Deutsche Bank: Green New Deal requires 'certain degree of eco-dictatorship'

what we must do to rebuild
An analysis published by Deutsche Bank sharply criticises the "dishonest debate" with which the EU is selling its "Green Deal" to the people of Europe. The massive risks of the project for prosperity, the economic system and democracy itself should not be concealed, but should be addressed openly.

Eric Heymann, a senior economist at Deutsche Bank Research, warns that Europe's Green Deal and its goal of climate neutrality by 2050 threatens a European mega-crisis, leading to "noticeable loss of welfare and jobs". And he warns: It won't work without "a certain degree of eco-dictatorship".

The analyst describes it as dubious that the Green Deal is being touted across the board as "a new growth strategy" which would allow the EU to become a "fair and prosperous society." While this may look good on paper, Heymann writes, in order to achieve carbon neutral by 2050, Europe's economy and its entire political and legal systems will have to be changed fundamentally.

For the time being, the revolutionary consequences of the EU's climate agenda for everyday life are "still relatively abstract" and for most households "still acceptable." Soon, however, the path towards climate neutrality will require drastic interventions in the choice of means of transport, the size of housing, the means of heating, the possession of electronic consumer goods, as well as restrictions in the consumption of meat and tropical fruits.

Comment: How dare a member of Deutsche Bank ask some reasonable questions and point out a few (of the many) big problems the Green New Deal is likely to present going forward. Which side is he on anyway!?

UK Police Chief: 'Now is really not the time for freedom of speech, right to assembly'

The chief constable of Dorset Police has urged lockdown protesters to accept that "now is really not the time" for freedom of speech and the right to assembly.

Chief Constable James Vaughan was speaking after the controversial arrest of two women for, seemingly, being recorded leaving home more than once and "sitting on a bench", in an incident the police now allege was "stage-managed" by lockdown protesters, as one of the women is a Covid sceptic — although she denies any pre-planning.

Comment: The police withdrew the fine from the women so it would appear that they themselves realised they were in the wrong.

"We appealed to them [the protesters] last weekend to say: 'Look guys, we respect your right to freedom of speech and right to assembly but now is really not the time, it is too dangerous. Please don't come, we have got other things we need to do,'" said the chief constable in comments to The Telegraph.

Comment: The police want the power to break into the homes of SUSPECTED 'lockdown breakers', it's obvious where their priorities lie.

Comment: Note that these same nonsensical rules are being enforced throughout Europe, with countries acting in lockstep, which leads one to suspect that they're not calling the shots and, instead, there's a greater agenda afoot:

"There are people who are radicalized right now,' AOC said at a town hall on Jan. 15, 2021.
The federal government needs to fund the de-programming of white supremacists and conspiracy theorists, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Friday night.

"The White supremacist cause is futile, it's nihilist," AOC, a Democrat who represents parts of The Bronx and Queens, said during a virtual town hall meeting Friday night.

"Their world will never exist. That's why we're seeing violence right now.," she said, speaking in the wake of the violent siege on the US Capitol by radical supporters of President Trump.

"We have to pick up those pieces."

Comment: Occasional Cortex running true to form. At least the bartender from the Bronx is consistent.By 'white supremacists', she of course means anyone who voted for Trump. Which is most of the country...

Brazil says 'no' to great reset: 'Totalitarian social control is not the remedy for any crisis'

Ernesto Araujo

Ernesto Araujo, Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs
Brazil's minister of foreign affairs says "no" to the World Economic Forum's (WEF) proposed "great reset" agenda, telling the United Nations (UN) special session on COVID-19 that "totalitarian social control is not the remedy for any crisis."

On December 3, Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ernesto Araujo rebuked the WEF's technocratic "great reset" of society and the global economy in a recorded speech before the special session of the UN.

Although Araujo did not say the words "great reset" or "World Economic Forum" during his speech to the UN, he made it abundantly clear in a tweet the following day that he was referring to the "great reset" agenda in his speech.

Syria envoy, who admitted lying to Trump on troop levels, now defends his ME policy, says Biden should keep it

US Special Representative to Syria James Jeffrey
President Donald Trump's policy in the Middle East delivered "clear results" and Joe Biden shouldn't change it, the US ex-envoy to the anti-terrorist coalition operating in Syria and Iraq argued in the pages of Foreign Affairs.

Trump opted to abandon the "transformational campaigns" pursued by the Bush and Obama administrations in favor of "working primarily through partners on the ground" to advance American interests, argued James Jeffrey in the essay published on Friday. Jeffrey was the US special envoy for Syria and the coalition against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) from 2018 to his retirement in November 2020.

The Trump administration's two major successes, according to Jeffrey, were the "destruction of ISIS's territorial caliphate in Iraq and Syria" and the Abraham Accords, between Israel on one side and Bahrain, Sudan and the UAE on the other. The US also managed to "counter Russia's further expansion in Syria and elsewhere" and "mobilize a coalition to counter Tehran's malign behavior."

Trump's policies all revolved around the notion that Iran posed a "holistic threat" to the region and the US, Jeffrey explained. His unilateral abandonment of the nuclear deal Obama had negotiated and "maximum pressure" sanctions had a "real effect" on the Iranian economy and "regional adventurism," the envoy wrote. Meanwhile, neither China nor Russia were willing to bail out Iran, while the Europeans "could do little to retaliate, despite their opposition."

Goya Foods CEO: Coronavirus was weaponized by the left for political reasons

Now that the installation of former vice president Joe Biden into the White House is only days away, Democrat governors and mayors who imposed crushing lockdowns have now reversed course.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot joined New York strongman Andrew Cuomo in calling for bars and restaurants to reopen as quickly as possible as the political left has now suddenly realized that their dictatorial decrees have had severe economic consequences.

The sudden about face by the Democrats only confirms the suspicions by many that the lockdowns have been driven by politics and the need to crash the economy in order to hurt President Trump rather than to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.

One CEO who is pointing out that the lockdowns are a Democrat sham is Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue, who on Friday, blasted the lockdowns during an appearance on Fox News:

Comment: Likely millions of Americans feel the same way as Unanue - manipulated and hoodwinked by a political agenda that obviously couldn't be won on its own merits.

"Unprecedented injustice": Dutch government quits over tax subsidy scandal

Rutte

Prime Minister Mark Rutte
Prime Minister Mark Rutte's government resigned on Friday, accepting responsibility for wrongful accusations of fraud by the tax authorities that drove thousands of families to financial ruin, often on the basis of ethnicity.

The cabinet would remain in place for now in a caretaker capacity to manage the coronavirus crisis, Rutte said. He then rode his bike to King Willem-Alexander's 17th century baroque Huis Ten Bosch palace in The Hague to discuss his resignation.

An election has already been scheduled for March 17 at the end of Rutte's third term.

"This is about tens of thousands of parents who were crushed under the wheels of the state," Rutte told journalists. "There can be no doubt, this is a colossal stain."

FBI claims it never reviewed Seth Rich's laptop despite gaining custody of it - CIA doesn't deny they fabricated Guccifer 2.0 digital fingerprints

The Central Intelligence Agency will neither confirm nor deny that it fabricated the Russian "fingerprints" in Democratic National Committee emails published in 2016 by "Guccifer 2.0," and the FBI implicitly acknowledged today that it never reviewed the contents of DNC employee Seth Rich's laptop despite gaining custody of the laptop after his murder.

The revelations came in two separate Freedom of Information Act lawsuits filed by my clients in the Eastern District of Texas. For those of you who live under a rock, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange strongly implied in a 2016 interview that the leaked DNC emails came from Mr. Rich, while the political / bureaucratic / media establishment has steadfastly maintained that the emails were hacked by agents of Russia.

The latest admissions blow a hole in the government / media narrative, suggesting that federal officials not only ignored Seth Rich's role in the leaks, but fraudulently shifted the blame to Russia.

In The Transparency Project v. Department of Justice, et al., my client asked to see records indicating whether the CIA or its Directorate of Digital Innovation, its contractors, etc. inserted Russian "fingerprints" into the metadata of the emails that were released publicly. Microsoft, Oracle & Co full speed ahead on Covid-19 vaccine passports, citing incipient government demand

Denmark's proposed Covid-19 passport
US tech and health behemoths have joined forces to roll out yet another Covid-19 vaccination passport, dangling a return to international travel but raising more questions about the future of privacy.

Along with healthcare nonprofit Mayo Clinic, health and tech companies including Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle have united to form the Vaccination Credential Initiative, aimed at devising a secure "health passport" that tracks the bearer's vaccination status across borders.

In a press release on Thursday, the CEO of VCI member the Commons Project Foundation argued such passports were necessary to "safely return to travel, work, school, and life, while protecting their data privacy."

Comment: None of which is actually true. The most charitable explanation is that such things are a pacifier, like masks - ineffective, but giving the illusion of 'doing something', when nothing can actually be done. Least charitable: these freaks just want as much control over our lives as possible.

The group is working on technology that will allow jab recipients to carry an encrypted copy of their "immunization credentials," storable in the digital wallet of their choice. If the recipient does not have a smartphone, they could receive a paper version printed with a specialized QR code. The participants have emphasized they want to make "electronic access to vaccination, testing, and other medical records" accessible to rich and poor alike, "as easy as online banking," in the words of Oracle exec Mike Sicilia.

However, there remains no proof that receiving the recently-approved Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna jabs actually will stop the recipient from spreading the virus, as both companies have admitted. VCI members nevertheless believe that being able to produce proof of inoculation is a vital step to resuming international travel and that governments and airlines will soon demand travelers carry such proof with them.

Unhinged Rep. Ayanna Pressley says Republicans engaged in 'chemical warfare' by not wearing masks

Rep. Ayanna Pressley

Rep. Ayanna Pressley
Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) attacked GOP lawmakers who did not wear masks during the Capitol riots. She called this "chemical warfare" and believes these Republican Congressmen should be expelled. This is according to Fox News.

"It's criminal behavior," Pressley told CNN on Thursday. "I don't know what else to call it." She continued, "they have been complicit from the very beginning in their willful criminality to carry the water for Donald Trump and these science denials which allowed this pandemic to rage out of control."

Comment: Pressley is immersed, fairly completely, in a Pseudo-reality - that is so far removed from truth that her rhetoric, coupled with her position of power, threatens to psychologically infect those (who actually take her seriously) without their understanding that she has some rather serious pathologies.
