Iran's 'new equation' reaches way beyond West Asia

Iran Ad

A Holy of the Holies was shattered in the Holy Land as Iran staged a quite measured, heavily choreographed response to the Israeli terror attack against its consulate/ambassador residence in Damascus, a de facto evisceration of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic immunity.

This game-changer will directly interfere on how the Anglo-American system manages its simultaneous conflagration with Russia, China and Iran - three top BRICS members.

The key problem is escalations are already built in - and will be hard to remove. The Total Cancel War against Russia; the genocide in Gaza - with its explicit policy masterfully decoded by Prof. Michael Hudson; and the decoupling/shaping the terrain against China won't simply vanish - as all communication bridges with the Global Majority keep being torched.

Yet the Iranian message indeed establishes a "New Equation" - as Tehran christened it, and prefigures many other surprises to come from West Asia.

Iran wanted to - and did send - a clear message. New equation: if the biblical psychopathic entity keeps attacking Iranian interests, from henceforth it will be counter-attacked inside Israel. All that in a matter of "seconds" - as the Security Council in Tehran has already cleared all the procedures.

Escalation though seems inevitable. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak: "Netanyahu is influenced by his [fundamentalist] political partners to go into an escalation so he can hold onto power and accelerate the coming of the Messiah."

Compare it to Iranian President Raisi: "The smallest act against Tehran's interests will be met with a massive, extensive, and painful response against all its operations."

Missile Launch

The world's attention has, rightfully so, been focused on the fallout from Iran's retaliatory strike against Israel on April 13-14, 2024. Iran's purpose in launching the attack was to establish a deterrence posture designed to put Israel and the United States on notice that any attack against Iran, whether on Iranian soil or on the territory of other nations, would trigger a retaliation which would inflict more damage on the attacker than the attacker could hope to inflict on Iran. To achieve this result, Iran had to prove itself capable of overcoming the ballistic missile defense systems of both Israel and the United States which were deployed in and around Israel at the time of the attack. This Iran was able to accomplish, with at least nine missiles striking two Israeli air bases that fell under the protective umbrella of the Israeli-US missile defense shield.

The Iranian deterrence posture has implications that reach far beyond the environs of Israel or the Middle East. By defeating the US-Israeli missile defense shield, Iran exposed the notion of US missile defense supremacy that serves as the heart of US force protection models used when projecting military power on a global scale. The US defensive posture vis-à-vis Russia, China, and North Korea hinges on assumptions made regarding the efficacy of US ballistic missile defense capabilities. By successfully attacking Israeli air bases which had the benefit of the full range of US anti-ballistic missile technology, Iran exposed the vulnerability of the US missile defense shield to modern missile technologies involving maneuverable warheads, decoys, and hypersonic speed. US bases in Europe, the Pacific and the Middle East once thought to be well-protected, have suddenly been revealed to be vulnerable to hostile attack. So, too, are US Navy ships operating at sea.

New Zealand's MPs claim online harassment rising, cite lockdowns and vaccine mandates as primary reasons, study reveals

© Facebook / Real Rukshan / screenshotFILE: Protesters march toward parliament during a demonstration against government Covid-19 policies, in Wellington, New Zealand, August 23, 2022.
From online abuse to threats of sexual violence, harassment of New Zealand's parliamentarians is on the rise, and becoming increasingly disturbing, University of Otago research shows.

Published in Frontiers in Psychiatry, the study investigates harassment and violence towards MPs in the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery era, following on from a similar 2014 study.

Of the 54 MPs who participated, 98% said they had experienced harassment, ranging from disturbing communication to actual physical violence.

Lead author Professor Susanna Every-Palmer, of the Department of Psychological Medicine, Wellington, says the harassment experienced has significant psychosocial costs and requires a multi-pronged response.

"Most MPs reported experiencing abuse related to the Government response to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as lockdowns and vaccine mandates. Many of them commented that the frequency and intensity of abuse increased markedly during the pandemic and had not subsequently abated.

Comment: Of course actual harassment is to be condemned, and oftentimes those guilty of the more egregious behaviour are actually psychologically unstable people merely using popular topics and figureheads as an outlet for their personal issues.

However, lest we forget that during the contrived coronavirus crisis, MPs and public figures alike felt quite at liberty to propose the removal of freedoms for those who abstained from being swept up in the hysteria. And a smaller number of adherents online - although some were even given platforms on national TV - openly stated that those who did not comply 'deserved to get ill/die' or should be refused all manner of government essential services.

What is almost completely ignored in the study above is how the general public have valid and grave concerns regarding how their countries are run, and with the people tasked with doing it. And it's notable that New Zealand is the focus of this study, and that its findings highlight the lockdowns and mandates as being at the top of the list of grievances, because, just a few months ago, a whistleblower working for New Zealand's healthcare system came forward revealing that these concerns and grievances are well founded. And the sinister behaviour of their government towards said whistleblower further reveals that a significant number of MPs in government are, at best, failing to working in the public interest, and, at worst, knowingly corrupt, and likely guilty of heinous crimes: Admin who oversaw New Zealand's CoVaxx datasbase ARRESTED for leaking official numbers on high-mortality Covid 'vaccine' batches

Telegram founder: Apple, Google more dangerous than gov'ts; Jan 6 data demands; company has no ties to Russian gov't

Pavel Durov telegram
© Instagram/DurovPavel Durov has slammed the tech giants for their attempts to curtail freedom of speech
Apple and Google "could, basically, censor whatever you can read, access on your smartphone," Pavel Durov, the co-founder of the popular messaging app Telegram has told Tucker Carlson in an interview; he lamented that the pressure coming from the tech giants is stronger than that exerted by governments.

The entrepreneur has also said he received warnings from both the Democratic and Republican parties after the January 2021 riots in the US Capitol.

The rare discussion took place at the Russian-born IT entrepreneur's office in Dubai, and was released on Wednesday. Carlson asked Durov to give an example of a request to build backdoors into Telegram that crossed into censorship, and could be considered spying, or violating people's privacy. The messaging app claims to have over 900 million active users.

Comment: As the Twitter/X files revealed, Big Tech is riddled with government agents, and both are largely working together towards the same agenda. One outlier appears to be X/Twitter, since Musk's takeover, because it has largely managed to defy government pressure; Telegram may be another:

Some relevant snippets from Wiki on Durov:
In February 2023, Arabian Business named him the most powerful entrepreneur in Dubai.[8]

For some years after his dismissal as CEO of VK in 2014,[9] the Durov brothers travelled the world in self-imposed exile[10] as citizens of Saint Kitts and Nevis.[11]

In 2017, Pavel joined the World Economic Forum (WEF) Young Global Leaders as a representative of Finland.[12][13] Durov was naturalized as French in August 2021 and now has European Union citizenship.[2]

On 16 April 2014, Durov publicly refused to hand over the personal data of Ukrainian protesters to Russia's security agencies and to block Alexei Navalny's page on VK.[9] Instead, he posted the relevant orders on his own VK page,[30][31] claiming that the requests were unlawful.

Upon leaving Russia, he obtained Saint Kitts and Nevis citizenship by donating $250,000 to the country's Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation and secured $300 million in cash within Swiss banks. This allowed him to focus on creating his next company, Telegram, focused on an encrypted messaging service of the same name. Telegram was headquartered in Berlin and later moved to Dubai.[11]

Durov is a self-described libertarian, teetotaler, and vegetarian.[43][44][45][46][47] Durov claims to have an ascetic lifestyle, and promotes freedom from personal possessions.[48][49][50] For his twenty-seventh birthday in 2011, he donated a million dollars to the Wikimedia Foundation,[51] the founder and honorary chairman of which is fellow libertarian Jimmy Wales.[52] In 2012, he published manifestos described by commentators as libertarian detailing his ideas on improving Russia.[53]

Iran's President warns of 'massive' response if Israel launches even the 'tiniest invasion'

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned on Wednesday that the "tiniest invasion" by Israel would bring a "massive and harsh" response, as the region braces for potential Israeli retaliation after Iran's attack over the weekend.

Raisi spoke at an annual army parade that was relocated to a barracks north of the capital, Tehran, from its usual venue on a highway in the city's southern outskirts. Iranian authorities gave no explanation for its relocation, and state TV did not broadcast it live, as it has in previous years.

Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel over the weekend in response to an Israeli strike on Iran's embassy compound in Syria on April 1 that killed 12 people, including two Iranian generals.

Israel successfully intercepted nearly all the missiles and drones.

Comment: It would appear as though Israel has been checkmated, for now; however, it has actually been covertly attacking Iran, and other nations, for years, and so perhaps Tel Aviv will resort to its tried and tested, less conventional methods, until it can find another way to drag the West into its contrived armageddon:

US told Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries - WaPo

Kiev's refusal to acquiesce has seen tensions rise between Ukraine and its top backer, the paper claims, citing anonymous US officials

The US has on multiple occasions asked Ukraine to stop targeting Russian oil refineries with its drones, the Washington Post claims, citing anonymous American officials. Kiev has reportedly ignored those requests, thus straining relations with its top foreign provider of military assistance, the newspaper reports.

Since January, Ukraine has launched a series of long-range attacks on Russian energy facilities, including oil depots and refineries, using kamikaze drones. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has argued that the strikes have been meant to impress Kiev's Western backers amid a lack of progress on the front line.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that US Vice President Kamala Harris had met privately with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in February, telling him to refrain from targeting Russian oil refineries. President Joe Biden's administration reportedly believes that such attacks would raise global energy prices and provoke massive Russian retaliation.

Ukrainian link to Moscow terror attack 'confirmed' - Russia's security chief

Everyone involved in the March 22 massacre will be held accountable, Nikolay Patrushev has said

Russian investigators have confirmed that there is a link between the perpetrators of last month's terrorist attack in Moscow and Ukrainian nationalists, the secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolay Patrushev has said.

He reiterated Moscow's suspicions about Ukraine's role in the Crocus City Hall atrocity, in which over 140 people were killed.

"During the investigation, the link between the perpetrator of this terrorist attack and Ukrainian nationalists has been confirmed," Patrushev said during a meeting of the body.

Russia demands West help find Moscow terror attack masterminds
Attempts by the US and its allies to shield Kiev from the Crocus City Hall inquiry look suspicious, Vassily Nebenzia has said

Russia expects Washington and its allies to cooperate with its investigation aimed at identifying the masterminds behind the deadly Moscow terror attack that took place in March, the nation's ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, said on Friday.

The attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue, which is located just outside Moscow, claimed more than 140 lives. Four gunmen stormed the building, shooting everyone in sight before setting it on fire. A total of 11 suspects were arrested in the wake of the rampage, including the four alleged assailants.

Russian officials described the perpetrators as radical Islamists but stated that the crime may have been organized by Ukrainian security services, who used the terrorists as proxies. On Friday, Nebenzia said that the extensive effort made by the US and its allies to draw attention away from Ukraine only reinforces suspicions about Western involvement.

"Amid such relentless attempts to pin the blame on ISIS and shield Kiev at any cost... a question about Western security services' involvement in orchestrating this terrorist attack remains open," the diplomat said, referring to Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), an international terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the massacre. Western media repeatedly pointed to these claims while reporting on the incident.

Moscow has "no doubts" that Ukraine was "directly involved in this despicable and egregious crime," Russia's UN envoy said, adding that investigators already have enough evidence for such a conclusion.

Earlier in April, Russia's Investigative Committee said that a potential link between Ukrainian security services and the March attack had been uncovered. The statement cited "significant evidence" of Kiev's involvement but did not provide any specific details.

Investigators recently claimed to have found a money trail linking the alleged terrorists to Ukrainian nationalists. Russia's FSB security agency also released records of interrogations of the suspected gunmen, who claimed that they had been given instructions to flee towards the Ukrainian border after the strike.

"We expect our Western colleagues to cooperate on detaining the masterminds behind the Crocus City Hall terrorist attacks and bringing them to justice," Nebenzia said on Friday, adding that Moscow also would like to see the West aid its investigation of the Nord Stream pipelines explosions that took place in autumn 2022. After all, Western nations "unequivocally condemned" both attacks, the diplomat added.

For other instances of Western bias:
IAEA boss: No Russian heavy weapons at Zaporozhye plant
Although there are Russian "armored vehicles and some security presence at the plant," IAEA monitors did not see any prohibited weapons, such as multiple rocket launchers, tanks, and artillery, Grossi explained.

He added that the IAEA does not have the mandate to determine which side has been attacking the facility, and argued that "indisputable evidence" is needed to establish who is responsible.
Russian UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia told the Security Council [...]

"With the connivance of its Western sponsors, Ukraine is systematically carrying out irresponsible and reckless attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the adjacent territory. The Russian Armed Forces recorded and suppressed more than a hundred unmanned aerial vehicles in week.

Our Western colleagues, without noticing it themselves, spoke out today in the form of an ultimatum: "Transfer control of the Zaporizhia NPP, and then they will stop shelling it." Thus, they not only betrayed the Zelensky regime, but also actually admitted to complicity in these irresponsible attacks.
Western demands for UN to discuss Iran attack are 'hypocrisy' - Moscow
Failure to condemn the Israeli bombing of Tehran's consulate in Syria spurred the latest violence, Russia's ambassador has argued...

The UN Security Council helped give rise to Saturday's Iranian attack against Israel by hypocritically failing to take action over the illegal bombing that provoked the latest violence in the region, Russia's ambassador to the global body has claimed.
[...]
Nebenzia contrasted the council's concern over protecting Western nations and their allies with its inaction when Israel bombed Iran's consulate:
"We know very well that an attack against a diplomatic representation is a casus belli under international law. And if a Western representation had been hit, you would immediately have rained down reprisals.

"When it comes to other countries, their rights - including the right to self-defense - well, that's a different matter, as you like to say... What we're witnessing is a display of hypocrisy and double standards that is almost embarrassing to watch."
The US, UK, and France essentially declined to confirm that the basic principles of international law concerning diplomatic facilities apply equally to all states, Nebenzia said. At the same time, Israel has faced no consequences for disregarding UN resolutions, including last month's demand for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The ambassador said:
"We think it's urgent for the entire international community to undertake all efforts necessary to deescalate the situation. Otherwise, the region could be drawn into a vicious cycle of mutual attacks and violence."
Western business as usual since many years.

The new legislation further simplifies mobilization procedures and introduces new penalties for draft dodgers.

President Vladimir Zelensky signed a controversial military mobilization bill into law on Tuesday, a legislation card publicly available on the Ukrainian parliament's website indicates.

The new legislation was passed by the Verkhovna Rada earlier this month, following a drawn-out debate over its contents. In a last-minute turn of events, its provisions became even stricter than originally proposed, with a demobilization clause withdrawn.

The adopted legislation effectively means that all draftees are set to remain in the military indefinitely, with the change reportedly lobbied by Aleksandr Syrsky, the recently appointed commander-in-chief of the armed forces. A demobilization procedure is expected to be introduced in separate legislation, though it remains unclear when exactly such a bill could materialize.

The famous Roman philosopher and orator Marcus Tullius Cicero once said, "The more laws, the less justice."

This week, New York judges and lawyers appear eager to prove that the same is true for cases against Donald Trump.

After an absurd $450 million decision courtesy of Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will bring his equally controversial criminal prosecution over hush money paid to former porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

Lawyers have been scouring the civil and criminal codes for any basis to sue or prosecute Trump before the upcoming 2024 election. This week will highlight the damage done to New York's legal system because of this unhinged crusade. They've charged him with everything short of ripping a label off a mattress.
