A House hearing on the IRS targeting of conservative groups erupted into an argument between Rep. Elijah Cummings and House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa just moments after former IRS official Lois Lerner invoked her Fifth Amendment right not to testify in regards to her role in the tax scrutiny scandal.

The spat began as Rep. Issa, R-Calif., stood up to adjourn the hearing, but Rep. Cummings requested to ask a "procedural question." While making a statement, Issa asked Cummings to yield when the Maryland Democrat became incensed at the California Republican.

"Mr. Chairman, you cannot run a committee like this," Cummings appealed.

"If you will sit down and allow me to ask a question," Cummings insisted. "I am a member of a Congress of the United States of America."

"I am tired of this," Cummings continued, as Issa signaled to have his microphone cut off. "You cannot just have a one-sided investigation. There is absolutely something wrong with that, and it is absolutely un-American."

Long-nosed Hypocrite Barack Obama accuses Putin of breaking international law

Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama traded accusations over the crisis in Ukraine on Tuesday, with the Russian leader seeking to blame the Americans for the growing international standoff as the US president all but accused Putin of breaking international law.

The barbed exchanges, a sign of the escalating tensions between Washington and Moscow, came as Putin delivered his first public remarks on the crisis - ruling out a war days after his forces took control of the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, but reserving the right to use force to protect Russian speakers in the east of the country "as a last resort".

Comment: You can hear and read what Putin had to say on the matter here: A true statesman: Vladimir Putin press conference, March 4, 2014 - video and transcript

Speaking from his country residence outside Moscow, Putin gave a robust performance during which he portrayed Kiev as being in the grip of "terror, extremists and nationalists" rampaging on the streets. Putin described what is broadly seen as a Russian land grab in Crimea as "a humanitarian mission".

Obama and John Kerry, the US secretary of state, responded in apparent disbelief after Putin maintained there were no Russian forces occupying Crimea. "He really denied there were troops in Crimea?" said Kerry after arriving in Kiev, where he offered $1bn in loan guarantees to the new Ukraine government.

MP Robert Halfon compares Ukip support for Muslim policy as "literally akin to the Nazis"

Ukip has done the Conservative party a favour by "cleansing" it of people with extreme views, a Tory MP says.

Robert Halfon accused Ukip MEP Gerard Batten of supporting a policy "literally akin to the Nazis" by suggesting Muslims should sign a charter rejecting violence.

In an interview with The House magazine, the Harlow MP claimed there was a "sinister element" to Nigel Farage's party.

Halfon also ridiculed former Ukip MEP Godfrey Bloom, who sits as an independent after calling women at a meeting "sluts" and hitting the Channel 4 News journalist Michael Crick on the head with a party conference programme.

Halfon said: "To me there are two kinds of Ukip - the Godfrey Bloom guy who's like a cross between Sid James and Bernard Manning, and then there's a much more sinister element, like the MEP who said every Muslim has got to sign a declaration of non-violence, which to me is literally akin to the Nazis saying Jews should wear a yellow star."

Manufacturing Contempt for Venezuela

Image
© ReutersViolent opposition protests last month.
The Venezuelan opposition has been skillfully using Twitter and Facebook to disseminate horrifying photos and testimonies of alleged government violence and abuse against protesters over the last few weeks. The problem with these allegations and images which have gone viral globally, and even used by media outlets, is that they are fabrications; many of the most viral photos allegedly from Venezuela have actually depicted images from places such as Syria, Chile, Brazil - and even a US-based porn site.

"Initial, inaccurate information will be retweeted more than any subsequent correction," wrote Craig Silverman, journalist and founder of the blog Regret the Error, for the Poynter Institute in a post in 2010. Silverman's insight reveals the dangers, often ignored, about the use of Twitter and social media as a news source, as well as a tool for liberation and uprisings.

Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich says U.S. is responsible for provoking Ukraine crisis

Image

Diverting from the typical Western line against "Russia's invasion of Crimea," former Ohio congressman and Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said it was driven by covert action by the United States.

Kucinich made the comments Tuesday evening while speaking to Fox News host Bill O'Reilly, arguing American meddling in Ukraine's affairs is what sparked the current situation in the first place and that Ukrainians were being exploited by Western powers.

Asked how he'd handle the tense standoff if he were president, Kucinich said the following:

"What I'd do is not have USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy working with U.S. taxpayers' money to knock off an elected government in Ukraine, which is what they did. I wouldn't try to force the people of Ukraine into a deal with NATO against their interest or into a deal with the European Union, which is against their economic interest.""So, it's the USA's fault that Putin rolled in? We made them do it?" O'Reilly asked.

'This is what you cook for Ukraine?' U.S. State Department's junior spokesperson Jen Psaki grilled over boss's leaked phone call

Image
Senior US State Department official Victoria Nuland has allegedly been caught giving a harsh message to the EU while discussing Ukrainian opposition leaders' roles in the country's future government. The phone call was taped and posted on YouTube. US officials refused to confirm or deny the tape's authenticity, but State Department spokesperson Jan Psaki said that she "didn't say it was inauthentic." While being grilled about this and other tape-related statements, Psaki hinted that the tape could have been leaked by Moscow.

The Presstitute Media, the looting of Ukraine, and the future of the world

Image

The emperor without clothes dares rattling its toothless sabers. It would be hilarious if it weren't so sad. - Sad, because the presstitute media has converted the western populace into mindless stooges, a brainwashed western population to the point of losing sense of reality, of right and wrong; blinded to the point of screaming into the bullhorn of Washington's Assassin in Chief.

Their numbed minds can't imagine a reverse scenario: Russia destabilizing, say Mexico in the emperor's 'backyard' (as Obama is infamously known to call Latin America), to install a puppet government of their liking. - Imagine!

Comment: Imagine! But as we know, these days it's only really the US and it's cronies who have the time and inclination for such activities. Well somebody's got to rape and loot the world!

Ukraine: Secretive Neo-Nazi Military Organization Involved in Euromaidan Sniper Shootings

Image
NATO's stay-behind unit in Ukraine?
The events in Ukraine since November 2013 are so astonishing as almost to defy belief. An legitimately-elected (said by all international monitors) Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovich, has been driven from office, forced to flee as a war criminal after more than three months of violent protest and terrorist killings by so-called opposition.

His "crime" according to protest leaders was that he rejected an EU offer of a vaguely-defined associate EU membership that offered little to Ukraine in favor of a concrete deal with Russia that gave immediate €15 billion debt relief and a huge reduction in Russian gas import prices. Washington at that point went into high gear and the result today is catastrophe.

A secretive neo-nazi military organization reportedly linked to NATO played a decisive role in targeted sniper attacks and violence that led to the collapse of the elected government.

Leaked phone call between EU Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Helga Schmid and EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Tombinski reveals EU invovlement in conspiracy to subvert democracy in Ukraine

Image
Jan Tombinski
The following phone call was leaked at the same time (February 7th) that the Victoria Nuland phone call with the US Ambassador to Ukraine was leaked. This call took place between Helga Schmid - a German diplomat and Deputy Secretary-General at the European External Action Service (the EU's 'foreign ministry'), and underling to the 'High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for the EU', Catherine Ashton - and Jan Tombinskii, the EU's 'ambassador' in Ukraine.

Transcript in English:

Comment: Again we see that Western governments and institutions were managing facts on the ground and the public's perception of those facts, before during and after the coup d'etat in Ukraine, throughout the course of which they were in close contact with the Ukrainian coup plotters - both the formal opposition and the hired thugs on the streets.

It's absolutely disgusting how these Eurocrats and Bureaucrats in Washington and Brussels talk democracy while actively subverting it.

Have they no shame?

Apparently not.

War between CIA and Senate? CIA accused of spying on Senate Intelligence Committee‏

bloody cia
Senators on Wednesday expressed alarm at explosive allegations that the CIA might have spied on their computers to keep tabs on their controversial review of Bush-era "enhanced interrogation" techniques.

Lawmakers from both parties said that if the allegations against the CIA prove true, intelligence officials might have violated the law - and certainly violated the separation of powers enshrined in the Constitution.

"I'm assuming that's it's not true, but if it is true, it should be World War III in terms of Congress standing up for itself against the CIA, " Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told The Hill.

Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) confirmed Wednesday that the CIA inspector general was investigating accusations that the covert agency had peered into the panel's computers. But she didn't comment on reports that the investigator has referred the matter to the Justice Department.
