Israeli Defense Force is reportedly planning a civilian evacuation before the invasion

Israel will commence an invasion into the Gaza city of Rafah, despite protests from the United States and other international powers.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced approval of the operation via his office on Friday. The Israeli Defense Force will invade the city in southern Gaza as part of its larger military operations in the region.

The operation will reportedly include an evacuation of civilians, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The Prime Minister's office also announced that an Israeli delegation would leave for Doha to continue negotiations for the release of hostages.

The security cabinet must first arrive at a comprehensive position on the pressing issue.

Comment: Well it's pretty clear who's actually in charge here. But Israel may not get everything its own way. They may be planning a "civilian evacuation", but to where? Egypt and Jordan have both categorically said they would not receive any Palestinians forced out by the IDF.

Best of the Web: Houthis go hypersonic? How Ansar Allah's advance in missile tech could scupper US warmongering in the Middle East

A military source close to Yemen's Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement has informed Sputnik that the militia has carried out a successful test flight of a hypersonic missile and is preparing to add it into its arsenal. Sputnik asked a leading Russian military observer about the development's strategic implications.

Sputnik's source has indicated that the new Houthi missile can accelerate to speeds up to Mach 8 (nearly 10,000 km per hour), and that it is powered by a solid fuel engine - which typically reduces launch preparation time dramatically and eases transport.

Comment: It's unlikely to thwart the evil empire's presence there entirely, however it is probably going to make them reconsider their airstrikes on Yemen:

Macron leads the way to Western civilization's suicide

France has just made abortion, already legal, a constitutional right - a sign of the country's morbid drive to self-destruction

The Olympics will not be the only big event and source of euphoria in Paris in 2024. While Russian President Vladimir Putin is encouraging his population to have more children, Macron's France is celebrating the 'enshrinement' of abortion in the constitution. What does this say about France and the West in general?

In 2022, there were 234,300 abortions in France. The procedure is legal upon request until 14 weeks after conception. These figures are interesting when one considers that French politicians (and elderly voters, who are the majority of the electorate) insist on maintaining the extremely costly pension system and say that it has a price. Someone needs to pay. That is, the active population needs to pay. You would think that to sustain the requisite size of the active population, it would be more logical to encourage having more new births than to 'enshrine' having fewer. But that's not an issue if you import the population.

Comment: There is more to survival of a nation than a paragraph in a constitution, much depends on what the people of France will do.

What helps Macron is intelligence, which however does not prevent him from displaying a fair measure of arrogance, if that is the right word? This may be responsible for him not always seeing what is obvious to others.

Alt-Media is in a Dilemma after Biden Endorsed Schumer's Call for Regime Change in Israel

US Israeli flag rift
Biden wanted Bibi gone for ideological reasons long before the latest war, but the US' full support of Israel at the start of this conflict risked irreversibly harming American soft power in the Islamic World and poses a diplomatic threat to its interests if neutral Russia mediates a resolution. It was therefore decided to apply a combination of "grassroots"-media-political pressure onto Bibi to get him to ruin ties with Russia then ramp up the regime change operation against him afterwards.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called for regime change against Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu in a speech that was praised by Biden as "good" because it "expressed serious concerns shared not only by him but by many Americans" but was predictably condemned by the powerful AIPAC lobby. The Alt-Media Community (AMC), whose dogma and general composition can be learned about here and here respectively, is now in a dilemma since they usually oppose regime change but they also hate Bibi.

If some of its members oppose this due to their foreign policy principles, then they'll be accused of not wanting to stop his genocide of the Palestinians, but supporting a US-backed regime change in Israel with the expectation that it'll end the genocide could lead to accusations that they're imperialists. The AMC as a whole is also confused since they took for granted that the US would never turn against Israel, but these background briefings make sense of this policy shift and show that it's been long in coming:

Comment: The increasing criticism of Israel by the CNN, WaPo and other MSM could well signal a change in the approach to Israel as a lot of focus is on how to ensure that camp Biden wins in November. Continued support for the genocide taking place there is not helping that campaign.
It is also likely to signal rifts and desperation within the ruling elite on how to proceed as many globalist geopolitical projects are not going according to plan.

Washington will resort to any possible means in its efforts to harm Moscow, Ambassador Anatoly Antonov has claimed.

Russia's ambassador to the US has slammed Washington for its tacit support of terrorism against Moscow. The US is prepared to condone "terrorist activities" by its "satellite states" in an effort to damage Russia, Anatoly Antonov, has claimed, in an interview with Russian media published on Thursday.

He also accused the US of meddling in the ongoing Russian presidential election.

Washington has been Ukraine's biggest military donor by far throughout the conflict with Moscow, and Kiev's forces have used US-supplied weapons in multiple attacks on Russian civilian targets.

New York Times reports Kiev's drones losing electronic war to Russia

Ukraine has been reduced to equipping FPV drones with makeshift rocket-propelled grenades (RPG)
Ukrainian UAV operators have reportedly been unable to effectively wage war since Russia improved its e-warfare capabilities

Russian forces have secured an advantage in the field of electronic warfare in Ukraine, the New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing military experts and Ukrainian soldiers. Kiev's troops have been unable to effectively use their drones on the battlefield due to constant jamming by the Russians, the outlet claims.

Drones have played a key role throughout the conflict and have been extensively used by both sides. For Kiev, as noted by the NYT, cheap commercial First Person View (FPV) racing drones have proven an effective alternative to artillery shells.

"FPVs play a critical role for us, as these toys are essentially mobile artillery that compensate for the lack of ammunition," one Ukrainian drone operator told the outlet.

Comment: NATO and the EU must be watching these developments with horror.

Kremlin: NATO has secret agenda for troops in Ukraine

All the talk of sending ground forces is really about partitioning the country, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said

French President Emmanuel Macron has brought up the idea of sending NATO soldiers into Ukraine because members of the US-led bloc are plotting to divide up the country, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

Macron first suggested two weeks ago that when it came to NATO boots on the ground in Ukraine, no option should be off the table, but was publicly disavowed by most NATO members. He has since argued that France might send its own soldiers should Russia "break through to Kiev or Odessa."

Senior Israeli official suggests US trying to overthrow Netanyahu

The tensions that appear to be increasing between the Israeli and US leaders have not impacted Washington's support for Tel Aviv...

After a US intelligence assessment concluded that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rule is vulnerable, a senior Israeli official suggested Washington was attempting to overthrow the war government in Tel Aviv. President Joe Biden has grown increasingly critical of his long-time friend Netanyahu. While the White House has sought to distinguish between support for Israel and its leader, the administration says it will not reduce support for Tel Aviv.

A senior Israeli official slammed the Biden administration in remarks to the Jerusalem Post, saying:
"We expect our friends to act to overthrow the terror regime of Hamas and not the elected government in Israel. Israeli citizens, and not anyone else, elect the prime minister. Israel is not a protectorate of the US but an independent and democratic country whose citizens are the ones who choose the government."
The statement followed the annual "threat assessment" compiled by US intelligence agencies, which was released on Monday and questioned Netanyahu's hold on power.

Comment: Under increasing US criticism and dismal poll numbers, Biden's pivot is a two-faced ploy to dispel re-election concerns. Other than to self-serve, he doesn't care.

Ukraine needs massive mobilization to relieve frontline troops - FT

Some 330,000 soldiers must be withdrawn to rest, according to the British newspaper...

Ukraine wants to mobilize up to 500,000 additional troops mostly to replace frontline soldiers that have not had a proper rest for months, the Defense Ministry in Kiev has claimed to the Financial Times.

An estimated 330,000 "exhausted troops" require rotation, which a radical military reform being deliberated in the Ukrainian parliament is intended to provide, the report said. The remaining new recruits will "replace casualties and meet other military needs," according to the ministry.

The Russian military estimated Kiev's casualties at over 444,000, as of the end of February. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky claimed last month that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in two years of hostilities with Russia, a figure that even journalists sympathetic to the Ukrainian cause have called implausibly low.
