi appears to engage in a bit of play-acting as the camera rolls. "If they stop the proceedings, they will have succeeded in stopping the validation of the president of the United States," she told McCullough through a face mask as they walked through unidentified hallways in the Capitol. "If they stop the proceedings, we will have totally failed."

"We have got to finish the proceedings, or else they will have a complete victory," Pelosi said to someone on her cell phone right before she entered an SUV headed for Fort McNair.
And from The Gateway Pundit:
It was all a setup.

From Ray Epps - to opening the magnetic doors from the inside - to the dozens of fed operatives in the crowd - to Ginger Gun - to firing flash bombs and gas canisters on unsuspecting grandmas and seniors - to the mass arrests of hundreds of innocent Trump supporters who were waved into the US Capitol.

Now we have the proof that it was all a setup and the entire thing was filmed by a pre-staged camera crew.

On Thursday CNN released never-before-seen footage of Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell inside the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 — the two people who refused to call in the National Guard prior to that day and during the rioting.

The footage was filmed by Nancy's daughter Alexandra. Nancy's son-in-law was outside filming the insurrection.

It was all staged.

Julie Kelly tweeted out the CNN production on Thursday night.

The entire "insurrection" was planned and staged.

These people truly are demons.
Another tidbit.
In this video, Alexandra Pelosi is on camera saying many very shocking things. She mocks the idea that January 6th was an insurrection and admits that DC is too biased to hold fair trials and that many J6ers would be found not guilty if their cases were handled anywhere else in the country, and much more.

From our source who was in the room during the filming: "I did a lot of due diligence making sure that the defendant who shot this video had permission to do so. I spoke with his attorney who provided me documentation that Alexandra agreed to be filmed if they met. I wanted to bring this to you before anybody else if you're interested in featuring it. Nancy Pelosi has contributed to destroying countless lives with her "insurrection" narrative and sham committee - And here is her daughter on camera saying it's all a crock."

Here are some of the key moments in the video where Alexandra makes some particularly audacious comments.

Key moments:

2:43: Pelosi: "The Shaman did nothing... What did the Shaman do? He stood there."

4:24: "After the Democrats lose the house, then they get rid of the committee, people may lose I think interest... no one is going to care after the democrats are out of power. And you take Biden out of office- then who cares!?"

4:50: "DC is a lot of people who work for the government. I don't think they're sympathetic. If you got it moved (changed trial jurisdiction from DC) you'd totally get off" (laughs while saying this)

6:50: "If there was an insurrection... you were supposed to have a plan!" "It was the sorriest insurrection in history"

8:11: "You're going to be able to laugh about this one day"

The story had been reported on nearly two years ago, but was resolutely ignored by the MSM except in ways that made Vodka Nan look good. Why is it coming out now?

The criminalization of truth in the western world

1984 Biden

Time is running out on truth, the telling of which is being criminalized.

In his Introduction to the 1946 edition of Brave New World, Aldous Huxley noted that the greatest triumphs of propaganda have been accomplished, not by dong something, but by refraining from doing. Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects, by lowering what Mr. Churchill calls an 'iron curtain' between the masses and such facts or arguments as the political bosses regard as undesirable, totalitarian propagandists influence thought more effectively than by lying.

Churchill was speaking of the Iron Curtain being lowered over the Soviet Empire by Stalin. Today the Iron Curtin is being lowered over the "free" Western peoples by their "democratic" governments, their "democratic" media, and their "democratic" universities and school systems. If you are not permitted to know the truth, you cannot speak it.

Elon Musk spent a large part of his fortune to free Twitter from censorship only to find that the EU will ban Twitter from EU member states unless Musk accepts EU censorship of truths unwelcome to the EU's agendas.
