American plans would violate international law, Moscow has said .

Moscow does not recognize Washington's attempt to illegally claim over a million square kilometers of maritime territory, including in the Arctic and the Bering Sea, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said.

Russian representatives informed the Council of the International Seabed Authority of this on Monday. The council is currently meeting in Kingston, Jamaica and operates under the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Comment: It's typical of pathological individuals to simply take what they want, with no concern for rules or how it may affect others. Why would governments be any different?

The never-ending Federal surveillance crime spree

nsa surveillance fisa
Last December, one of the most intrusive provisions in the federal statute book was set to expire. Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) authorizes the National Security Agency to vacuum up trillions of emails and other data. A bevy of bipartisan members of Congress called for radically curtailing those nullifications of Americans' privacy.

But the effort to put a leash on the federal surveillance failed dismally. Congress voted for a four-month extension of FISA, which will likely be followed in April by a much longer extension. There was a bipartisan congressional conspiracy to entitle the Deep State to continue trampling the Constitution.

In 1978, Congress passed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to outlaw political spying (such as the FBI had committed) on American citizens. FISA created a secret court to oversee federal surveillance of suspected foreign agents within the United States, permitting a much more lenient standard for wiretaps than the Constitution permitted for American citizens.

The FISA court "created a secret body of law giving the National Security Agency the power to amass vast collections of data on Americans," the New York Times reported in 2013 after Edward Snowden leaked court decisions. The court rubber-stamped FBI requests that bizarrely claimed that the telephone records of all Americans were "relevant" to a terrorism investigation under the Patriot Act, thereby enabling National Security Administration (NSA) data seizures later denounced by a federal judge as "almost Orwellian." In 2017, a FISA court decision included a 10-page litany of FBI violations, which "ranged from illegally sharing raw intelligence with unauthorized third parties to accessing intercepted attorney-client privileged communications without proper oversight."

Comment: The more that gets revealed, the more emboldened these agencies seem to become. Both from desperation and hubris. But such things have a limit, and a camel's back can carry only so much straw.

Best of the Web: Link between Crocus terrorists & Ukraine found - Russian Investigative Committee

On Tuesday, Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov said the first information received from suspects in the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack proves a Ukrainian trace. He added that, while radical Islamists had prepared the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall, the Ukrainian special forces were involved.

The investigation has obtained evidence of the connection of the terrorists who carried out the attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue with Ukrainian nationalists, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Thursday.

"The initial results of the investigation fully confirm the planned nature of the terrorists' actions, careful preparation and financial support from the organizers of the crime. As a result of working with detained terrorists, analyzing the technical devices seized from them, analyzing information about financial transactions, evidence of their connection with Ukrainian nationalists has been obtained," the Russian Investigative Committee said on Telegram.

Kate Starbird led the censorship efforts against Gateway Pundit in 2022

Her goal is to control your speech on X ...Update: and she was funded by Biden

On Sunday night 60 Minutes, a "news magazine", invited anti-free speech zealot Kate Starbird on to discuss the necessity to control thoughts and speech in America today.

Starbird went on 60 Minutes to argue the need to control free speech in America today so that only one viewpoint is allowed to reach the masses.
Lesley Stahl: Kate Starbird said the social media platforms often ignore the researcher's suggestions.

Kate Starbird: The statistics I've seen are just for the Twitter platform. But my understanding is that they responded to about 30% of the things that we sent them. And, I think on a majority of those they put labels.

Lesley Stahl: But just a third?

Kate Starbird: Just a third, yeah.

Cannon fodder needed for the genocide: Israel will force Ultra-Orthodox Jews to serve as patience among seculars runs out

Orthodox Jews
The Ultra-Orthodox community of Israel is generally exempt from compulsory military service. Over the years, the state has tried to change this. These attempts have largely failed, in part because the country failed to pass a law that would regulate their service.

Yanki Farber, a Haredi journalist from the city of Bnei Brak, central Israel, is not a typical representative of the Ultra-Orthodox community, which currently stands at 1.25 million people, or roughly 12.5% of the population.

When he was 18, Farber enrolled into the IDF, and after his release around three years later, he has on occasion been called up to the reserves. When the events of October 7, 2023 took place - with Hamas militants launching a deadly attack on southern Israeli communities - he put on his military uniform again and went to serve.

But Farber is an exception, not the rule. Historically, Ultra-Orthodox Jews, who were a minority when the State of Israel was established in 1948, received exemptions from military service. Back then, it was agreed that they would serve the state by praying, even though some did enroll in the IDF, especially in times of war and in cities that were attacked by Arab armies.

In the 1990s, when their population started growing, Israel tried to encourage them to serve, but despite their efforts, the IDF only managed to recruit 31 individuals in 1999.

Comment: Israel only has the need for more soldiers because it wants to continue the genocide and the illegal land grab. The West supports it with all the bombs needed and if the West stopped supplying arms and money the war would be over tomorrow. Not unlike Ukraine where the war also only continues due to massive outside funds and arms.

UN expert is facing threats over report documenting Israel's genocide violations in Gaza

Francesca Albanese had stated there were clear indications Israel has violated three acts in the UN Genocide Convention.

A United Nations expert who published a report saying there were reasonable grounds to believe Israel has committed genocide in its war on Gaza says she has received threats throughout her mandate.

Francesca Albanese, the special rapporteur on the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, presented a report entitled "Anatomy of a Genocide" to the UN Human Rights Council on Tuesday, which Israel said it "utterly rejects".

Comment: A German journalist recently asked Albanaese a rather facile question of whether Israel had explicitly stated in written documents their intention to commit genocide, to which she responded:
Albanese: "Do you think in Rwanda any gov't officials wrote a document saying: "I want to commit genocide." Have you seen anything like that? No. It doesn't work like that."

'Corruption' protests in Hungary led by 'pro-EU' former minister who is embroiled in his own domestic abuse allegations

Peter Magyar

Protests have erupted in Hungary as a leaked recording stoked a continuing scandal that has rocked the government.

The tape, released by former government insider turned critic Peter Magyar, who claims that it proves top officials are corrupt, brought thousands out onto the streets of Budapest on Tuesday evening. The episode extends the pressure on Prime Minister Viktor Orban's populist government, which critics have long accused of systemic corruption.

The protesters demanded the resignation of Orban, as well as his chief prosecutor. The nationalist leader, who has ruled since 2010, is facing one of the strongest public challenges to his tightening grip on power.

Comment: The headlines the Western press are running for this story are rather telling. And it's fairly obvious why the establishment are eager to depose Orban:

The Crocus Mall slaughter, Who did it?

anschlag moskau, crocus hall

The Crocus Mall attack, who did it? Was it the Ukrainian Jews? Or maybe the British Jews? How about the Israeli Jews? Or better yet, was it the American Jews, better known as the neocons? Maybe all of the above, what's the difference?

They were not religious fundamentalists, as recognized by Peskov, Patrushev, and others. They were indeed Muslims, but they were hired guns for money. No Allah Akbar, no suicide attack, just a transactional deal. Paid killers.

I was about to say paid professional killers, but while they were killers, they were not professionals. "Professionals" would mean at the very least that they would disperse and disappear in the general population afterward. Instead, they were driving at 137 Km an hour on 80 to 100 KPH roads, straight into the police dragnet waiting for them at the Ukrainian border.

From the other end of the world, the US came forward to point to the usual bogus suspects. The only scapegoats the US has for all-weather bad events are the ubiquitous Arabs, Muslims, or a combination thereof.

But who could have had the motive? Sure, the illegitimate Ukrainian government had a motive. Just 2 days before, their entire energy infrastructure was wiped out by the rain of Russian Kalibr missiles. For the first time, there was no more room to brag about how many Russian missiles they've downed. The evidence and the irreparable damage were immense. So, yes, they were motivated to show the Russians that they are not dead yet.

As for the Israelis, they were boxed in by a Russian government who at the very least supported and pleaded at the UN for an immediate ceasefire. The Russians were defiantly sending cargos of food aid to the Palestinians in Gaza, and they had a plan for a role for Hamas in Gaza, post-war, as well as working hard to unify all the Palestinian factions into a united front against the illegal Israeli occupation. Furthermore, they tacitly support the Iranians, who support the Houthis who declared an embargo on shipping vessels connected to Israel.

The British Jews have always been enthralled to strike at Russian interests (for over 200 years) and should there be a plot to do that, why would they not support it unconditionally? That's their modus operandi in world affairs.

Today with the launch of season 4 of Mafiacracy Now, BestEvidence returns to the heart of its mission as set forth 10 years ago in the channel's About section:

BestEvidence seeks to chronicle major financial forces and legal changes behind America's last days as a sovereign republic, as the rule of law is destroyed and the American people are disenfranchised and looted in broad daylight.

One month ago, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen revealed her criminal colors to the world by urging other G7 allies to seize $300 billion of Russian assets (most of which are frozen in Belgium) and hand them over to Ukraine.

Ukraine, of course, has been the star of a massive media fantasy in which it is defeating Evil Russia on the battlefield, only this particular fantasy has been plumped relentlessly as actual news throughout the west for two years. With the fall of Avdeevka, the fantasy is dead for all to see, and now we move, not to a coping phase (because that would actually be healthy) but to the plunder phase, as everything inevitably does whenever and wherever the U.S. Mafiacracy is involved.

Remember how all those sanctions were going to cripple Russia, only they made Russia stronger?

Well now the magical answer to Ukraine's woes lies in those Russian assets. It's not going to work, of course, any more than the sanctions worked, or any more than General Dynamics Abrams Tanks worked. All of those things backfired, and this will too.

But boy oh boy, will it ever enrich participants in the Mafiacracy's Family and Friends Program. That's side effect number one of what Yellen is proposing. It's the smaller by far of two.

Messiah Mode - understanding Israel today

Meir Kahane
© Dan Balilty/APWith a portrait of late Rabbi Meir Kahane on the wall, left, a Jewish settler walks inside a building taken from a Palestinian family in Hebron, Nov. 16, 2008.
There was a time when I felt reasonably confident that the views of the Zionist extremist Meir Kahane would never become dominant in Israel. Surely, they would always be confined to the margins.

Then Netanyahu formed government with the religious extremists. How on earth did it turn out this way?

I failed to understand that Kahane was as much against the idea of Diaspora Jews he was against anything else, and how propaganda and activism towards this end would play out.
